Spent a few days with my 15" now, what a tremendous laptop!

Battery life is incredible. Bearing in mind it's new, and I've rarely took my hands off it in the waking hours (annual leave this week), it's still lasted me all day off battery. Only yesterday, when I played Walking Dead for an hour or so, did the battery hit 10% or so. Given my usage will go down slightly once the novelty has worn off, going forward this deffo qualifies as all day battery life for my usage.

The display is amazing and I still can't believe how light the whole package is - it looks like it should weigh more. I've had a late 08 15" mpb previously, pretty heavy and got hot quickly. This has stayed ice cool so far, even when playing Walking Dead (which is hardly demanding admittedly).

Bit of an ordeal getting it on Monday though.

Rang Apple store Manc, all out (2.3,16gb, 512gb,750).

Rang Trafford centre Apple store..they had stock, yay! Wife had the car so got train and bus to Trafford centre (hate that place!). Went in Apple store, very busy, waited ages for them to take my money...but alas! The guy on the phone said they had stock, but it was actually some variation on last years model for £2,149, hence the confusion. Walked out utterly, utterly deflated, especially considering all the commuting :(

Then decided I'd have a look in John Lewis, thinking to myself, bet they only have the lower stock config. They had the £2199 model on display surprisingly. Asked the helpful member of staff about stock, he seemed to spend aaaaages on his computer, lots of tapping, then said yes, there's one left! Yay! Was so happy, the otherwise painfully slow bus ride back (hardly ever get the bus) flew by as I munched on a sarnie I'd bought from Boots and adopted my hardest, meanest looking face to deter muggers :)

I just ordered:

• Country Kit

I Bought it online from the US store with the danish backlight keyboard, this is the first Mac that I buy in the US store with this option, very nice :)

Bought a 15" Retina MacBook Pro couple days ago and I'm loving it!! Education pricing, so basically came out to tax-free.

I'm in film school, and my 2010 13" MBP wasn't cutting it for my needs.
I know officially, Final Cut Pro 7 and Avid Media Composer 6.5 are not supported but I was able to install and launch them. I'm aware of some bugs, but so far I haven't seen any. I'll have to run them through their paces pretty soon. Avid Pro Tools 10 will be installed today and tested out as I have some sound design to do for 2 school projects.

• 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
• 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
• 512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage

Now what's a fair price to ask for my 2010 13" MBP? I put it on Craigslist asking for $600 obo as I know there are a lot of lowballers on there, with offers of $300 already coming in.

2.4GHz C2D
4GB RAM
120GB SSD
250GB HDD
Data doubler
SuperDrive is in external enclosure
InCase protective shell

bought a 13 rMBP. I had trouble deciding if I should get the 13 or the 15.
15 is really optimal considering power etc. but since it is not my main computer, and is to be used just in the living room etc. I was in the store, saw the 13 next to the 15, and it just felt like 13 is the right number for me. at least for now. it is my first macbook so...

Just replaced my dead 2011 15'' MBP (2.0 GHz i7) with the new 13'' rMBP (2.6/512/8) and am loving every part of it! The screen is so unbelievable, the pattern is fantastic! Cant think of anything wrong with it! :)

I just took the plunge and picked up:
Early 2013 New Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" Base 2.4GHZ/8GB/256GB for $1699.99 plus tax. They're clearance selling their over-stocked Retina models from last year and earlier this year for $300 off the usual bookstore price which was $1999.99. I figured if I sold my 6 month old Classic 13" and my gaming desktop, I'll recoup 95% of the loss. So it ends up being less than $100 for me to move from a 13" Classic and a gaming desktop to a machine that will fulfill all my needs.

I intend on moving fully to the cloud to take advantage of the 256GB of limited space. This machine is gorgeous. It's literally the Mac to own. It has everything. Quadcore processor, discrete graphics, high resolution screen and it's light.

I just returned my late 2013 13" rMBP 2.4, 8GB, 256SSD and replaced with the 15" rMBP 2.0, 8GB, 256SSD and loving the extra screen real estate! This quad core i7 is a beast compared to all my past dual core MacBooks!
I don't game on the laptop so the dedicated graphics are plenty for my needs.

I recently sold my 2012 15" rMBP and just got my 13" 2.4/16/256, but I am thinking of returning it for another 15". I don't really need the 15" computing power, but I like the screen size, especially as it is my only computer.

I keep looking at my partner's 15", and feel like the 13" is tiny - so I guess I am just too used to working with the 15" screen.

The only thing I am worried about is I currently have an almost perfect 13" and don't want to go through all the hassles to get a 15" that I am happy with (when I say almost perfect, my internet keeps dropping out even with all the latest updates).

Brand spanking MBP 15" for $2300.

Well I jumped on gumtree about 3 hrs ago and spotted a MBP for sale for $2300.

Part No. ME294X/A

Jumped online and looked up the part no:

15.4 / 2.3GHz / 16GB / 512GB Flash

So in Australia its the $3199.00 on the store - with the GT 750M discreet graphics.

Called the guy, pulled the cash out, offered him $2200 and he accepted.

It's now sitting on my desk, still in the shrink wrap, with receipt.

:)

Thanks mate. To be honest I'm going to have to sell it as 15" is too big for my needs. But for $1000 off the asking price it was a no brainer - he bought from a reseller so the guy didn't have the 14 day cooling off period.

I'll pick up the 13" MBP after I sell it.

Hey all... Thinking of ordering the top spec 15" model for Christmas... Just wondering if anyone could tell me when the christmas returns period would start? And whats the last day i could order before christmas to ensure delivery?!

For a machine that could very well last 2-3 years, I wouldn't settle for anything less than actual perfect. My 15" has zero issues. Connects to WiFi from far away, has no thermal or shutdown issues. No freezing. It's fast and it was brand new. I saved a lot on it and I intend on keeping it for a long time.

ordered a haswell 13 mbp 16gb 512hd from macmall on oct 28. Initially told I would receive 10/31. Then 11/4, then 11/11 and now 11/14. Is anyone else experiencing these delays via macmall, apple, best buy etc?

Did you go with 2.4 or 2.6? They list the 13" 2.6 16GB 512 SSD as in-stock.

B&H has the same one in-stock (more than 10 on-hand)

I just picked up my 15" MacBook Pro yesterday.
Specs are 2.3 processor, 16gb ram, nvidia 750 and 512gb hard drive.
The machine is a beast and I love it. The apple store employees were a joy to deal with. So far so good.

15" MacBook Pros don't come with hard drives anymore. ;)

Just ordered a 15" rMBP w/ 16 GB RAM, 1 TB flash, dGPU on Thursday. Just waiting for it to come. Says it should arrive Thursday. Can't wait! Although, it seems like it was ready to ship from China since like Saturday, but still seems to be there on my FedEx tracking page.

Ordered!

Well, last Wednesday the purchasing dept for my college ordered my new personal use MBP/rd 15" (2.6GHz i7, NVIDIA dGPU, 16GB memory, 1TB flash storage and AppleCare). I would have ordered it myself, but I get a zero percent loan from my workplace for a significant portion of the cost if I go through technical purchasing. I am very excited! This replaces my 11" MBAir (2011) that hasn't been meeting my needs anymore. I need a something that would handle multiple VM's running java applications smoothly... not to mention just wanting that screen!

So, the waiting game begins... :)

Ordered my 13" 2.6 16GB 256 SSD from Macmall early this morning.

They upgraded the shipping to over night for free, so I should have it tomorrow morning if all goes well. (Just received a call from their verifying department, and they just released the order)

$1,740.18, shipped Via FedEx Over night. not bad!
