Apple gave me $620 for my base M1 Air. Not too shabby.Do you mind if I ask—how much did Apple give you as a trade-in value? Thinking about trading my air as well but want 16” though.

Thank you. When I checked I was offered $590; still unsure. Really wish an Air would come out with a 15”. I would be all over that.Go to apple.com; at the bottom of the page, under Apple Store, there’s a link for Apple Trade In. From there you can enter your information and get an estimate. You won’t know the actual amount until they receive your device and inspect it.

Not sure what you are concerned about? A little spot on the screen that cleans up is probably just a rare occurrence of whoever packaged it touching the screen when they shouldn't have.dear friends, my device (16 inches m1) came and i noticed some stain spots on display after i remove the protective paper on display. They were located on same area and other regions of display were completely clean. I have cleaned this area with cloth and all gone.
Has any one experienced sth like this?
Not being able to have Windows as a VM, or any other OS that does not work with ARM is a big blow and really brings down the usability and functionality of a Mac. I loved that I can have both on one computer, makes me way more flexible and also allows me to test a lot of things out. The other day I installed Windows 11 to run some tests for software we use and see how it all works and runs. Software is ancient 20 year old software that gets used daily. Would cost a fortune to update and really it would not be worth it for the simple task it performs, would be no real gain. I have done the same with Mac OS releases, would install as a VM first and run my apps, setup printers, etc. Make sure everything works, drivers, etc. I am sure there are many other benefits as well. It will be a work around to figure a few things out with my 14" on the way, and I will flat out not be able to do some things.Well I was posting elsewhere and I figured I'd contribute to this thread too.
I actually bought *two* new Mac in the past month.
I think 2015 was Peak MacBook Pro, so awhile back I retired my iMac and bought a 2015 MBP 15 off Craigslist, driving two 42" LG Ultrawide monitors. I do embedded software development all run under Windows hosted in VMWare. It all works flawlessly, even the USB JTAG realtime debugger. Only problem is this Mac has gotten pretty banged up, now the battery is swelling and there's a couple stripped screws on the case so it's starting to open up like an oyster. And the fan runs all the time.
So I wanted a new Apple Silicon Mac, but I still am tethered to Intel/Windows for the duration of this development contract (and any follow-on work). So, I bought two "new" Macs.
1) New MBP16 M1max, 64 GB, 2 TB. This now drives the two 42" displays and is my main machine
2) Used 2015 MBP 13 from OWC, which mostly gets used for development work.
I had bought drives from OWC but never a machine. The ad said "very good." I think "like new" is more accurate. Works great, super happy with it. I neglected to notice the 13s are all dual core (my 15 was quad core) but performance running Windows is good enough for my purposes. I use Screen Share to display the MBP13's VMWare window in one of the two big monitors driven by the MBP16.
The MBP16 is pretty amazing. It took awhile to get my split setup configured the way I like, but so far it's working out OK. I think I will get many many years of use out of this Mac.
