Just picked up a 16" MBP M1 Pro 32GB at Adorama (via apple insider). My MBP 2015 retina is going to be handed down to one of the kids for school. That MBP should be good for another couple of years!

Nice! Mine arrives today, I’ve always wondered how they ship these things without them arriving broken.

My 16" MBP M2 Max turned up unexpectedly today, which was a very nice surprise: When it shipped, there was no tracking information updated on the website and still none after a week so we phoned our business manager and they told us it was still in China but scheduled for delivery between the 5th and 9th June.

Less than an hour later, a courier turned up at the office with it! Phoned the business team back and it turns out they expedited it for us which meant the DPD sub-contracted out the delivery and that led to a lack of updates of the tracking.

I've spent the rest of the day setting it up so haven't had much time to give it a good test, but first impressions are incredible: I had a 14" M1 Max and thought that was fast, but this beast is on a whole other level

Lucky dip, or possibly unlucky either way.
I ordered a refurbished 13” MBP touchbar A1989 i5/16/512GB.
Not certain if it’s a 2018 or 2019, id be happy with either.
1 year warranty from the store.
Coming from a base spec 2015 13” MBP with OCLP and Ventura.

Maybe a bad model to get and a terrible mistake, but it was fairly cheap imo, especially from a store who have looked after me in the past support wise.

Should be arriving today.

Turned out to be a 2019.
2019-12-09 manufacturing date, 2019-11-25 dated battery with 180 cycles according to coconut battery.
1% SSD life used.
Excellent condition chassis.
Display has a small area where it appears the coating is damaged or stained, one light scratch on the left and the smallest deepest chip I have ever seen in my life (looks like someone stabbed the display with a pin)... None of that is visible while in use even in direct sunlight except the chip and that is only on specific images/angles/brightness etc.

Very happy with it, sure, it would have been nice to get an immaculate brand new condition device BUT that is unrealistinc with a third party refurb, especially at the price I paid.

I love the Touch Bar and I'm loving the butterfly keyboard, my daughter has a M1 Air and I prefer the butterfly keyboard.

Yeah, it’s a very unique feeling. I prefer the Magic Keyboard on my new M2 but I never disliked the Butterfly on my 2017, except the single time a key started giving me trouble. The low travel made it super great for fast typing for me.

In the same way, I loved the Touch Bar, the only disappointing part was the lack of software support. But when I started developing muscle memory for it in things like Illustrator it was as invaluable as keyboard shortcuts. I miss it on the new machines.

Just ordered a MBP 16" (standard M2Pro chip) with 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM via Amazon DE. They have it on sale for 15%. This convinced me vs. the new MB Air 15". I was very tempted to go for the Air but the better display and connectivity (ports) made the difference, especially as the price difference was in the end not so huge due to the sale.
Should arrive next few days.
Question: As I am coming from a 2016 MBP 15" (which my daughter is excited to get) - how do you transfer all the data / programs? Is it as easy as changing iPhones to a new model?

Use carbon copy cloner to copy from your old mac and transfer to your new mac.

I've been tempted to sell my MBP M2 which is the same spec as yours and get the 15 Air - purely due to the weight of the MBP and not needing such a beast of a laptop.

I got it for £1600 so if I sell, I could maybe even make a few quid.

Oops, did some late night mac shopping by accident: I've been thinking about retiring my trusty seven year old Mid 2015 MBP 13" reasons being that the battery is crap and the support of Monterey ends next year so the time is up for this great machine. I was surfing online and by chance came upon an offer I could not pass: 2021 MBP 14" with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD (10c cpu+16c gpu). Price: 2 189€. The newest 14" with similar specs is 2 759€ on Apple's website so I saved 570€ and got all the upgrades I've wanted (mostly more ram and bigger ssd, currently having 8+512). Could not be happier right now, estimated pick up date from the seller is 27th of June :D

Took delivery today of a 14-inch MBP in Silver, base M2 Pro/16/512. I patiently waited for the 15-inch M2 MBA as a potential upgrade option to replace my trusty M1 MBA 16/256 (I needed a bigger display while on the go), but after checking out the 15-inch M2 MBA in person at an Apple Store, the 14-inch M2 Pro MBP still won me over with its ProMotion display, weight-to-performance ratio, form factor and portability since I travel a lot. I could not be any happier with my decision.

Hello all,

I’ve currently got a Late 2013 15” MBP (i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GT750m) and am considering an upgrade to the 14” MBP M2 Pro mainly as mine has developed a few issues over the last decade, mainly in regards to power management and it turning off without warning; not battery related as it’s only had ~350 cycles

Have been looking around a bit and will likely go for either an Apple refurb or a new discounted model from Amazon UK.

