Mine has the same specs as yours and was ordered on Jan 17. Was quoted March 18 - March 31. I'm still waiting for any movement.

I finally ordered a new Macbook which is replacing my max spec. MBP Retina from late 2015.

I don`t need the Max Processor. I ordered the 16" M1 Pro with 32GB Ram and 1TB SSD. It should already arrive tomorrow. Got a great discount because I ordered it through our company. I can`t wait to finally hold it in my hands.

Hi Lambertjohn - what was the impetus to go from the M1 Air to the MBP 14"? My wife has the M1A and love it to pieces, however, I'm holding onto my intel-based 13" MBP and ready to make the move to the 14".
Try the 13 MBP M1 great deals on new ones not a bad option.
A good friend of mine just bought one.
Loves it.

Just got my M1 Max 16". Boy what a beast of a machine! I was prepared to be perturbed by the "notch", but I actually kind of like it.

But this MBP smokes my M1 Mac Mini in raw Handbrake encoding speeds, which used to smoke my Core i7 iMac 2020. lol I don't use the word "perfect" lightly, but this laptop comes very close to that (in my opinion).
What specs is your 16 Pro Max? Thx

Jumped on the bandwagon since I wanted to retire my 2018 15“ Pro for a while now (butterfly warranty coming to a close in a few months). No idea what to do with that device though. Will probably repair it once more for the 3rd gen butterfly (my last repair was a few weeks before these were introduced) and a new battery, then hand it down to parents or a friend. I‘m honestly not that much into selling my devices, I‘m a pretty lazy guy.

Ended up buying the space grey 16.2“ M1 Pro with 16GB RAM and a 1TB ssd (coming from a 256Gb one). Bought it on amazon for a roughly 150€ premium (compared to the cheapest retailer, it‘s still few hundred € cheaper than Apple Store) for the 30 days return policy just to be sure.

My goal is to go fulltime macOS, turning my (aging) gaming PC into a streaming box I can access from my MBP (RDP or Parsec for the occasional gaming session). Wish me luck, I guess.

Buying a Mac from a reseller:

I think it would be a good ideia to sites like MacRumors and other media outlets, to expose this situation, the ridiculous delivery times that resellers are experiencing and of course their customers, it seems that more and more people that ordered in October and November still didn't get their Macs... and apple keeps pushing them to more delays and more and more in back of the line... it's disrespectful to the resellers and the final customer.
This situation needs to be exposed... if you commit to a delivery date you have to fulfill it, one thing is to say ok you have your Mac in 2 month, another thing is to said ok, you have your Macs in 2 months but... we will keep pushing the delivery date further and further, when you have orders that literally wait not even a month being fulfilled if you order from apple's own website or stores.... it's not fair, it is even anti competitive behavior, this is a dick move from apple! this needs to be exposed! on reddit there are toons of people complaining about this... this is just not fair!!!!!

Just stopped here to say that I started using my macbook pro 16 i9, and must say, enjoying it every moment:) nice lachine, so far silent (not heavy user at all), screen is fantastic, really glad i chose this instead of air/external monitor… simple office in one box:) and yes, i know i jumped on intel tech that is pretty dead now, but whatever, until it serves my needs, im fine:)

Oh and for pwm sensitive people, i do not feel any problems, o believe that pwm freq is so high that it does not bother me at all… so, happy camper for now:)

Quick update... I bought my MBP last week from amazon and it's amazing, but they discounted the same configuration by 200€ a few hours after I bought and refused to do partial refunds (I sound entitled, I know, but amazon always does this crap when I buy at their place).

So I just made the decision to return my device and buy another one from another retailer with more specs:
MBP 16.2" M1 Max (24GPU-Core), 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD in Space Grey. Costs me almost a grand more but I've kind of felt the regret of not going for something with 32GB RAM over the last week anyways. I am finally at peace with this configuration and with amazon not making any money off of me in this case.

Will pack my current MBP up for return when I get the in-store pick-up mail for the new one (and then drop the package off the day I go to pick up my Max variant to reduce downtime).

Call me crazy but I feel like this is the best decision I made this month so far.

