How can you tell which screen you have? And what's the difference on yours and others?
Run the command in a terminal window to see if you have LG or Samsung: ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
If it begins with LP it is a LG screen.
The 15in 2012 retina's LG screen was not good. People were complaining about ghosting and image retention and yellow screens. The samsung was the better screen or at least according to the people on Macrumor. I got a samsung screen in 2012 and it was perfect. This time I got a LG screen and it is more on the warmer versus a cooler color profile. It is quite nice. The LG are richer color especially in the black tones but the samsung seems to be brighter and a cooler white tone. I have not heard people complaining about the LG screen this year as much. Of course there are lemons on both screens. It gets down to personal preference. My LG is not quite as bright as my 2012 rMBP but it is bright enough. Hopes this helps. :D

Just ordered the 2014 15" rMBP! Upgrading from my early 2011 13" MBP...I caved in and did it too impatient to wait for the next MBP.

Can't wait till it arrives =)

Official 2015 15" rMPB owner. yippie!

I am in the process of installing all of my stuff off of my 2012 MBA onto my brand spanking new 2015 rMBP. The thing is gorgeous!
The one thing I must say though, is that I wish the screen would tile back further like the MBA. Because my desk is lower than it should be. I have the MBA back full tilt and it's perfect for my standing desk. Not a huge issue, but I will be adjusting my desk very soon. Other than that, I am so elated with this machine. I know my Mom, who I promised my old MBA is going to be extremely happy as well. She's also getting an iPhone 6 this week coming off of an iPhone 3gs! Will she be able to handle it? I don't know.:D

I ordered a MBP Retina! It will arrive March 13-17 :) I'm really excited since it's my first Macbook and because I've had this laptop for 5 years.

2015? Do you know something we don't know?

My shiny new rMBP 15 inch has just arrived and I am delighted with it.

I will be annoying the forum soon enough with obvious questions once I get stuck into it

I bought 15" rMBP today. High end model. So far pretty shiny and fast. I'm glad I'm back at a Mac.

Ordered the new 13" rMBP right after the announcement. Just got a notification that Apple charged an extra $20 (for tax) to my CC. Checked on the apple order status site and it says "Preparing for shipment"

The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" threads, merged

I ordered mine last night, I've got 1-3 Business Days listed but no change so far. Where are you ordering from might I ask? I'm in the UK.

Germany it's BTO with 2,9GHz processor, 256GB SSD and 16GB RAM.

Got the 13" MacBook Pro (classic) last week with upgraded memory and processor. It is amazing, especially considering my last computer was a 2009 13" unibody MacBook.

Personally I don't care for the more expensive retina models when I can upgrade to the same specs on the classic along with a much larger Hard Drive.

I ordered a 13 inch High end BTO 2014 Retina Macbook Pro on March 1st. customized it with 16 gigs of ram and a Japanese keyboard. Apple shipped it out to the Apple store on the 7th. Should be arriving any day now. I probably got one of the last 2014 models from the factory.

I ordered a BTO 13" rMBP (16GB/1TB) last night, and it's claiming delivery between March 19th and March 23rd with standard shipping. So basically a week and a half. Longer than I'm used to for MBP orders, but not egregious, and it's been many years since I've ordered one (I bought my last one in-store).

Chose 2-day air.. guessing these are shipping fresh from China?

Where did you get this one from?

Just picked up the 2015 rMBP 13" in-store. It still said "coming soon" and the display models weren't out, but they had arrived already. Walked out with a i7 with 512gb of SSD and 16gb of RAM.

This should do for a few years.
