Just recieved my MBP 15" Anti-glare. Came 4 days early! With SL pre-installed. This is my first mac and so far I'm loving it! No complaints or faults as of yet.

I ordered my Macbook + free ipod touch on Monday... so hopefully it should be getting shipped today...

Only thing is, I just checked my order status and it says:

Cancelled - Replaced with new product:
IPOD TOUCH (2ND GEN) 8GB-UKT

Not sure what's going on? Why would they give me a new one, I'm planning on getting my money back on this via a rebate. And anyway, aren't the 8GB iPod touch's from last year and this year identical?

I bought a 13" MBP at BestBuy yesterday and it came with Snow Leopard. I didn't realize it had SL on it because it just listed OS X and I didn't know what version number SL was till I Googled it. I went to BestBuy because I didn't want to deal with the crowds at the Apple store with the new iPods and all.

I made up my mind to buy one after trying to share my HP running Vistas Sprint wireless cards internet with my iPhone and had no luck. I got the MBP home, plugged in my wireless card and the MBP recognized it and asked me if I wanted to configure it. I didn't need to so I clicked no. I immediately began sharing the cards internet with my iPhone. Simple and no headaches.

The display is nice and bright and much better than the black MB I bought and sold after four months. The lighting is also even now and the colors don't look washed out.

I'm thinking of installing Vista on it also but so far it's just thoughts. I may just keep Vista on my HP since it works flawlessly on it.

I don't follow iPods close enough to say if the new Touch is identical to the previous model, but generally if you have an order pending with Apple and new product is introduced, they automatically upgrade you to the new equivalent product.

Why would you complain! lol. I'd be happy =D

I doubt Apple released a new itouch exactly the same as the old one lol. They're always making things better.

I'm not really complaining, just worried that I won't be able to get a rebate on it. And the fact that it might delay delivery.

Look at the news stories, the latest 8GB ipod touch that just came out is exactly the same as the previous model. Only difference is it's cheaper, which doesn't really matter in this case.

Oh! Well don't worry about it. I don't think Apple would be that unfair as to switch your product so they don't have to give you a rebate. As long as you bought an iTouch before 09/08/09, at the same time as a computer, then you should be able to get your rebate.

Just a side note: It's not much, but the OS has been updated. I think what everyone was hoping for was a camera and a mic. New features: faster processor, OpenGL support, OS 3.1.

Fair enough thanks.

But the new OS is downloadable for free, and the faster processor and OpenGL support is only for the higher end models. The 8GB don't get them. So once you upgrade the firmware via iTunes, it really is an identical device.

Which is fine by me because I was planning on selling it. Now with no new features in the new model, it'll be much easier to sell :)

My order is apparently on it's way but it doesn't state who the carrier is.

Any ideas who Apple uses for UK shipping?

UPS majority of the times - or TNT. It should be showing up in the 'tracking' area of your account as to who the 'assigned' carrier is.

Well, It currently says 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule'

but under Assigned Carrier and Tracking number is says 'In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.' which it has said since I placed the order on the 2nd.

Got my new 17

After going back and forth between HPs HDX (I actually like these laptops) and other laptops, finally decided on the macbook pro 17 to run win7/osx.

Probably one of the biggest factors was the screen rez, I'm a little old school and I really like the 1920x1200 rez, seems the manufacturers all thing everyone just watches movies on their laptops and only needs 1080. Not to mention the MBP is much more portable than the others. So far I'm liking it, much easier to put in a new hard drive than the old MBPs.

I bought my first Intel Mac today... a 13" MBP (2.53GHz) to replace my G4 iBook which I purchased four years ago. It's been a great machine, and I hope to get the same lifespan out of the MBP.

Fair enough but 11 to 14 days after ordering??

I placed my order for a CTO 17" MBP on the 7th of Sep and the status says "not yet shipped". Delivery estimate is 24th Sep.

Longer than i expected. What happened to "just in time production". They're not manufacturing my MBP now are they?

I picked up a new 13.3" MacBook Pro (see sig) from the local Apple Store this morning. My wife bought it for me for my birthday...she had some money squirreled away for it that she didn't tell me about.

So, needless to say today has been a pretty happy day. I also picked up iWork'09 at the discounted price.

This replaces my aging iBook G4 which I have no complaints about and which ran perfectly over the last four years but was starting to show its age. My wife wants to keep the iBook around so we can both be using laptops at the same time.

So here is to at least another 4 years of fanboyism. :apple:

My wife and I are in the same boat as you. The plan at the moment is to keep the iBook (same spec as yours), although time will tell how much use it gets, so I may end up selling it.

I bought a new 17 inch matte MBP last night. It's beautiful, so far exceeding my expectations. It's not the same as going from my old iBook to my now old MBP, but it's close.

I always loved the design of the Aluminum books, but the unibody design is a clear step ahead. I'll always have a soft spot for my old MBP, though. It's a bit amusing to me that I have two firewire ports with it, vs. one in my new MBP.

The screen is much easier on my eyes, and that as much as anything else makes it worth the money.

FINALLY! I have a tracking number, but it doesn't work on anything as the carrier says 'UK Distribution Center'

No idea where or what that is. I guess it won't be coming tomorrow then =(