In 2007 I bought a brand new white (polycarbonate) MacBook laptop. I enjoyed it until just a few years later I found that it had a 32-bit EFI and could not be upgraded to 64-bit. (Bummer!!!) I don't entirely blame Apple for not foreseeing 64-bit.

I enjoy reading about the orders for new M1 Pro and Max MacBook Pros with all the bells and whistles! I ordered and received (about a year ago) a 13" MacBook Pro with Intel core i7 2.9 GHz and bumped the RAM to 16 GB and have 2 1 TB SSDs, one with Catalina and the other with Monterey 12.3 final (using OpenCore Legacy Patcher). I know this doesn't compare with the newer MacBook Pros (especially for video editing and other CPU intensive uses), but I am so pleased with my lowly 10 year old MAC, that I cannot say enough good things about it. I really "lucked out" with it being in excellent like-new condition, and even the battery only had about 200 cycles on it (Simplo brand, so probably original battery). I still get about 4.5 to 5 hrs battery life!

Since I don't have a deep pocket for tech products, if my dinosaur ever dies, I am keeping my eyes to the M1 used market, and I am depending on reports from those who can afford such beasts to make me want one. One day maybe I will buy a new MacBook again!! But until then, I totally love my dinosaur 2012 MacBook Pro!!

First - What model of the 16" did you get? Base Model? And, if so, or if not, how are you liking the performance.

Second, I just bought this one: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/canon-...-inkjet-printer-black/6356231.p?skuId=6356231

I like that one because you can refill the tanks instead of buying the entire cartridge. It is a bit slow, but it works great so far. I've had it almost a month.

Hi @melman101 - I found your post by searching for this particular model printer. Do you by chance still have it and does it work with Mac OS 12 Monterey - either via Airprint or USB? Any other comments re: its Mac compatibility would be most appreciated!

I bought a macbook pro 14" 16gb ram/1tb ssd with apple care on march 9, it got processed around march 15 and I got an email from Apple that my apple care is until March 15, 2025. Is this right? I haven't even received the macbook yet! It's still on the way until now.

Pulled the trigger on a MacBook Pro 14" 16Gb/4Tb with AC+, should be here in three weeks.

I prefer the MacBook Air form factor and like my M1, but am making a concerted effort to go fully portable. After doing some storage calculations decided I needed 4Tb of storage, so went with the Pro and 4Tb option, Apple Tax and all.

I must be the only goober on the planet that really can't tell the difference my M1 Air and the M1 Pro with ProMotion.

The AppleCare is a must. This laptop will go to job sites, get thrown up on by cats (if past history is a predictor of the future), and various other sundry situations.

Studio Display Tilt/Height should be here in mid-May.

Update 04/07 - Found a refurbished 14" MacBook Pro Max 10/24 32Gb/4Tb on the Apple Store so purchased. Could not add the yearly AC+ at time of purchase (only would allow the 3-year option), so will add the annual AC+ at the store (if possible) when I pickup. The CPU is overkill for what I do, but the 4Tb is a must for going 100% mobile/portable at work.

I recently purchased an Early 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro for $150 on eBay. This laptop was non-functional and was sold for parts. Specs for this computer is 2.9GHz i5/16GB. The battery was shot and required replacement and the trackpad cable was faulty so I ordered a new one from iFixit. I had a battery from a bad upper case 13-inch MacBook Pro so I transferred the battery which only had 4 cycles so I knew the battery was good.

Once everything was swapped out and the new Trackpad cable replaced, I installed a 1TB storage drive and restored this laptop. It is nice to be able to restore a unique laptop and have it running as if it was brand new again. :)

I'd been checking availability on the base 16" M1 Pro on the Apple Store since the first of the year and was continually disappointed by the 3-4 week or longer waits for both delivery and in-store pickup. On a whim, I checked again last night (Sunday 3 Apr) and was happily surprised that there was in-store pickup availability for the next day! So I finally was able to get one today (4 Apr)! I am blown away by this computer. I've been using it for seven hours for web browsing, video watching, and some file editing and still have 75% battery.
