Everyone that just got a MBP or are contemplating, do you think the Best Buy deal is a good one to go for? 2016 MB with TB is going for 1599. Plus, i get an additional 125 off for being a college student. So effectively 1474+tax

What are the specs of it?

I got a refurb MBP tb 15" on Monday (three days ago) and I'm returning it. Over $3k and I can't type on it. What's really upsetting to me is Apple's response. I didn't get any offer to exchange it, or any suggestions for resolving it. Just send it back. I spent $50 on skins which I unwisely installed (so I wouldn't scratch my expensive new investment.) I also told the sales support guy this was my 3rd MBP but the first time I've been unhappy. I have an Apple watch, an iPad, am on my 4th iPhone, have an Apple TV...so I'm pretty much a fangirl. Nothing. Sending me a link to print off shipping return labels. Thanks, Apple. I'm now considering a PC, a Note 8, and Alexa.

So you expected them to give you a discount or something free because you didn't like a product that you could freely return for a full refund no questions asked? Umm... ok

I don't think it says anything in my post about expecting a discount or anything free....what are you reading? Umm...ok.

I would've expected any company to want to know the reason for a return. If they care about the customer, care about resolving a potentiallly recurring problem, you know, basic customer service. They didn't ask. Perhaps they might have suggested a repair or the purchase of a different model. Nope.

But yes, they did accept my return for a crappy product with a non-functional space bar. Aren't they wonderful.

Really love the helpful post. Keep up the good work. You sure showed me. By the way, do you work in support? You're a natural!

Got my 2017 15" Space Gray MBP, 3.1ghz, 16gb, 1tb with Radeon 560 in mid-August, have been using it almost exclusively for the last 2 weeks now - to the dismay of my OG 12.9 iPad Pro I'm sure... The keyboard is taking some getting used to, but it's thankfully totally functional in my experience (and AppleCare should help if it ends up failing). I don't game like I used to, but it actually runs games that I've tried pretty decently - even the Destiny 2 beta last weekend was pretty smooth at medium 1920x1200 - which I wasn't expecting

So I won some money at the casino last night.

Today I decided to exchange the 13 inch macbook pro with touch bar that I purchased last week and use the money I won towards a 2017 15 inch base model macbook pro.

I originally wanted to purchase the 15 inch but wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the extra money. I really enjoy having the larger screen.

Just bought the 13 / 2016 model with touchbar, 2.9/8/512 at a really god price, with 2 years warranty.

Got the 13 for portability.

Perfect for lightroom ( weddings ) / photoshop on the go and in office connected to my large dell ultrasharp monitor.

It replaces my i7 windows pc as my main computer.

Just edited a full wedding, no issues, yes 8GB of ram is plenty !

Perfect lcd, no pixels, no tints, no bleeding, perfect keyboard, no noises, no nothing.

Flawless at my first try.

Just replaced my 2016 15" with 2017 15" 2.8/256/555 Radeon pro.

i feel the difference and it's totally better. paid 250$ difference 2100$ total. hopefully no more issues.

Got my brand new 2015 13" rMBP i7 with 3.1 CPU, 512 SSD and 16 GB Ram. So far I love it. Coming from a 2014 15" rMBP 750M I thought it would be underpowered but it is very fast and perfect for everything I do. I also purchased AppleCare to be ready for the next three years :)
...Ah, and surely I was in our Apple store and tripple checked those new 2017 nTB but I really dont like the keyboard and the need for dongles. As a corporate client I could still buy the 2015 from Apple directly.

Just got my new 15” tbMBP mid-17, 512GB SSD, 2.8GHz cpu, 16GB RAM on Friday.

This is my first MacBook ever, and first Apple device since my first computer which was an Apple 2 …

Bit of background, I work as a sysadmin. I work in a small multinational team, where our responsibilities are datacentre, virtualization, network, security (we are ISO27001 certified). I have been using various Lenovo laptops and installed Linux on them. But the company I work for, have focused more and more on Windows for employees, so much so that not all things are working properly in Linux anymore.

After thinking long and hard about it, I decided that a MPB might be the better choice for me going forwards. Luckily, I get to order a new laptop every two year, so had to give zero thought to future proofing.

Been setting it up with Alfred, brew, Windows office, Skype for Business etc. over the weekend. Really enjoying it so far, I love the screen, the touchpad (watched a few getting started videos to familiarize myself with the gestures). Finding the touchbar very useful so far (thanks in part to better touch tool).

I can really see this becoming a new favourite laptop, hopefully the keyboard (which I´m really liking so far) will not give me any issues.

