Just ordered the 1.4/8/256. Will be here within 2 hours. :)

I was going to go for the 16/256 but I'll be upgrading next year to the new model so I figure 8GB will be ok until then.

Make sure you check thoroughly the battery’s performance. Just went through two MBPs 13 8/256. First one would shut down at 25%, second at 39%. Apple store I was dealing with refused to give me a third one and offered either to leave my MBP for repair or return for refund, while at the same time not acknowledging that there’s any problem with MBPs of course and kept saying I am the first one with this odd issue.. yeah right.

maybe they are right, u don't see 100s of mbp owners flooding apple stores to say their battery is stuffed.

I'll try a smc/nvram fix and give it a few more discharges to see if it sorts out. If not I guess i'll just return and cross my fingers.
it seems that a certain batch is effected

Just saw on my bank statement that Apple got their money. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get a notification from DHL that my delivery is tomorrow.

It’s been a full week since the status changed to “shipping to store” and it still isn’t ready yet. I’m a little surprised, I didn’t think it would take over a week to deliver an assembled Mac to a store. I know there’s still time in the day left, but I’d think Apple would receive store pickup items early in the day.

Well, it looks like it’ll be ready tomorrow as originally stated on the order confirmation page. Wasn’t expecting this, Apple has a reputation with underestimating shipping dates.

Mine showed up much later than expected too. Mine was a business order and they would not allow me to pick up in a local store. It sat in Louisville at the UPS hub for days on end before the import scan happened yesterday evening. UPS delivered it today.

I finally picked up my new 15 inch MBP today and it's beautiful. The keyboard, Touch Bar, and force touch trackpad will take some getting used to, but it's amazing how much larger the 15 inch looks than my old 13 inch.

And I'm already kinda getting used to the keyboard just typing this.

I had order a new Mac Book Pro because my 2013 13 inch was stolen while I traveling. Received the Mac a couple of days ago and downloaded all my info from my Time Machine backup. Every file I open winds up being saved on the desktop. Doesn't matter if it's a preview picture or a PDF or a word file, it all ends up on the desktop. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening. This are old files that I have saved on my computer not new files. Thanx.

Just opened my MacBook Pro 15" and I love it. Big upgrade from my MacBook 12" model. My only concern is that I noticed a scratch already after 2 hours of use. Its been on my desk so I don't know how I got it.

It would have shipped with that scratch. I’d return it right away for a flawless one, at that price point.

If it’s the base model, absolutely. But if it’s a made to order one, I don’t know if I would wait 2 weeks over a tiny scratch.

Yea I got a base model on Amazon. It’s very small and I don’t feel like going through the process of returning it and waiting for a new one. In reality, small scuffs like this will happen, so I’m gonna have to put up with it.... but it still bothers me lol.

I had a small scuff on my iPhone XS out of the box. I considered returning it, but thought do I really want to go through the hassle of returning it and setting up a new iPhone again over a tiny scratch? I’m sure they would’ve exchanged it, but I cover it with a case anyway. If it were on the screen, that would be a different story.

These companies don't learn a valuable lesson unless you stand up and take it back. Scratches are not acceptable. They are to have a fine attention to detail for the amount of money they are charging.
