I've just had my order confirmation for my 17" Macbook Pro =D

Only things I added was the Anti-Glare screen and a 500GB 7200 drive.

HE discount including iPod Touch & Applecare came to £1863.55

Should be here on the 15/16th September =D The counting begins!

I just ordered my 15" mbp on sept 1. My only gripe is that it's shipping from china during labor day weekend and it states it'll be delivered on sept 9. Very sad and only because I'm rediculously impatient lol. Althought mine is stock with no modifications. Hoping it comes sooner than expected.

Man, that was quick!!

I ordered, over the phone as I had some special delivery requirements, my 13" MBP on Tuesday morning at about 11am. Dude on the phone was SUPER-efficient with taking all my details - a very nice experience.
Came into work the next day, having read the tracking details via email/web throughout the previous evening and when I got up in the morning, knowing there was a good chance it would arrive that day.
8.30am - courier arrives with my new toy, I sign for it, he leaves, and I am left with the AMAZING experience for having purchased and received my new toy in less than 24 hours with the best, I repeat best, internet purchasing experience I have ever had.
I can't believe I am doing this, but I am in the middle of drafting a thank you email to Apple - any idea what address I should send it to to have most effect?
Thanks Apple - I love your products, now I really dig your service.:D

The wait is killing me! I haven't owned a Mac since my 12" PowerBook G4 which died a few years ago. I've been using a work laptop (ugghhh Dell D420). But my new wife (she's been using a plastic MacBook late 2007 one) ordered me a MacBook Pro 13" 2.53ghz w/ 4gb RAM and 320GB HDD. I'm so pumped. I can't wait to use Snow Leopard in all it's glory! I think it should be delivered tomorrow.

Hey guys, first post on MacRumors! :)

After umm-ing and ahh-ing for about 4 months, I have finally booked my Personal Shopping appointment at my local Apple store for tomorrow after work. I have decided to go for a MacBook Pro 13" 2.26Ghz with the 4Gb RAM upgrade, as I am a photographer and want to be able to run Aperture 2 and Photoshop CS3 as smoothly as possible.

Thankfully because I am going to university this month, I qualify for the 15% discount...which makes my purchase slightly more bearable!

Needless to say, I can't wait...work tomorrow CANNOT go quick enough! I shall update this thread once I have my goods! :)

God...I just ordered my new MacBook Pro on September 2nd. I DID NOT customize anything, so it shipped on the 3rd. I also paid for the 2 day shipping. I just logged into the FedEX tracking and saw an estimated arrival date of September 9th. Screw that! I did not pay $18 extra (a miniscule amount I know, but still) to have it arrive 6 days after shipping instead of 2 days. Can someone who has ordered very recently let me know if this happened to them too, or should I still be expecting it way earlier then FedEX tracking says? Bad experience...:( I ordered my last MacBook about 2 years back and got it within 3 days from the ORDER date, and I did the free ground shipping then.

Apparently there is some sort of holiday in Shanghai (where these Macbooks are produced) hence the delay. Your best bet would be to indeed call Apple and ask them. They should refund the charges if they are at fault.

That might explain why I have a 2 week shipping window. I ordered on the 2nd with 3 days to ship (so Monday at the latest) but estimated shipping date is 15/16 September :(

Ordered my 13 inch MBP yesterday (3 September) and it is out for delivery today! (4 September) Just hope UPS don't let me down. In the UK - purchased from the on-line Apple Store (Education).

Got it to go with my 3yr+ iMac. Have a dropbox 50gb account and Mobile Me to help sync things across them both.

Cheers

David.

Come on Fedex, don't let me down :) Sorry just needed to vent :)

Mines was the exact same case - education store and standard config. I think customers who purchase from the UK, get theirs shipped from a warehouse located in 'Tamworth'. My UPS tracker didn't show 'Shanghai' - however, i've seen many international people here saying that theirs is en route from Shanghai.

Yeap, I ordered from NYC, and it's coming from Shanghai. Says today, but it still in transit from Indianapolis. I am getting worried :).

The total distance from Shanghai, China to Anchorage, AK is 4,331 miles.
Anchorage, AK to Indianapolis, IN is approx. 3,009.14 miles.
Indianapolis to NYC is approx. 800 miles. Almost 10,000 miles this computer has traveled!!! Holy crap, I have too much time on my hands :).

Well guys, I finally did it. :D

Went along to my Personal Shopping appointment, and (surely on purpose!) was matched with a Specialist around my youthful age, who was an absolutely fantastic help. I cannot fault the way in which he helped me work with my budget to get what I needed, without pressuring me into buying anything at all - something which some sales assistants are all too keen to do.

This is my first Mac and I am currently waiting for my Snow Leopard install to finish...I cannot wait to get stuck into it and start playing around properly!
