Similar spec, but 64gb RAM, I ordered on the 1st with 22-29th estimated delivery. My credit card got a pending charge yesterday, so I'm hoping to see something move soon

I ordered a Black 14" M3 Max 16 Core CPU / 40 Core GPU, 64 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD. Original date was Nov 20-22, switched to preparing for shipment yesterday, this morning I had a DHL tracking number and it had shipped. Looks like arrival by mid-next week, although DHL doesn't have a day estimate now (but the package is moving through their system).
I’m in a similar boat. Ordered a 14 inch unbinned m3 max chip with 64GB ram and 4TB HD. It says nov 22-27. Hasn’t moved to preparing to ship and haven’t seen my card charged yet.
Pleasantly surprised by the trade-in experience. In store they give it a basic look over, hook it up to diag for a couple minutes, then give you the value and you can accept on the spot.
A fair number of horror stories about the 3rd party they use seriously devaluing the trade-ins, but I got the full amount - $905, for my base 14" M1 Pro, nearly half the original price. It wasn't mint by any means, probably on the edge of being a "fair" on Swappa (moderate dent + minor screen damage).
My unbinned M3 Max 16" 64GB/2TB moved ahead another 3 days and will now be here tomorrow. Stoked. If they had unbinned 16-inch models in store I would have probably gone down and grabbed one but looks like just the 14/30 36GBs were stocked - not that those are bad machines, but I mainly need more ram and 2TB.
Congrats, think it's definitely better to wait a bit more for the spec you want.
Los Angeles got a nice drop of unbinned models yesterday... something like 6 stores had the black 16" unbinned when I checked (picked up mine in Santa Monica), and I imagine other major cities probably got the same. And silver seems to be pretty available for store pickup on everything last I checked, whether today or the next few days.
Everyone talking about the M3 purchase, I just grabbed myself a refurb 14” M2 Max, should be here Tuesday! my first Apple portable in many years after after going the desktop route
Nothing wrong with that, there are some good deals to be had. From some of the benchmarks, the performance increase isn't earth shattering unless you need ray-tracing.
Despite the charge on my card, mine is still 'processing'. Does anyone know if the statuses can change over the weekend? I'm assuming/hoping the manufacturing and logistics operations are 7 days a week.

I have seen it with prior orders (e.g., iPhone 15) that the device has already shipped and is well on its way, while the Apple site still shows "preparing to ship." Usually, it ships the day the credit card is charged or the day after.

The latest status is that it will be on the next flight out. Apple store briefly showed an expected delivery date of Nov 16th but is not back to 17-21st.

Mine hasn’t moved. I financed it with an Apple card and they charged me the tax the day I placed the order so I can’t even tell if the rest of the order is charged or what. Just checking the site daily and wishing it would ship since my old MacBook is basically unusable at this point.
I saw 2 different Apple stores with black 14" M3 Max 16c 64G 2TB systems available for in store pickup this morning so check your local store if you are looking for that config.
do you know if any of the 16" models with 2tb or 4tb have been available for pickup? and if so.. what's the config?
Also, looks like apples website is having a little problems currently.. anytime you select a MacBook and it takes you to the configurator.. it says the page cannot be found

Try it in another browser, I was getting that on and off with Safari ridiculously enough but not in Chrome. I haven't seen anything but 1TB 16s for pickup though so far. This gen is curiously missing the hidden "ultimate" model that's stocked in stores.
yeah.. I know there's usually one model thats not listed on there site thats stocked.. seems that 14" has there model..
I got a 16" 16/40/48.. Just feels wrong to only have 1tb...
I'll keep my eye out for a model in store.... but probably will end up a BTO.. just don't want to wait..
Keep an eye on big merchants like B&H and Best Buy, I know B&H for sure orders pallets of CTO configs that are often different than apple's pre-build retail models.
It seems like the UK stores have stock configs, but anything custom isn't available.
I am still confused like what to order ... I am a dev (Need to keep open mozilla,chrome with multiple tabs like 150+ , some IDEs, need to test AI tools too etc) ..coming from intel macbook pro... Now I am looking at M1 Max discounted rates & also the urge to buy the latest M3 max

I have seen that in 14 inch 16 core, 64 ram, 2 TB, not on the 16 in yet, but assuming similar coming.
so what are the true BTO order times on the m3 max? anybody gotten order to door in less than 2 weeks?
I talked to a Business Team contact about this and they said stores are stocking a 14" M3 Max Ultimate config with 64GB/2TB this year, but that no stores will be stocking a 16" M3 Max Ultimate config. With M1/M2 generations stores always had a 16" 64GB/4TB config, but not anymore, any 16" above 1TB needs to be a custom order. Apparently this won't be changing as more inventory becomes available. Seems like a strange policy change!
