Woohoo, My 17" MBP and 24" ACD arrived today, posting this on them now!

Was a shame I had to wait so long, but the products are always worth it in the end ;)

Now I've just got to wait for my late shipping Snow Leopard order!

Woohoo, my first post on Mac Rumor!

I came to this forum a lot, but never registered, loved to read what other apple users' opinion on other products [SSD is good example].

Anyways, I finally ordered MBP today! At first I was debating 15 inch or 13 inch, then I settled with 13 inch once I realized my 12 inch netbook felt big [I know... hahaha]

I ordered 2.2 GHz one since 2.5 will have no use for me x]

This is weird

My iPod Touch and Macbook are due to be delivered by UPS on the 2nd of September 09.

However, as the Applecare is most important out of them both - its getting delivered on the 31st of Aug.
:(

Omg you too? I am getting my MBP on September 2! And I am also getting applecare on 31st!

Why is Applecare sent on earlier date? Why not all at the same time?

Got my 13" MBP 5 days ago

hello there,

i've been debating about switching from PC to Mac for quite a long time now and I finally took the plunge on Monday.

Bought my 13" MBP from the Apple Store and so far, I'm loving it. It's not that hard to get used to the differences in navigation and at first I was skeptical about the multi-touch trackpad but now I don't think I can go back.

I'm keeping my old 17" HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop for gaming but my MBP will be with me everywhere I go.

As a student, what applications do you recommend I download? For notetaking? I have MS Office 2008 for Mac but is there a better one out there? Preferably free?

Thanks in advance for the answers!

Hey guys!

First Post!!
I've been a long time lurker on MacRumors but have finally jumped ship on Windows.

I've ordered the 2.53Ghz 13" Macbook Pro and it should be coming Tues. 1st Aug!! I'm like a child waiting for Christmas :D

For those wondering about the Printer Rebate offer in the UK, I think it ended in June. There are currently two Rebate offers; the iPod rebate and the iWorks rebate.

Just ordered my first apple computer. After owning and operating about 9 ipods, I jumped on the iPhone craze. I've gone totally crazy for this company and their products. So I decided to give up on windows and just purchased a 13" mbp with the 2.26 ghz processor and upgraded my ram to 4gb and got the 250 gb hard drive. Also got a free Ipod touch and printer!!!!!!

Looks like i'm joining the ranks!!!!!!!!

Should be here in a couple days, I'll keep you updated!!!!!!

p.s. the exclamation marks in no way show how excited I am to get this machine

No need to tell me. I swear time has slowed down. I slept the entire of Sunday (not counting 3pm-4pm for food) to make it go faster :D
It's slightly annoying that I ordered on Weds and could have got it on Fri if I'd been willing to forgo Snow Leopard out of the box.

I got a new MacBook Pro 13.3" today after discussing it with my wife. She gets my mint condition MacBook 13.3" unibody, and she is going to sell her Black MacBook once she gets her files transferred to the hand-me down MacBook. LOL I looked at my ol' MacBook this evening - it looks like the day I got it because I have it in a nice Macally case. Not a single blemish... Thankfully the MacBook Pro fits the same case since I have an extra one.

2.26! First time mac buyer!

Just bought my first Mac!

This isn't the first Apple product I've bought, but it may be my favorite!

I now have an iPhone, iPod Classic, and Macbook Pro! 5 years ago I don't think I owned or thought I would ever own an Apple product :D

Just ordered a new 17' Macbook Pro to replace an ailing Core Duo 15' Macbook Pro
only upgrade i took advantage of was going from the 5400rpm to the 7200rpm hdd.
figured i should reduce the bottle neck as much as i can and 45 bucks didn't seem to bad.
woulda loved to get an SSD but it was too much on a system that was already streaching the paycheck

2.66ghz 15" anti-glare

Just ordered this after ringing up Apple in the UK to get my higher education discount! Came to £1,531.20 with ipod touch and upgrade to full applecare. Hopefully made the right choice in going for the matte.

Although it says estimated to get here on or before the 14th/15th, and I move into uni on the 13th.... Hopefully it'll get here before then.

Damn you! I ordered Friday morning and mine is supposed to come tomorrow!

How did you get it on Bank Holiday Monday? I'm assuming you're from the UK considering your last posts

Sold my black MacBook on Friday morning for $900, it was from last summer. Used the money to buy a 13" Pro, the base model. Nothing too special, but the battery and the illuminated keyboard are definitely worth the upgrade. Selling the free iPod Touch and printer so the upgrade will only cost me about $100.

wow, there is a real buzz of excitement here. understandably so! here's my own nugget of delight:

I ordered my 15" MBP 3.06 GHz 4 GB ram 500 GB fast HDD & MATT display on the 27th Aug and it was dispatched on the 29th Aug. Feelin' super pumped!!!

Here's the rub - the estimated delivery date is the 10 of September! I have ordered several computers from the online store in the past and I don't recall them ever taking this long. what are those couriers up to? having read a few of the posts here it looks like you guys got ur macs fairly sharpish. i suppose the delivery date IS 'subject to change' - i should hope for the better!

i realise this is a post about pretty much nothing, but i'm sure you'll appreciate its hard not to giddily waffle when one's waiting for a spanking new mbp to arrive.

peace y'all and enjoy your new macs!

Yours could be delayed due to the CTO; Matte screen and 7200RPM Drive.

Mine finally got delivered; the UPS van drove by my house no less than 4 times. Now I understand there are other customers but surely he could just drop it off at my door as he went by, it's not like it's a huge detour. [/rant]

I got it half an hour before work so am only just now starting to use it and it's fantastic.
The battery calibration is doing my head in; there's still 3 hours of battery left and I'm trying to kill it as quickly as possible
