Ordered the 16" M1X w/64GB, 4TB SSD in space grey here. (Trading in my 2019 MBP 16" for about $1770 in credit so that helps -- but this is still by far the most I ever spent on a new notebook computer!)

Placed my order on launch day but later in the afternoon.... So far, my order has slipped, with Apple re-estimating its ship date a couple of times now. They finally said it "shipped" (but all I see on tracking is that the label was created). Looks like it might still not arrive until next Friday. :(

Apple accidentally sent me a 16-inch MacBook Pro yesterday (I cancelled this order, but I guess the cancellation didn't process on Apple's end?), and I'm absolutely in love with it.

I cancelled my 14-inch order and I'm ordering a 16-inch now. It should be here between December 1st and the 8th. :)

Got this from work this week when another batch of MacBook Pros to be recycled or re-sold came in:

Another 2012 unibody MacBook Pro, but this time a 13" one. I know I already have the 15" one, but because the 13" model was such a popular long-runner (made from 2012 to 2016), I thought it'd be handy to have. Plus, I can keep that El Capitan SSD in it for running older 32-bit Mac applications...

And of course it'd make a great DVD-authoring machine! Even if I edit a video project on my M1 MacBook Air, I can send the finished video file (with chapter stops if edited on Final Cut Pro) to that MacBook Pro if I want to work with the elegant iDVD menus and themes.

After significant debate with myself on whether I wanted an M1 max, do I go 32gb or 64gb of ram, 16” vs 14”, I’m happy to say I finally decided. Ordered a 14” M1 Pro with 32gb of ram and 1tb drove and I’m actually excited. it will be upgrading a 2013 rMBP.

Anyone upgraded from the 13" MacBook, Pro M1 to the 14" or 16"? Would you say it's worth the upgrade?

I'm confused. If Apple accidentally sent you a 16" MBP, why did you order another one? I mean, don't you already have the one they accidentally sent you?

I’m trading in my 2016 13” retina for the new 14”. I already received my trade-in kit but my new MBP isn’t moving very fast to get here. With all the shipping issues and getting close to the holidays, I suspect it’ll be delayed (it hasn’t moved for a few days). Will they give me longer than the 14 days since I received my trade-in kit if it delays?

Finally got to pull the trigger this morning. 14" Pro 10/16 32GB 2TB in space grey. Can't wait, and my 2014 MBP's looking forward to being sent to the farm.
Just arrived yesterday, was told to expect it from the 24th so can't complain about that!

It's everything I hoped it would be and more. Performance is ridiculous, the screen size is perfect and it's as silent as the grave. Did laugh at the amount of heat and noise coming out of the old one when I was running the two side by side to transfer stuff.

I ordered 10/20 and had a 11/19-11/29 window. It’s estimating 11/23 and when I click on the tracking link it had 11/17 (today) as the delivery day but it hasn’t moved from somewhere in China since 11/12. Then, today my shipping estimate has changed to “The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible.” So who knows.

I already received my trade-in kit but I’m surely not shipping my computer back until my new one arrives. So will probably have to contact them to restart that clock.

I ordered my 16 in MBP maxed out except with 4TB ssd instead of the 8TB on Oct 21st, but got a delivery range of Nov 30th to Dec 7th. I read somewhere that the 4TB are slower to get, I hope that is not true. I am excited to get it but still a couple of weeks before it ships yet. The waiting is nerve racking. ? I am hoping it might come a Bit sooner.

Ordered on Friday Nov 12th. Silver, 16", M1 Max 32 core, 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD. Miraculously I was out running errands about to head home when I noticed a store another 30 mins away had this beauty in stock. I was able to order using my student discount and picked it up within an hour of ordering. Had to contend with traffic but ended up getting the exact spec that I wanted and I could not be happier. Battery life is crazy good compared to my 2018 15" and the fans have not turned on once. I ended up sitting it traffic for over an hour but it was so worth it.

I'm replacing an early model 15" retina MacBook Pro 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. I should have gone for 16GB, but the 8 has held up surprisingly well, even doing iPhone development in XCode. It's still the best notebook I've ever owned.

