I can't access the order status, says it's too busy at the moment :D
Stop spamming F5 guys!

Btw, this is in the Belgian Apple Store... Maybe you don't have the same problem.

Yeah, I think that's the exact flight :D

Never noticed this before...

This is probably a common occurrence when shipping from China to the US. It looks like my Mac arrived in Alaska before it left Japan. That international date line... ;)

I just ordered the second base configuration of the 13" Retina. It seems to me to be the best value for money-option. I'm a graphic designer and web developer and i5, 256 GB SSD and 8 GB ram is probably all I'm gonna need from a notebook.

Edit: On second thought I would have loved to upgrade the ram to 16GB but there is no way I'm paying ~$270 for that. (Denmark is expensive)

I'm looking very much forward to swap my Macbook Air 11" Mid 2011 for this machine. The retina display alone should justify the upgrade.

Somebody feels any difference between the previous MBPr 13" and the new one? I have the previous one and curious to know if we can actually feel the weight\thickness differences without comparing them side-by-side.

Thanks :)

I have the new rMBP base model with Iris Pro obviously. I have a bit of a decision whether to save $100 and go for an older refurbished one with twice the SSD space and of course, the 650m. It's whether the gaming performance benefit is enough to warrant sacrificing the extra battery life and PCIe drive speed benefits.

Decisions, decisions. Waiting for Anandtech's review.

Got a question — about to buy a new 13 mb pro today. Is it cheaper to do it in store or online? Because I know they have you put in the zip code when you do it online so they affix the taxes to that, but i don't know if it is actually cheaper one way or another.

Also, is it quick to set up the financing option in store? I would probably put down a few hundred bucks today then finance the remaining. And, do I need to purchase apple care today, or do i have those 30 days to do that? (i'm going to do it, but all in one day is a little daunting.)

Thanks.

I don't think it's cheaper in the store rather than online. The same taxes will apply. If you finance, you can fill out the application online. I am not sure if you can do that in the store. You have a year to purchase Apple Care from the date of purchase. As per Apple: "The AppleCare Protection Plan can be purchased only while your Mac is still covered under the standard one-year limited warranty."

On launch day, pretty soon after the announcement, I ordered a 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro with the 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, turbo boost up to 3.8 GHz, 16 GiB of RAM, 512 GB PCIe SSD flash storage, US English keyboard, gigabit ethernet adapter.

It has shipped, but it is still in China.

Mine is still in China, too. It is shipped via Fedex. I guess they don't ship on Sundays? I got the same 15 inch, only with the 1 TB SSD and 2.3GHZ. Due for delivery Wed, 10/30 with 2 day shipping, courtesy of Apple.

My 15" BTO (2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, 16GB SDRAM, 1TB Storage) that I ordered mere minutes after the Canadian store came back online on Tuesday has been still sitting in China since Friday as well. It's travelling to the Toronto area.

The scanning doesn't seem to make sense to me. It's been scanned twice for Export, but has an Arrival scan after its Departure scan.

I've been keeping tabs on most of the flights from Shanghai to Anchorage, but so far no scans at ANC.

I wanted to go pick up the 13 in. Retina with 8 gb ram, 256 gb storage and 2.6 ghz. Do you think the stores carry this or would I need to order online? Have you guys had luck getting this model (or other non base models) in store?

Anything other than the 3 stock versions of the 13" or the 2 stock versions of the 15" are BTO and cannot be purchase at a brick-and-mortar retail store.

Try checking stock by configuring the model you want on Apple's website. It should indicate time for in-store availability. If you can pick it up today, they have it.

I wanted the fully loaded 13", so I called a local store to see if they happened to have any. (Configuration page indicated no, but why not ask?) The woman I spoke with said they do not carry anything but the base models, and that this is true for all stores. YMMV. Doesn't hurt to call, but I wouldn't be too hopeful for a BTO model, at least not at an Apple store.

Some people have indicated that Best Buy carries some of the BTO configurations, I think? Again, doesn't hurt to call, but you will probably have to order online and...wait.

Well, for those of us in the UK and North-West Europe, it looks like the on coming storm could potentially disrupt our deliveries.

MY 13"MBP just checked in at Koeln, Germany. I wonder if the next plane to London will fly in the next 12 hours or not.

Ohhhhh, go home stupid storm! :( I hope they'll put them into a plane shortly.

Btw are you sure that UPS flies to London and not to another airport? I have no previous experience and internal informations, but just looking around for info I found that their biggest UK hub is in Tamworth which is basically 15mins from East Midlands Airport. Is there any reason to use one of London's busy airports?

UPS doesn't update the tracking information right when they move it. I ordered the same config as you, and it showed the exact same tracking information, but now it is in Anchorage.

The 2 export/1 arrival scans were probably moving it to different shipping hubs. I'm not sure but I'm guessing..

You guys need to chill with tracking planes LOL.. the laptop is on its way..
