I did now ;). It's getting the migration assistant treatment ATM (so I'm still using my old Mac). I already forgot it didn't come with a disc drive and was looking at the fact they changed the power button and thinking, "Oh, I guess it's a multi function button with eject as well." And then at some point realizing, oh wait, no disc drive to eject (I'm sick and my head's a little muddled, cut me some slack).

next order of business...go to about this mac, system report, storage tab on the left and check what ssd manuf. u got sandisk or samsung SM or SD

;) lol

I would like to see 'part number' (1398) and 'model number' (ME294), somewhere in osx of my new rmbp.
Is it possible?

Not that I'm aware of. It may be on the box sticker. The you can get machine details from "About This Mac" > "More Info" > "System Report" > "Hardware". It will list Model name and identifier and configuration. There are a couple online tools that cross reference this info to part number and model number.

Just ordered a refurbished 13 rMBP 2.6/16/512. This will be my second Mac, intended for both work and personal.

I'm writing this on my first, an '09 13" 5,2 MB that I use daily for work and personal stuff. I upgraded to a Crucial 256 SSD and 4GB of ram two years ago. It runs Mavericks and Win7 w/in VMWare ably. It turns 5 this month and has served me very well.

Looking forward to a little speed bump :)

Oh, and thank you to this forum for lots of tips and ideas!

Why I cannot see anywhere the Model name and Part number?

Thats just the way Apple has always done it, its what gets programmed into the motherboard. You get the model name and identifier with description, why would you want more? :)

Because I want to know that the machine the seller sold me, is actually the real one, and not 2 years old one, with the specs of the new one.
It is not what the 'box'/package displays, it is what the machine really is.

So, if it displays 'Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013' in system info, I should be ok?
But without model number and part number, how can I say for sure, that the seller did not got the 'entry' model and just put the specs of the 'higher' model?
Entry model: ME293
'Higher' model: ME294

Ordered my new MAC book Pro on Friday! Trying his again. I am normally a windows guy and bought a Mac mini when it first came out. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I was confused and it was slow for photo editing. But I am trying again and excited about it.
MacBook Pro 15" retina
2.3Ghz
16mb ram
Graphics card 750
1TB ssd
Eta on the 15th :)
Looking to do some photo editing animation stuff and video editing. Possibly some games too. A

Just ordered the exact computer! Ordered 4/2, shipped 4/4, expected deliver 4/9. Enjoy it!

I am going to buy the base 13" or 15" retina model but can I just confirm that the image retention issues have subsided and gone away? I bought the original 15" back in 2012 and decided to return and purchase the unibody MacBook 13" after seeing significant IR. I didn't want to get into the return cycle so decided to wait. Given recent drive issues with my MBP I fancy buying the retina.

Can I export all information about my mac in text file, from 'system information'?

Hoping that it will be delivered a day early since it already arrived in Memphis.

New Purchase 15" Retina

I have been waiting since i sold my 2011 MBP 13" for a long time to buy a new rmbp.

I plan to use it for work/school. I am currently an IT and I am studying Computer Science. I plan to use this to finish my way thru school and continue building websites w/ the adobe application.

I went with the base model... 2ghz/8GB RAM/250GB HD
Open box at Bestbuy, but new...
Price: 1554.99

Yeah... kinda stoked on the deal.:D

Just got my refurbished... Apple made a mistake!

My 13" Retina MBP has just been delivered.

What I ordered:

I love the refurbished Apple Store! I was supposed to get my MBP 15% off. Actually I've got it 22% off.

The first thing I was amazed is the IPS Retina Display. I am using it @ 1680x1050 and it's stunning, even better than what I thought!

I have finally joined the world of intel macs with a used 2010 i5 15" MBP. Probably spent a little more than what I was hopping but the computer was well taken care of. Now I hope to keep it well taken care of.

The rMBP left Memphis this morning at 4am and made it to my front door in the Cleveland, OH suburbs by 8:50am. Thought they would stick to the original delivery date (tomorrow) because there were no status changes once the rMBP arrived at Cleveland's sorting center at 6am. Didn't bother checking the tracker after 8am and ended up with a surprise knock on the door within the hour. Pretty impressed!

A week ago I picked up a refurb 17" Macbook Pro. Got a great deal on it and I love the screen. I could have gotten a retina 13" for the same price, but the discrete graphics and ability to house an internal bluray drive won me over.

2nd day.....

on my new rMBP 13"!!!

i just came over to mac from my toshiba xp---and i am LOVING IT!!!:D

i would have liked the 15", but, that was a bit out of my league---but i am finding out there is nothing wrong with the 13". even for someone that has to wear reading glasses. man, so thin and soooo light! it is pretty sweet!

Ordered a custom rMBP 13" and estimated delivery is Monday April 14th. Any chance it could arrive by tomorrow given that it's already arrived in Memphis? I know there's a very early morning/late night flight from Memphis to Houston.

edit: Cleared customs in Memphis a while ago as well, so fingers crossed that it ships to Houston tonight

Just ordered an Apple refurbished top-config'd 15" rMBP! (QC i7 2.6 16/1TB/750M 2GB) It's been quite the journey for me. I went from a Mid 2012 base 15" rMBP (QC i7 2.3 8/256/650M 1GB), to a 27" iMac (QC i7 3.4 32/2TB Fusion/680MX) + 11" MBA (i5 1.3 4/128), and finally to this. I'm excited to be back to one, unified beast of a machine again. I should've just gone with a high-end 15" rMBP in the first place and maybe I wouldn't have been tempted to sell my original. Already will be selling my 27" iMac tomorrow (sold on Craigslist in a heartbeat) and my 11" MBA shortly thereafter once I receive my new 15" rMBP.

I guess my main motivation behind this was the inevitable release of Retina/4K quality iMacs and Thunderbolt Displays around the corner. Once those come out, the resale value of the non-Retina/4K iMacs are going to suffer. Also, I've missed the peace of mind knowing that I have a powerful machine ready to take with me anywhere I go. And finally, I'll be graduating in just under a year and with possible relocation, a 15" rMBP would make a move a lot easier than a 27" iMac.

Nonetheless, I can't wait for next week!

Don't think FEDEx delivers on weekends. FEDEX delivery dates are typically accurate, Apple's may be pessimistic.