Also in the market for a gaming machine but figured I‘ll build a windows desktop for that and buy the base 14” M2 Pro as the lust for a new Macbook is real haha.

The real question is do folk recommend getting the base 14” M2 Pro 10/16c w 512GB storage (£1829 refurb/£1979 Amazon) or the 14” M2 Pro 12/19c w 1TB storage? (£2289 refurb/£2419 Amazon) - Are the extra few cores and double the storage worth the £400 difference?

Hello, I am changing my mid-2014 MBP 2,5ghz I7 16GB with a MacBook Pro 16" Chip M2 Max 38 - 32GB 1TB.

I saw it for 3.785,60 € and I think is a good price. In Apple is 4.199 € the same model. What do you think? I was thinking to wait for the M3 but if is going to be released in Q1-Q2 2024 is too much time, and I think will be expensive and don't know if the difference will be worth it. My 2014 MBP is not working very well with Adobe, especially during the summer when the computer is heated and very slow.

I’ve been planning to upgrade my Refurbished Mid’15 MBP and saw that B&H was refunding sales tax when paid for with their payboo card. After confirming a large project, it was too good to pass up so I ordered a 16” M2 w/32GB RAM.

I just received my new MBP 16" M2 Max with 30GPU 32GB and 1TB. Its a fast machine! Ive been putting it through its paces today and Ive been extremely happy. I was considering waiting for the M3 but I figure if I always wait for the latest and greatest ill always be waiting. If you do pull the trigger on the M2 machine Im sure you wont regret it! I bought mine for day to day use as well as photography and video editing.

I almost got an M1 13“ MBP on NIB clearance from the local AAFES but decided that 8Gb RAM was a bit too limiting (unless the do any further markdowns on them soon)…for $550 - $600 I’d defo keep it!

True, I got the 8GB version just to try how it's performing in everyday tasks. (I have the Mini M2 with 32 GB for tougher tasks.)

If you plan on storing more data or work on larger files, go for the 1TB. Since you kept your 2013 for such a long time, investing into more power and storage now will pay off in the long run. I would recommend 16GB ram minimum, 32GB ideally.

Personally I’m waiting on refurb delivery that’s 64GB with 2TB. This is because I’m on 1TB now and it’s constantly full and requires me to actively manage storage.

Just joined the MBP club today when I took delivery of a 16" upgraded M2 Max with 64GB RAM and 1TB of storage. Figured I should get 10 years out of this thing. Using it for photo and video editing as far as productivity goes. This is a replacement of a 2017 Intel-based Windows laptop. Slowing converting my way to macOS after being a Windows user for nearly 30 years. Have a M1 Max Mac Studio already, so I feel kind of giddy welding this much power!

Just had a refurbished MBP 14" with M2 Max, 32GB RAM and 1TB of storage delivered. It is replacing a base model MBP 13" from 2015, I am assuming that I will get at least 8 years of usage from this model.

Purchased a new MBP 16" with M1 Max, 64GB and 4TB over the weekend for $2999 and no tax from BH Photo. Pretty excited for it to be delivered tomorrow. The specs will probably last me 10+ years, seeing as how I still have my 2015 rMBP 13.

Went through a revolving door of Apple products the past six months trying to find the right one. Since January of this year I've returned a Mac Studio, Mini Pro, MBP 16 M2 Max, MBP 14 M2 Max, and two MBA 15s. I am not proud of this behavior and have never done this before. The desktops taught me I really prefer laptops, but I wasn't quite happy with anything from the current lineup. I had buyer's remorse with the two M2 Max MBP because the price just didn't justify the specs. The MBA 15 was probably my most favorite form factor but left me wanting more power. I loved my 2015 MBP 13 and M1 MBA but my aging eyes really do prefer a larger screen laptop now and I jumped on the 16" M1 Max deal, seeing as it's basically a near-$5000 laptop for $3000 out-the-door. Even an equivalent Apple refurb model is $4100 after tax. I also returned my 4TB SN850X NVMe with enclosure and recouped another $350.

Glad to finally stop the revolving door of purchases and settle down with the MBP 16 for the long haul.

Just took delivery and set up of my 2021 16" Macbook Pro M1 Max, 64 gig RAM, 8TB SSD. 1 year All-State Warranty, but still actually has 1 week of OE Apple warranty. Ebay seller. Highly recommended. Even came with retail Apple box. Battery 99% of new. No physical marks. Prestine- even for someone who is OCD as myself. ~$3700 delivered (9.5% tax).

Apple changed it's Apple Care policy. Will be getting Apple Care next week. Apple is now selling 36 months for $399/monthly increments that you purchase directly from the device. You have 30 days once the warranty expires is what the Apple CS support person told me.
