Well its currently out for delivery, if it lands before 1pm then it will have taken less than 24hrs from placing the order to having it in my hands, not bad considering i live out in the sticks :)

Ordered my first Mac! Having used Windows PCs for years (and developed for them), and also used Linux, I've takent the MBP plunge! 17" MBP with 7200 rpm upgrade purchased using my companies EPP discount (better than a kick in the teeth at least).

And now to unlearn all my bad habits! ;)

Will probably be asking around here about Mac Dev kits etc when I get bored (and assuming that the search tool doesn't show up what I need of course...)

Got my 13 inch MBP about 10 days ago. Best decision ever! So excited, coming from a white MacBook, this is a bigger upgrade than i expected, not only because of the build quality but we actually have 13 inch graphcis now!

Learning Photoshop 4 and FCE on this baby within the next year.

i ordered my 15" 2.8GHz 320GB 7200rpm glossy (my first glossy) but i'm using an external matte monitor for graphics work

upgrading from a 17" MBP Core Duo

every Mac i've ordered in the past would get to me in 3 days
but this is my first BTO or CTO or whatever so i don't know how long it will be this time.

On a recent order I placed it took from 4/11 to 4/15 to get from Sacramento, CA to Toledo, OH and then was delivered here in Michigan the next day, so it still may make it. Hang in there!

Man, the rest of you guys are lucky, my 13 inch Macbook Pro BTO shipped on the 11th and is still stuck in transit with a "shipment exception"(the label got torn) in Memphis, Tn. They completely removed the estimated delivery date and haven't updated their tracking page in FIVE days(since the 14th at 8:00 p.m.)...can you believe this *********!! I'm completely in the dark as far as when it's coming or even if it's coming; calls and emails turn up nothing. The idiot I talked to on Tuesday said the package would be here today(which it obviously isn't) and if they don't update the tracking page tonight, they're going to get an earful tomorrow morning, because I'm super pissed. I personally think they lost the damn thing at the Memphis hub. Never Again will I use Fedex, If I need anything I'll just go to the apple store from now on.

I called Suckex this morning and they told me that it will be at my local Knoxville hub at 8:30 a.m. and that they'd call me when it got there; why? Because there's a possibility that the laptop is DAMAGED!! Apparently the box must be all torn to shreds because they're going to open it up there to see it its screwed, if not(pray to God), then it will arrive sometime today, which I'm already skeptical about after being lied to two times already. You can only cry wolf so many times you know? Is anybody else going through something like this now? I've now waited ten days and the tracking hasn't updated in six days. Yeah...I guess I'm just lucky like that.

Well after ordering and then canceling due to fears of receiving a bad 500GB 7200rpm drive, I re-placed my order upon learning of the new firmware.

Next week I will be receiving a 15" 2.8ghz, antiglare MBP w/ 4GB of RAM and a 7200RPM 500GB HDD.

Can't wait!!

First post on this forum! :)

I just got my Macbook Pro 13" 5 days ago, and am completely in love with it!

I'm coming from a previous Acer and an IBM laptops, and was pumped to try out the Macs. Found it kind of difficult to adjust to the system change - but I'm getting used to it.

Also love the blacklit keyboard - a great feature!!

Look forward to using this through the year for school purposes, along with recreational video editing. So far, a 5.0 rating :D

When can I track the order from a carrier???

Placed an order for the :apple: 17" Macbook Pro 2.8 Ghz w/ 500 gb 7200 rpm harddrive and the antiglare screen. :D

It's been stating:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 24 Aug 2009 (Subject to change)

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 20 Aug 2009

Anyone got an idea of when I can expect to have an actual tracking no. ?

It should be delivered monday, but I don't know if I can trust the date since I haven't got an assigned carrier yet.

What do you guys think ?

I can finally post in this thread. :D

I've been waiting to pull the trigger, and I did it yesterday. I ordered:

A 2.53 GHz 13" MBP with a 500GB HDD, a 2TB Time Capsule, a 16GB iPod touch (a gift for my brother), and a wireless HP all-in-one printer.

I can't wait! This iBook has been on its last legs for months now.

Which wireless HP printer did you get? How do you like it? How's the ink usage? Thanks.
