Dumb question that won’t have an exact answer. How long is it seeming to take for packages to change from “Preparing to ship” to “Shipped”?
Mine took about a day on this shipment. The previous laptop (which I ordered on the day it was announced, and have since returned) took 3-4 days.

After being picked up by DHL in Shanghai last Thursday the package has finally made it to the states. Based on previous DHL deliveries it will likely be delivered tomorrow.
Still stuck with DHL in their Cincinnati Hub with no movement since Sunday and no ETA. Apple estimate has been narrowed down to the 16th from 16th-20th. Anyone else in the US with slow DHL movement?

I keep seeing people who ordered on the same day or after me moving to preparing to ship or shipped. Is the 2TB SSD really that big of a hang up? I figured 1TB would be more popular since so many people use the cloud nowadays and Apple charges so much for storage, but maybe 2TB is the sweet spot?

I ordered my 14/30 max with 2TB SSD on 11/2 and got it yesterday. Originally scheduled for 11/20-11/22. Maybe it's the 16/40 chip that's got you held up?

I ordered the 16” 14/30 Max with 2TB SSD on Oct 31 and it won’t get to me until Nov 20 (according to DHL)… I’m in Florida if that matters

I'm starting to feel like I messed up getting the 2 TB fully maxed CPU/Ram config only because I don't know if 2tb will be enough space, but the computer was already waaaay more than I expected it to be. Looks like mine is stuck in China right now. Hasn't left there in 3 days.

same issue here. It arrived in Cincinnati Saturday-Sunday night and is now "on hold". The last update I got was on Sunday close to midnight:

"Shipment is on hold CINCINNATI HUB, OH - USA"

Apple says either Nov 16th or 17-21st as a delivery date. This appears to depend on whether I check in the Apple App or on their website. Ordered on Nov 1st. Mildly annoyed, but I guess DHL is a bit slower. I also noticed that the DHL updates only show a few hours after the event. UPS/FedEx is more real-time I think.

Thanks for confirming. Same exact thing with my package, as well as the delayed updates. Status just changed to "Processed at CINCINNATI HUB - US" 20 minutes ago.

The China part of the journey is shown only with a delay. Appearantly that is some local restriction that prevents realtime updates of shipping companies. Updates should be more current after the package exits China. I have seen this with both UPS and DHL (I buy computers for my company so I get to track regularly 🤷🏻‍♂️)

The Apple Store app seems to cache the delivery dates or show the original estimate. To get the best estimate check your status on the web site.

Received an email from Apple saying my item has shipped with a new delivery date of 11/22. The Apple store still shows the original 11/27-11/29 arrival date. DHL shows "shipping info received" with no further detail.

My MacBook is scheduled to arrive on Monday. It’s finally stateside after a few days in China. I guess it will sit in CINCINNATI for a couple of days like everyone else, lol

I ordered my 14" Macbook Pro M3 Pro 18GB / 1TB this week at a local official Apple retailer.
Unfortunately, they don't know yet when the devices will come in so I don't even have a target date :(
They do seem to think it might be another couple of weeks, unfortunately.

Curse them for being the cheapest option! I get a student discount but this store has a contract with my uni so I get 15% discount which is even more than the Apple education store. Guess I need to be patient in exchange for a better price. It sucks seeing the devices with pretty much every retailer right now though.. Not sure why an official Apple retailer doesn't have them yet.

This will be my return to Macs since I killed my Intel Air by spilling tea all over it years ago. Used my work's Windows laptop in the meantime but will be changing jobs so I decided to buy my own laptop (especially seeing I'm a student at the same time). I have missed using MacOS SO much though.

Saving the money is definitely going to be the better outcome in the long run. Just be patient (which i know is difficult)

Oh yes, definitely am not tempted to order somewhere else for hundreds of euros more!
Besides, I'm going on vacation soon and the temptation to take my laptop along would be too tempting, so maybe that's a good thing too ;)

Ordered on Nov 13, credit card was already charged on Nov 14 (BTO 14’’ M3 Max 16/40, 48 GB, 1 TB), but still processing and delivery expected Nov 29 - Dec 1.

Interestingly, my credit card has never been charged for my previous order (placed on Oct 31: standard 14’’ M3 Max 14/30, 36 GB, 1 TB) which was still processing until I canceled on Nov 13 and decided to go for the 16/40 M3 Max.

Are BTO orders charged earlier than standard configs? I would not expect a change in status until end of next week tbh…
