Congrats! Those new laptops are very good but not perfect.
Only minor thing that is frustrating me at the moment is lack of ports. 2xusbc is not ideal. Ideally would like separate hdmi and ethernet port.

I have been testing a couple of usb-c hubs. But have had a couple of niggles.

Sometimes ethernet network connection seems to drop.

Will have to do some more troubleshooting / testing and maybe try another 3rd party usb-c hub.

I would have thought - Apple would sell an official usb c -> hdmi and ethernet adaptor.

But I don't think that is the case.

A minor frustration after spending a lot of money on a new MacBook Pro.

Laptop design criticisms that have been made are not really a problem for me. Would perhaps be nice to have the new screen top notch as the new MacBook Air.

I don't mind the Touch Bar. I like how it is configurable.

But for me it's more to do with the performance, 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

I picked up the MBP 16" pro 16GB / 1 TB at BestBuy with the sale going on. It replaces my 2019 16" i7 / 1TB / 32 GB that will go to my daughter. This new mac is incredible. It is snappier and the screen!!!! I usually would hold on to a computer that is doing the job but I wanted in on the M1 and this seemed like the time while the sales are on. I still have and can use my early 2013 15" and it still works great but this is the way to go. NO REGRETS HERE!

Apple doesn’t make a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, but they do sell Belkin’s:

This is the Apple USB-C to HDMI adapter:

Best Buy had an extra $50 off their already good price of $1750 for the MBP M1 14. Managed to get a new one for $1699. Canceled my M2 MBA order and picked it up today. Very pleased so far.

Got the extra $50 off Best Buy deal today. Base 16", silver. Coming from a 2019 16" and really liking it so far. $2149 is a really good deal for this machine. $1699 for the base 14" is awesome too.

My 2019 had the maxed out CPU, GPU, 32GB ram, and a 1TB SSD. If I feel like I'm running into memory issues, I can return this one and upgrade to 32GB unified memory. So far it's flying though!

Mine finally showed up at my in-law's place Friday night...just a few hours before I arrived thankfully. Haven't been on a Mac for almost 5 years now, so still adjusting. Am trying to use it as my go to work computer from a new co-working space I just started in this morning. I think I have been able to migrate almost everything over from my 100% Microsoft based company and Dell laptop I was issued. So far, so good!

The screen is absolutely amazing!

Bought the base model MBP 16" on Amazon and it was delivered the next day! I didn't imagine I would like space grey but wow, love it sooooo much more than the silver. The display and sound have totally swept me off my feet!

Welcome back to macOS! "I am glad to see you (back)."

I ordered a m1 max 32gb/1tb arriving tomorrow. I was planning to get the 64gb/2tb but it was probably an overkill for my needs - web dev (react and some php projects with mamp pro), mobile dev (react native and flutter) and recently I have started upgrading my backend skills with java(spring boot).

You can have 4 UHD monitors on your laptop

Received my m1 pro 14 MBP base (16gb/512gb). Upgrading from a 13 2015 Early MBP (8gb/256gb). I too was considering the MBA M2, but when upgrading the ram and ssd, the 14 MBP was the better choice for me.