My knee-jerk order was a 16" M1 Max, 64GB, 1TB SSD. I was going for the high, end, future-proof system, Ship date was Dec 28 - Jan 4. But overall the Max and Pro are benchmarking identically, excepting high-end GPU cases and Final Cut Pro exports (and the real differences always seem to be working with 8K video which is irrelevant to me). The downside is higher power consumption, lower battery life, and slightly more weight. So I cancelled it to reconsider.

I ended up going with a 16" M1 Pro, 32 GB, 2TB SSD. I traded the 64GB RAM for the 2TB SSD ($400) and saved the $200 on the Max. Realistically, this is a more balanced system, and it's more likely that I'd need to be working on projects using lots of SSD space rather than needing another 32GB RAM. New ship date is Dec 15 - 22.

I prefer to use a VM to remote into work, but don't need to. Not the end of the world, but I hope I can go back to that setup at some point.
Me too. I did this exact same setup as my employer blocks so much internet traffic (even parts of their own public website) that it’s really annoying if I need to look something up but can’t due to the VPN.

I used Parallels on my old 2016 MBP and on my M1 MBP (an interim machine) I did the same. Windows for ARM works very well on Parallels.

I’ve since sold my M1 MBP and have been waiting for my 14-inch MBP for over two weeks now. I’ve been using my 2015 11” MacBook Air in the meantime but it only has 4GB of RAM which is rather painful.

What I ended up doing was getting a cheap windows mini PC. I remote into this on my local network and then from the mini PC remote into work. I know it sounds silly - remote in to remote in just to stay on my Mac - but it works well as I can simply swipe through spaces and have everything I need on all my computers. Also since I have everything wired the connection is very fast. I use Jump Desktop to remote in to my mini PC and I find their fluid protocol much nicer and faster than windows RDP.

My card was charged yesterday by Apple so hopefully I won’t have to do this setup for much longer!

I’ll let you know in 2-3 weeks. I just ordered a 14” 32GB/512 M1 Max.
Same config as me, though stayed with 24 core GPU. My M1 Pro was always intended to be an interim machine because my 2016 MBP died in the summer and I needed a computer right away for work I needed to do while on a trip. I ordered on 1 November and my delivery window is 6 - 14 December but I hope that will be a bit sooner.

Mine actually showed up today!

I fear I made a mistake in transferring from my old MBP to new as I’m currently at 709k files ?

Just ordered a 2021 MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro 10/14 32Gb 1TB model with a 10% discount and cashback ontop too, to replace my 2017 MacBook Pro.

Will take a while to arrive I'm led to believe but that's fine. Happy to wait.

Yesterday I ordered the 14" MBP with the M1 Pro chip [upgraded to 10/16/16], 16GB RAM, 512GB. Apple's trade in offer for my M1 mini was enough to take some of the $ting from the cost. Stated delivery date range of December 14 - 21.
. . .
Annd . . . I cancelled that order on November 7 - in favor of giving Apple more of my money for a 14" MBP with 32GB RAM, 1TB inside, and the [same as first ordered] M1 Pro chip upgraded to 10/16/16. The order confirmation cited a delivery date range of December 17 - 24. I did that after watching some YT videos about the new MBP's performance in running Photoshop processing tasks of various complexities; I decided that more RAM and internal storage would be useful for those.

Last night I got an email notice that the MBP has shipped with an expected delivery date of December 3. I called Apple this morning to arrange for the package to be held for pickup at Fedex because of my schedule next week. I think it's safer to go get it, than to fuss and worry that I would miss the FedEx truck when it showed up at my home.

Well my order was placed October 21st with a delivery time frame of November 30-December 7th. I looked this morning at my Apple Card and I see it’s charged now which was 6 hours ago. But not prepared for shipment yet. Probably later today or tomorrow it may switch from processing to preparing for shipment. I ordered 16” maxed out M1 Max only with 4 TB ssd instead of 8tb. Otherwise it’s maxed out on everything else. So I should get it in less than 10 days I hope. About the time frame they stated in the order. ,nov30-dec7. So I am excited and will be watching to see when it prepares for shipment. Won’t be long now.
