After 10 days of contemplating which configuration to go for and if I should order in Canada or Dubai (where I am living). I finally did it. Can't wait. Will buy Apple Care from Canada as its not available here.

Can I ask what your reasoning for going with the 2.6 i5 was? Another person here who is close to deciding on their 13-inch configuration, but has had a hard time deciding. 16/256 is great, just curious why you went with the higher-clocked i5. Battery life?

I was reading the forums over the last 10 days and I think I cam across some tests that showed there was an enough performance boost from 2.4 to 2.6 and the boost from i5 to i7 wasn't as large as the 2.4 to 2.6. Also, it was a $90 upgrade, which I figured if I am investing in the laptop, it is a small price to pay. I am sure it won't be so noticeable, but it couldn't hurt I suppose.

Finally ordered! So excited. Took me he past week or so to decide if I needed 2.6 or not. Decided to go with 2.3 and maybe I can afford a new ipad.

I'm so excited, but after reading this forum very worried about scrolling lagging, IR, creaking noises and yellow tint. I'm just praying I get a good one.

Don't be stuck up on some of those things. Scrolling lag is an issue with the OS.
The issue with yellow tint.. use the MBP for a couple days without worrying. If you don't notice anything without testing for it, let it be. But if it is too severe, all power to you and return it :D, you did but a expensive machine!

Exactly. It was expensive. So if I find anything wrong with it, I'm definitely gonna exchange it. I'm gonna try and just use it and not worry about it. The one thing I guess I a little worried about is copying over all my files and getting it all set up and then having to exchange it. That would be areal bummer. Especially with iTunes and verifying the computer and all that.

My order went in yesterday. 15"/2.6GHz/16GB/512GB.

Estimated delivery: "lucky" November 13th!

I must say, now that the tortured deliberations have finally come to an end, all that's left is pure excitement and anticipation... the GOOD STUFF!

Nice $2700 buzz. :D

This is the identical rMBP I just ordered from Canada, in the Educational Store. Cant wait for it to arrive! Ordered yesterday due to arrive November 13-15. It's going to be my first Mac :D

TNT just delivered my rMBP 15" 2.3/16/512. It's sitting on my desk at work. I've a ton of stuff to get through today and having this thing sitting there is not helping my concentration!

That is definitely true. Smart thing you did there. I myself don't need more than 256GB either.

Eu/uk

Anyone with some tracking information that ordered the computer to the EU?
I'm in the UK - but I haven't seen an update since friday - and it still haven't provided a tracking number.

So, I finally took the plunge and decided to buy a rMBP. It's going to be my first ever mac device.

Ordered mine on the 28th. It's currently at Stansted airport, was flown there from Germany this morning.

Ordered today a 13'' 512GB/2.8GHz/16GB Ram. Delivery estimated 11-13 November. Ordering it last Saturday it gave me same delivery estimate...

I'm in mainland UK.

My 13" i5/8/256 arrived yesterday. It's my first Mac and I love it already. My previous computer, a Dell XPS, had a battery time of about 30 minutes and got BSOD several times a day so it feels incredible. However, Apple charged me twice for the computer so I feel very poor right now. :-(

Should be a quick fix after a phone call. No? And how did they manage to charge you twice, weren't you billed at time of order? Did they charge you again after?

The thing is, I think I'll have my money returned in 3-4 banking days. They usually reserve money when you place the order then do the actual charging of the money when the computer/whatever is sent. The reserved money is returned after a couple of days. This is usually not a problem for me when buying things over the internet, but when it's $2000 it's pretty annoying.

At least I think that's what happened, it happened once on amazon too and they explained it like that to me when I called them.

Ouch! Now I'm a little concerned. I use a Visa Debit card, meaning my money is coming from my bank account not my Visa. I'll be pretty strapped if they ding my account for 4G's!

I cancelled my order last week on a Thursday, and the charge wasn't taken off my account until that Monday. But could be due to it falling over a weekend.

Hey, I really want to buy a Macbook but I want your advice. I will mainly use it for movies, music and web. Rarely games. Like few times a week I will edit videos (max 5-10min 1920x1080) in after effects. Sometimes I will use Maya 3D. Do you thing the one with IRIS PRO would work for me? Or should I go for the Early 2013 although I really want the battery life but I will get over it. I will be taking it at the beginning of January so do you think there might be refurbed ones? :My current one lasts like 2 hours max at video watching. I'll be using it for about 3 years or so. :) Hope you answer soon. :)

I just got my new 13" mid range processor, 16gig 512mb.... and I'm pretty darn excited, as I'm sure all of you were when you got yours. This is my first post with it...

Everyone who have just received their rMBP 15", please check it for creak and yellow tint and share your conditions, so we can know the status of the complains Apple has been receiving.
