Funny, I got a set of those adapters too. All you really need on the go. Test that they both work though. I had one that didn't. Love the Apple TV, but I honestly never airplay since my content is already in there or my Roku. Jealous of your on the way LG display. I've had my monitor for only a year so I won't be in the market anytime soon. I'm sure you know, but the dongle thread has good info on dongle/setup options.
Thanks for the tip, hopefully they work... I don't really need a monitor, but I want to take advantage of a product Apple is "endorsing" for lack of a better term that's 25% off for some reason. I guess after 2016 it goes back up in price. I've had the 24" Cinema Display for 6 or 7 years now. Still works great, but don't want more dongles, having a ton more resolution will be nice, and I kind of want a 27" instead of 24".

Can owners of the Macbook pro's with TB clear something for me ,

Is it possible to set the touch bar to always show the function keys (volume, brightness etc) and never change no matter what app you are using? (so its basically like having the the same experience like the old models)

I just picked up a 2.9/1 TB/460 from the local Apple Store on the way home from work. I'm going to run it alongside the 2015 refurb (2.5/1 TB/M370X) I got yesterday and decide which one to keep.

The Touch Bar is neat, but the new keyboard and Touch ID are amazing...

I ultimately ended up exchanging both and getting a space grey 13" with Touch Bar (3.3/16GB/512GB). I loved the horsepower and screen real estate of the 15", but ultimately the risk of dGPU issues tipped the scales for me. Too bad we can't get a 28W quad-core with Iris Pro in the 13" form factor.

I will post a comprehensive review of both the 15" and 13" Touch Bar units in the days to come.

Now that quite a few people have been lucky enough to have their MBP TB's delivered, when were they delivered relative to the estimated date?

I ordered a 13" TB base model i5 2.9/8/256 on November 4th and have an estimated delivery timeframe of December 12-16th. Wondering if there is any chance of it delivering sooner!

Finally upgrading from my 2007 Santa Rosa MBP to a 13" cMBP 2.9 i7, 8GB RAM and 1TB SATA. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Glad I got this when I did, as I see the cMBP is now gone! Looking forward to upgrading RAM and HD in 5-6 years rather than buying a whole new machine. :)

Well... I am typing from my new 2016 13 inch TB Mpro.

I was going to buy a 2015 model... but I decided that I will have this thing for a long time and just got the newest. Also Best Buy got me down to 1999 out the door for the 500 GB model so basically no tax which is 10 percent here... pretty sweet!

Yes you can set it to do this and it will stay that way even while switching between apps.

Ordered a MBP 15 on day one. Used it for 10 days ... and returned it.

Nice display. Nice form factor. Nice build quality. But, the keyboard is atrocious. Like typing on a brick. So I returned it and ordered a 2015 (just as fast). And no more dongles.

Too bad.

Just got my 13" and one annoying feature (or so they call it) is the auto power on when the computer is off and you open the lid. Is there a way to disable the auto-power-on so when the laptop is completely powered down, and you open the lid, it doesn't boot up?

Driving me nuts.

This may or may not work, I haven't tried it. It's been reported that the boot-chime enable does not work right now so the auto-boot disable may not either. Worth a shot, though.

So I just unboxed my space gray 15" MBP Touchbar custom build ($2799 base + Radeon 460 upgrade). After waiting 4 weeks, we picked it up from Christiana Apple Store in Delaware (tax free). Took a video while unboxing, and immediately noticed a scratch on the right side below the speaker from the factory! Sad to see Apple quality control go down even on the flagship MacBook Pro (can understand high volume iPhones get dust under screen, scratches from factory).

Right out of the box a glaring factory finish defect, and I haven't even gotten to the possible battery and graphics card issues like others have already experienced.

If you were in my position, would you request a return for replacement, wait another couple weeks and ship to home (eat the %6 tax) or drive 2 hours to Delaware again? OR just keep it and give Tim Cook's Apple a break (angry sarcasm). IMG_6630.JPGIMG_6631.JPG

For sure !! Even if it doesn't bore you, it might bore an eventual buyer in the future when you will sell it.
So ask for a return immediately, don't wait or they will say it's your fault

(Joke) it's nice to pay only 6% tax. France we pay a though 20% vat...and it's absolutely not for healthcare (+8% on income)

Well your asking complete strangers to make what should be a logical decision. We don't know how that scratch really got there nor does Apple but we all know if your within your return policy Apple will take it back. I would bet that Apple gets a lot of returns whether it was scratched or dented at the factory, during shipment or from a customer's fault after opening, no way for Apple to know. Most likely why we see so many refurbished units on Apples website.

So I happened to record an unboxing video because I was so excited after waiting over a month for the 2016 MBP upgrade from my 2012 15" retina, when I discovered the defect scratch which changed the mood of my video. The MacBook Pro comes sealed in shrink wrap, and I will post the single raw video on YouTube.
