iPod just arrived! FedEx tracker says my MacBook Pro has left the FedEx in town and is en route for delivery. It left Anchorage about 4 hours after the iPod so I'm guessing it will arrive a bit later this afternoon.

I'm freaking out over here.

I ordered my MacBook Pro 13 on Wednesday, what version of Leopard will it come with? Latest? I'm wondering because if it comes with an earlier build would I want to hold off on updating it? I dont want to update it and have beachball slow down problems I'm reading about recently with my brand new machine.

Don't worry too much about update problems, the great majority of updates go through just fine without a single hitch. Especially on a newer machine.

I have never had a problem with a single update (minor or major) going back to Panther 10.3.

i am proud to say i have converted over to the real deal macbook pro 15"!

i have a wonderful gf that bought me a umbp for my birthday! i was using a hackintosh for a while and i kept raving about how i like this so much better than windows. i am glad i finally got a real mbp and no longer turn on the hackintosh.

by reading up on how to build a hackintosh, it made me get use to mac osx platform as well as using the terminal. i feel very comfortable with a mac and now very much prefer to use this over windows. and if i ever need to access windows, i have vmware fusion setup already to run windows.

I can finally post in this thread. :D

I've been waiting to pull the trigger, and I did it yesterday. I ordered:

A 2.53 GHz 13" MBP with a 500GB HDD, a 2TB Time Capsule, a 16GB iPod touch (a gift for my brother), and a wireless HP all-in-one printer.

I can't wait! This iBook has been on its last legs for months now.

I just unboxed mine too! :D

I came home from buying a car and had a FedEx door thingie. I was pumped, because I ordered Monday morning, and had a delivery frame of 12-18, but FedEx had Monday on their site.

Between the car and the lovely MacBook Pro, this is a fabulous day!

Oh, and if anyone besides me cares, I got a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE. My third Corolla in a row. ;)

just opened my new mbp!

Hello, thought I would come and share the excitement...ordered my mbp last week and recieved it on Wednesday. (one day early according to fedex!) I unfortunately just got to unboxing it now, was stuck at work the past couple days. Anyways, after much deliberation and obsession, I ordered the 17" MBP, 2.8ghz, 4gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm (almost did SSD but couldn't justify the cost), and glossy screen. I've only used the machine for a couple hours but so far I love it.

One concern I do have is with charging this baby- what would be the proper charging procedure? Only leave it plugged in to charge when needed, fully discharging/charging the battery all the time or what? I know the battery has been said to be good, but I want to take extra care of this thing since the battery is internal. Haven't done much research on this yet but if anyone has any info and would like to share that'd be greatly appreciated :)

Congradulations to all, and let the excitement begin!!! :D

Congratulations on both! Like the MacBook Pro, the Corolla is a great car. We've got the same model. If I ever make up mind an order my MacBook Pro it'll match our Corolla as it's also aluminum color (Silver Streak Mica).

I love my Corollas. My first one saved my life when I was t-boned by an F-250 in the driver side door. I walked away with a sprained finger. I loved that car, but that sold me on their safety too. I'm loving my new Super White LE. :D

You won't regret the MBP when you get it. My only dilemma this evening was whether to go for a drive or play with the MBP. ;)

Wow, you ordered it yesterday and got it today, even with the upgraded hard drive? That's impressive.

So i've just got my MacBook.

Previously i've seen a list of essential/recommended apps to install. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

I was looking for that too, haven't been able to come up with it. So far I've grabbed Adium for my MSN/Messaging needs, and Colloquy for IRC.

I finally purchased a MacBook Pro 13" yesterday....

I love my iMac, but with a change in jobs I needed something portable. So bye bye iMac!

WOW...I love the trackpad gestures. I've never been a fan of trackpads on laptops before but this is even easier than using a mouse!

I love it!

Just placed the order for my MBP. :)

- 15" Antiglare display

- 2.8ghz

- 500GB 7200RPM processor

- 4GB of RAM

Am really looking forward to receiving it. My first days of computing were spent on Mac's but eventually I became PC guy. In the past year I've had to use Macs at my work and I just fell in love. Plus, my Thinkpad has been starting to putter out on me after 4 years of solid performance.

Just received my matte 15'' MBP.

Good choice.
I don't know why but it looks better as the glossy screen.

Well earlier today i hit the button on an impulse buy, and im now waiting for for the arrival of my first MBP, i went for the 15" 2.66 4Gig Ram, 320Gig HD

I decided to go for the smaller HD due to the reported issues with the faster drives, i will look to replace this drive later on.

Apple are reporting this as:-
Prepared for Shipment
Estimated Shipping: within 24 hours
Estimated Delivery: 18 Aug, 2009 - 20 Aug, 2009

is a tomorrow delivery expecting too much ??