The only thing I´m missing so far is kde-connect, thinking I might need to get an iPhone...

moving on from late 2012 pro 13" that is slowly dying on me (one key on the keyboard is not functioning , sound is messed up with annoying distortion noise , battery need to be service, laptop gets very hot , laggy )

so it is fair to say i have used this device as much as humanly possible

making a huge leap into the future

just ordered this beast of a machine in the Thailand apple store website

Touch Bar and Touch ID
• Intel Core i7 processor with quad-core 2.8GHz, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz.
• 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory with 16GB
• 512GB SSD Storage
• Radeon Pro 560 with 4GB of memory.

with edu discount it came up to $2700 (no sales tax in Thailand)

Just got my 2017 15" maxed out MBP after dropping my non-retina 2012. I have to say, although I adored my 2012 MBP, I love this new machine. Trust me when I say I was massively critical of Apple's new direction with the MacBook line ever since they got rid of MagSafe and conventional ports - I thought that it was a shameful betrayal of Apple's pro consumers, but every doubt I had r.e ports, trackpad, touch bar, keyboard have evaporated into thin air.. You can find adapters for really cheap on eBay/Amazon; there's also plenty of USB-C adapters available. The touch bar is genuinely useful and its adaptive nature is totally Apple (think Apple's decision to release a phone without buttons!), although I do believe that Apple should give consumers the option to buy the 15" model without it. You can also disable the Touchbar and have the standard function keys. The keyboard will take a bit of getting used to but I can see myself typing faster than on a mechanical. The screen is stunning and thin bezels definitely welcomed - the first thing I noticed was how much smaller the frame is compared to my mid-2012. The only downside is obviously the lack of MagSafe, but there are rumours that Apple are bringing it back via an attachement. Seeing as on my MBP there are USB-C ports on both sides, I just plug the charger into the side which is closest to the wall in order to tuck the cable in next to me. All in all, despite my initial skepticism/criticism, I've concluded that the MacBook Pro line really are the best laptops available on the market at the moment IMO.

Just bought a 2017 MacBook Pro TouchBar 3.1GHZ and 1TB storage! Received the free Beats Headphones for free! Promotion ends Sept. 25.

My refurb 2015 15.4" MBP arrived this evening. (16GB memory, 2.8gHz, 1TB SSD). Looks absolutely pristine.

It took about 3 hours to restore the Time Machine backup from my 2012 MBPr (256GB). It has Sierra installed and all of my apps seem to be running just fine. I am happy for those of you who are enjoying your 2016 or 2017 models; I had one with a faulty spacebar and I couldn't embrace the new keyboard...but I am happy with this one, and it was cheaper, too. I'll put aside the money I saved towards the next one, but I can't imagine I'll need one for quite a while. I'll be upgrading my iPhone and iPad sooner than that. Back to being a happy Mac camper.

It’s been a while since I posted last - usually in the iPhone, news or Watch rooms - but I just thought I’d say I ordered a new MBP 13”, £1449 model, today.

Can’t wait! It’s arriving tomorrow. Impressed with the one day free delivery.

Replacing my old MBA from 2011. So much looking forward to the upgrade in display quality. Ahh the MBA display has frustrated me for years!

After going backwards and forwards for weeks on what to replace my aging Mac Pro with, I finally settled on a 15” MacBook Pro. I got the top stock spec one with 2.9GHz i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD, and Radeon 560 in space grey. I also got a Belkin thunderbolt 3 dock and new magic keyboard with numeric keypad, and plan to get a matching space grey Rain Design mstand for it to sit on. It will spend most of its life on my desk connected to my Philips 40” 4K monitor.

Hi guys, 2017 MBP has just added to Apple Refurb store in my country (Singapore). I just wanna check if buying refurb is a good idea? Any big difference to buying the new unit? (aside from slight cosmetic defect). Also, I wonder why 2017 refurb comes in so fast. This unit was just launched less than 6 months ago.

I just bought a 2016 MBP Refurb from Hong Kong. I do not regret the purchase. It is indistinguishable from new, got the complete packaging accessories, and no scratches...

Personally, I would just buy the 2016 MBP... Not too much difference from 2017 MBP...

The improved keyboard is only for the 2017 MacBook 12"... Yeah, there is a slight improvement on SSD, Memory and Processor... But it really boils down to the individual preference... Although for me, I'd rather use the difference to get the one with more RAM...

Suddenly got another offer. 2016 touch bar macbook pro at the same price with the refurb 2017 nonTouchbar macbook pro. Which one is better?
