Photoshop that's making it crazy loud?

It ended up better than it started. Everything from fans to ambient light sensor wasn't functioning on the first boots, but after a SMC and PRAM reset it actually cooled down and now everything is super stable. Now I only annoy over the few milliseconds of blinking whenever the M370X switches to Iris Pro and back. CPU sits pretty much at 40-50 celsius with HD streaming along web, mail and development apps open.

After a few days I have actually used the Macbook Pro more than the Macbook. I also feel the speed gap is wide between the models. Love the extra screen real estate, but hate the weight, though I am getting used to it. After thinking about how the next design will be, I think a thinner model may only come out with integrated graphics, but only if it manages to drive a 4k screen with the skylake chip without lag or stutter.

The rMBP 2015 with M370X is a future proof machine since it supports 5k. Nothing really out there in the Mac world right now delivers such great power and is "portable". Yeah, it is an old CPU, but there are no revolutions in that industry at the moment. The dedicated GPU will allow it to last at least five years. By then you should have been tempted at least twice to switch to a newer and better design.

I just got the mid-2015 AMD version of MBP 15", and it seems noticeably quieter than my old 750m version. I wonder if it's just due to the thermal paste application, or El Capitan, but either way, extremely happy. Still gets loud under load, but just using Chrome Canary, Spotify, etc., the fans are basically silent.

i was hoping to see an update october-november, but...unlikely? (it's october 26 as i type this)... def getting a new 13" in november. i usually do a new mac every 2 years. it's been over 3 years, but my 2011 was literally rebuilt by apple last year...new logic board, ram, ssd, keyboard! still, need more power/speed/storage/ram. so...it's time...

Just share my crazy experience this last 2 weeks, I finally back to Macbook pro retina 15" after some reckless decision I have made.
2 Weeks ago I owned a MBPr 15" early 2013 256Gb Nvidia GT650M, then suddenly I really interested to the new Macbook Retina 12" 256Gb and I choose to switch but just a week I realise that I have made a big mistake, and now I make a switch back to the 15" but I choose to buy a Macbook Pro that is an ex-Display product on an apple store here in my town it is Macbook Pro Retina 15" Late 2013 256Gb with intel iris pro, seems like this late 2013 storage little bit faster than early 2013, dunno
well, everything seems like running smooth no problem whatsoever :)

Happy as hippo :D

Just changed from a 13" (2015) rMBP to a 15" (2015) MBP. Surprised it's not that much bigger really than the 13". Already noticing the screen size. Only thing I don't like is the much larger wrist rest area as my watch keeps banging it.

Speakers sound much better than the 13" as well. Really wanted 1TB, but even then I wouldn't be able to store everything (media) on it, so I figured I'd save some money and just get the 512GB flash model.

So far, happy with the upgrade, as I was consolidating from 3 computers (27" iMac, 13" MBP, and 11" Windows laptop) down to 1.

Was waiting patiently for a redesigned MBP (with possibly touchID) or atleast the Skylake update before the end of the year to upgrade my old 2009 17" MBP.

I gave up hope for TouchID integration, since Apple didn't put it into its updated keyboard/mouse/trackpad lineup.

Last Thursday out of nowhere my old MBP died (will not turn on anymore) and I decided to go with a refurbished 13" MBP (2015) with 256gb, since I connect my MBP to an external monitor 90% of the time anyway, I think that should do for now and I wanted to give the 13" a try.

I believe I will be a happy chap when my new MBP arrives and it should be an enormous step forward ;)

But I have to say, Thank you Apple to design a mobile computer that would stay with me for 6+ years and be a very productive machine during that time while running all the latest OSX versions and software!!

Just got my early 2015 13" rMBP a few weeks ago. Sold my iPad Air and Mac mini to pay for it. Needed something portable and powerful. My iPad Air just wasn't cutting it for me as a laptop replacement, and my Mac mini didn't have the power I needed for audio recording/editing.

I love everything about this laptop, but I'm having some major buyer's remorse right now. I know it's completely illogical. I tried using my iPad Air as a laptop and it was insanely annoying to me, even on an iOS 9 public beta build with all the new features save for Split View (it was a first gen iPad Air.) But I keep thinking I made a huge mistake selling my iPad even though I never used it. I think it's because less than a month after buying this, Apple got on stage and told me that the iPad was the future of personal computing. Kind of made me feel like I made the wrong decision.

I think it's just that I spent a lot of money on my new machine--I always get like this when I get new stuff. Hopefully it passes soon, because it keeps me from enjoying my new gear.

I feel the same way about certain things as well. What I do know is that using a tablet is different than using a computer. I prefer computers because tablets feel weird after long use of them.

Just use your MacBook and get used of it so you can ease off of the iPad. I think your probably addicted to the iPad that's why lol

Was gonna wait for Skylake before upgrading my 2012 15" cMBP, but Best Buy had a 4 hour sale going, and the standard 13" rMBP was $250 off so I pulled the trigger :D.

I don't even know the history behind a rMBP going on sale. I was at Best Buy yesterday also and there was that online sale for $250 off a 13" they were honoring in store and they had an open box for an additional $100 off. I didn't hesitate regardless and I'm loving it so far.

Wish it came with a 256 SSD instead of 128, but I can just get a 128 GB SD card or something. Can't wait to get it

I just ordered 2015 Rmbp as my old MacBook 2008 unibody died. I wasn't sure whether to hold out as I heard the new MacBook Pro is rumoured to come out rather soon. I know this question has been posted a lot but can anyone give me advice on whether I should of waited to replace my MacBook as it's a new pro is around the corner? I'm not concerned about the technology so much as the changes are often minor but I don't wanna spend all this money and in a month the 'better, newer version' comes out and is the same price as the one I just purchased... Basically concerned about losing money. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sid.

Buy this version only if you get a good discount otherwise it's better to wait for the new..
I bought my 2014 model this March (just before the new version came out) with a 20% discount

Thanks - I've already placed an order via the Apple website so I won't be able to take advantage of any discounts unfortunately. I guess at the end of the day I need to replace my broken Mac from 2008. There's no definite release date for the new MacBook Pro yet and there's no guarantee they won't push the price of the new machine up.

Well in that case just enjoy your new MacBook.. As your last one was a 2008 model, I am sure you are going to love the 2015 one

And yea, don't check for new model updates for 2-3 years if you intent to keep this for long

I would have bought a replacement if my systems failed. Waiting is never an option when you are out of computers. Be sure to get the one with dGPU so you get 4k and 5k support.

The 13" Pro is not worth it at the moment.

On Friday 13 (now it all makes sense!) I got mid-2015 MBP`15 512Gb with AMD graphics onboard. Everything is super cool, except graphical glitches - occasionally, maybe 3-5 times a day, my screen shakes and horizontal artefacts appear for a fracture of second.

So, me being confused. This glitch is not a deal breaker, but annoys a bit. Not sure what to do, since I live in country without official Apple stores.

Bad karma, I guess.

Not my case, I believe. I already used gfxCardStatus to pin dGPU only, since I cannot drive external monitor on iGPU.

And it stays the same - occasional flicker/shake.

If its not switching gpus, get it replaced. You can also do it with refurbs.

Since you just bought it shouldn't you be able to get it exchanged where you bought it for a new one without the issue?
