Well... couldn't wait any longer.

Just ordered my 13" rMBP 2.9ghz i7 from Macmall. Solid deal at $1600. I considered the 15", but the size didn't work for me. Haswell, shmazwell. Not a gamer. For the few seconds extra I have to wait on the home video/picture editing I like to do, I guess I'll have to suck it up. iGPU, bring it on. Anything will be better than my craptastic '09 white Macbook.

I'm stoked :apple:

256 or 512 GB disk? If it is 256GB, then it is not a big deal... Be aware the laptop you bought is 2012 model, not the early 2013...

just picked up a MBP Mid 2012 off eBay for $700.. this is my first Mac although im very proficient with all the iOS devices lol.. but yeah got it from ebay and its in very good condition minus the normal scratches on the bottom case.. did a clean restore but some apps missing going in to apple to just get it checked out since its still under the original 1yr warranty till next year :D

Just got my 15.4 inch mid 2012 Retina for 1600 without tax. It came with 16GB of ram instead of 8GB!

I am so tempted to join you guys and just get a refurb from the Apple Store and **** Haswell off with all this BS over no dGPU, so far though I have managed to stop myself

Should I buy a macbook pro now or...?

Hello! I'm starting college again in mid August and I'd like to buy a 13" macbook pro. However, I've been following up on the Buyer's guide but I'm still not sure if I should buy the macbook pro now (basic model, it's at $999 with the student discount) or wait for Haswell (I think it's only the retinas that are getting a refresh?). I'm studying (Interactive) Advertising and my college uses iMacs in the "creative" class rooms (aka when we have to use Adobe programs among others). I've only been using Photoshop for now but, going into my 3rd year, I will have to use other programs depending on the classes. A big majority of the students who study something with graphic designing, film and others use macbook pros (there's a percentage of chance that they might not all be new but yeah, that's what upgrading is for, right?). It's not that I'm giving into "peer pressure" since I have been saving up for years. I just want to not regret my purchase. Although the retina may be beautiful, it doesn't convince me so that one is out (plus I sometimes use my disk drive because of my dad).

Sorry if this was a big paragraph but I really need help. Thank you!

Ordered a refurbished MacBook Pro 15-inch with Retina Display, base model for 2285 NZD. Pretty amazing deal :D

I was waiting for the new Haswell MacBook Pro but it's just too long and I need a Mac :apple: (Have been using Windows laptop while I'm waiting) I guess more battery life, faster SSD and new 802.11 AC is not too important when I saved about 700 NZD.

Should arrive today, I hope it's a Samsung screen. Well it has to be, I'm not paying for a LG crap :)

Awesome! Let us know how it turns out. I'm ordering a mid 2012 15" rMBP in a couple of weeks from the refurb store.

Why would you say if 15, get now? Just curious (looking to jump from MBA back to a MBP)

From the rumors, I believe the people waiting out for the 13" Haswell rMBP will benefit the most especially in the graphics chip. But the upgrade from the current 15" to the Haswell 15" might not be as much of an upgrade, especially when the 15" has dedicated graphics.

The current 15'' lineup is still at introductory prices though correct? if that is the case then assumingly the new hasswell 15" would replace the current ones, at the current price. So there would (assume) be no hike in price.
