The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

Just took the plunge and got my first mac today. Its the 13" MBP base model. I got it with the student discount plus an ipod classic and hp printer. A snow leopard drop in disc was included. This thing is sweet, I have a lot to learn but I am liking a lot of the little things already- especially the two finger scroll up and down. :)

can i ask you how much memory did sl disk take when you downloaded? i have 15gb's gone and i haven't downloaded or migrated anything. just wondering is that normal?

Same here!!!! It's estimated delivery date was Friday the 4th at 4:30pm. But they completely missed it. And now, Tuesday is the day for me too, I hope.

Aww man... My order changed to Shipped on Saturday morning but no tracking info at the moment. Grrr!

Not to mention it won't be here till the 16th! :(

It looks to me like I freed up about 17gb. I don't know how much of course is due to the new way that they classify a gb. But I will say this was basically fresh and I hadn't added any programs or files to my computer yet.
 
Just ordered a 13" MBP with custom config (taking advantage of the student discount + free ipod offer in the UK)...

But it's saying the expected delivery is the 18th to the 21st??

That's up to 14 days from now! From experience does it really take that long or do they sometimes get the expected delivery date wrong?

(again, UK customer here)
 
My 13.3 inch Macbook Pro CTO should be arriving tomorrow or the 9th by 10:30 a.m. Oh yeah, for those of you who remember this is my second computer. The first one I ordered never got here because Fedex "damaged" it and after a bunch of blabbing on the phone with them I finally just took out all my fury on Apple because they were supposed to send me a new one right away and hadn't done so in a week. So after rattling some skulls they finally shipped out a new one with two day shipping...perfect timing with Labor Day:p. NEVER use Ground shipping!! Just for reference I first ordered this computer on the 6th of August...so for those of you who think it's bad waiting five days, try waiting a month.:mad:

My 13" MBP arrived today, unfortunately it coincided with my first day at college.. Needless to say i arrived home promptly to meet my baby :D i am very pleased with it, i am currently trying to kill the battery as quickly as possible :p the battery life of this thing is bloody heroic!
 
Hopefully tomorrow is the day my MBP hopefully comes, as long as Fedex delivers. Still not sure. I hope so though :).

Well, I just looked at my MBP order form from a month ago and that was labeled as "FEDEX GROUND" and my current order I'm waiting on is also labeled the same, so I don't think Fedex Home Delivery not shipping on Sept. 8 is going to affect us (Home Delivery is another service I think you have to specifically request/setup). :)

My stuff shipped out of Tennessee at like 4am Friday morning, so I'm guessing it's an hour south of me in Milwaukee at the FedEx there not scanned in yet. Planning on it arriving at my doorstep tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Coming straight from Shanghai. Had an estimated delivery of the 4th, but missed that completely. Left Newark, NJ this morning, no update since then. :) The excitement is overwhelming.

My UK education store orders have always arrived when they said they would and they tend to be spot on at predicted shipping/delivery dates. That's not to say yours won't arrive sooner, hopefully (and hopefully not later...)
 
7:51am Eastern time. No updated tracking information from Fedex yet. I know it's early, but I'm getting worried. LOL! I am sorry, just super excited as I'm sure most of you know the feeling :).

Edit: 9:42am - They tried to deliver it but no one answered where my wife sent it to!!! Urrrghhhh. The wait continues.
