Just got this '21 16" MBP straight from the shelf, 16GB/1TB SSD. Came from a 2019 16". This thing FLIES compared to the Intel Core i9, it's unbelievable, makes the old machine feel incredibly laggy. The ProMotion 120Hz HDR is very, very noticeable.

This is not normal, this is way not normal. This is absurd!

Last week bought a '21 16" MBP M1Pro 16GB/1TB also.

The speeds, the screen, the sound system, the battery, the ports on the side, the keyboard, the fingerprint reader, the design its so good

Like Phil Schiller said in 2013:

'Can't innovate anymore, my *ss'

Well I am back. I can't believe I wanted the 15" 6 years ago. Will be playing the Sims 4 on this one too. So that's three MBPs I've played the Sims 4 on haha. Maybe in another 4-7 years I'll quote this and EA will have still not released TS5. There's a rumor this thing will be here in August.

She here and she beautiful 🥺
I ran a bunch of programs on my new laptop and either this thing has the most silent fans ever or they just never kicked in. Truly impressed so far. Hope to keep this one as my main for longer than I did my 13" 2016 MBP. Hopefully see y'all in the 2030s :)

Received my 14" Space Gray MBP M1 Pro (10 core CPU/16 core GPU/16GB/1TB). The machine is incredibly fast and fluid, and the 120Hz screen makes it seem even faster. And the machine charges impressively fast as well -- arrived with about 20% battery and charged to 85% in like 40 minutes (maybe less), though it does have the 96w adapter.

Transferred my apps & data from my M1 MacBook Air with Migration Assistant and a Thunderbolt 4 cable. Man, that was incredibly fast, too, at up to 455MB/sec.

The M1 MBA gets handed down to one of my kids who needs to replace her aging Intel MBA (which sounds like a jet engine). Win-win scenario.

Picked up an Apple-certified refurbished M1 Pro MBP base model yesterday. Unboxed it today but haven’t gotten around setting it up. Gonna take my time to do it patiently tomorrow.

This device looks, feels and is incredible. I think it’s a good purchase even if I don’t classify myself as a prosumer.

Writing this in retrospect but just joined Macrumours so thought I'd add.

I bought the 14" base model and man I'm in love with this machine. I had a 2016 15" tbMBP that died about a month ago (right in the middle of my study week for university exams - Murphy's law lol) and this machine blows that out the water. It's even better than my 2014 15" rMBP I had before the 2016 MBP.

I mainly use my MBP for study whilst I'm at university (which often includes running statistical/scientific programs) or at home whilst docked to my 27" Dell display. I'm also a musician so do a lot of recording on Logic Pro and have been doing so for a few years. Both of my previous MBPs have been 15"s as I've always appreciated the screen size, and so I contemplated getting the 16" but I really don't regret my choice to get the 14" at all. The screen size is just right for when I'm out and about, and it really does feel a lot less wieldy and far more portable than either of the 15"s I had.

Running Logic (or literally any program) is an absolute dream on it. Three of the biggest things I've noticed: 1. The fans literally have not turned on in the month since I received it, 2. It runs significantly cooler than my old 15", which ran VERY hot especially when using Logic or connected to my display, and 3. The battery life is absolutely phenomenal. I used to always have to take my charger with me if I was going out with my computer but now I can fully charge it overnight and take it to a full day of classes and not be concerned about taking the charger with me.

Definitely my favourite Mac I've owned so far, it's near perfect to me.

I was considering picking up a more portable MacBook laptop to compliment my desktop bound and docked silver 16" MBP M1 Max (32/1TB) which is primarily use for work. Vacillated between picking up a Air M2 Midnight 16/1TB on launch day or taking advantage of the $200 off 14" MBP M1 Pro base 16/512 at various retailers during Prime Days. As much as I was tempted by the Air M2 and midnight color, it was a no brainer to pick up the 14" M1 Pro base - went SG this time.

Just got it all setup and man I'm luvin' it... more than the 16", LOL... great size, display, specs and portability.

upgraded from my silver 2017 Touch Bar MacBook Pro 13” to the 16” MacBook Pro space grey and wow, what an upgrade! the best part of this upgrade is not feeling like I’m typing on a brick wall anymore.

After considering the new M2 Air, decided to go with a fully spec'd out (2 TB drive) MB Pro (M1 Max) in space grey.

They both would have arrived at the same time anyway (2-3 weeks out).

Really wanted the larger screen...want to play WarZone when I'm traveling...watch streaming content...maybe finally get into creating some Garage Band content...

Over spec'd for sure, but don't plan on buying anything new for years.

That's a massive difference from the M2 MacBook Air!

The M1 Max, I've read, is a bit of a battery hog due to all the graphics cores, so be prepared. No direct first-hand knowledge, though. But it will definitely serve you well for years! My M1 Pro (10-core/16-core) seems to be reasonably power efficient for my needs.

Yeah...I kind of went all in...hah. That 0% interest on the Apple card just means I pay for it monthly over a year, but no big deal to get something that will be a workhorse for years!

I ordered the 8 cpu, 14 gpu 16GB memory and 1tb storage 14 pro on July 11th and it’s been delivered to my store. I’m just waiting for them to say it’s ready for pickup.

Closest Apple store to me is about a 4 hour drive, wish I had one closer.

I was all set to get a base M2 MBA at the start of the week, but the 256gb ssd hoo ha put me off a bit. Then I noticed Amazon in the UK had the base 14" MBP for £1735, only a bit more than a 16gb 512gb MBA. I was just about to pull the trigger, but then had doubts about the screen size. So, I figured for only another bit more I may as well get the base 16", again for a good price on Amazon. 🤦‍♂️
My last MBP was a 2008 15.4" that lasted me until about 2017. I've been using a 12.9" iPad Pro since 2018 as a laptop replacement since 2018, but I've been hankering for a proper laptop again. Portability isn't an issue for me and after downsizing my iPhone a few years ago, I decided always go big!!

Anyway, I got my base 16" today and would echo all the WOW! comments. This thing is incredible in every way!
I love the style, reminds me of the old MacBooks and the 17" I always dreamed of having. The display is a thing of beauty (so glad I went big), speakers very impressive for a laptop, keyboard feels lovely to type and how big is that trackpad?
I have tried pushing it with anything yet, but it is SO fast even in general use. I can only compare it my 2019 iMac and 2018 iPad Pro, but the snappiness is really noticeable. Again, I'm only comparing to my old MBP, but I love how cool and quiet this thing is! It's definitely not as light as a feather, but nowhere near as heavy as I was expecting for the size.

Lastly, and slightly weird, but I loooooove the smell of new Apple devices. SO happy with my purchase.

edit: Just watched some 4k HDR videos on YouTube....... WOW! Rivals my posh Sony OLED.

UK buyer here. Ordered the M2 MacBook Pro 13” - 1TB SSD / 24GB Ram on 17 June.

Expected delivery date - 25 July - 2 Aug.

I was hoping delivery would be sooner.

Anybody in a similar situation for the same spec?
Still hoping and praying I’d might get a shipment notification this week…. but still the same exepected delivery date of 25 July - 2 Aug. Not too much longer to wait I suppose.

Does Apple have a tendency to ship out the item the day before the expected delivery date? I know they have a history of under promising and over delivering.

I have a MacBook Pro 15 2018 and it still runs great but my wife is using it for school.

I literally check my order status page every morning hoping for a change in status. 😅
