EDIT: Looks like the iPod Touch and Applecare are coming today too... it seems to be a slight delay on the updates but, all is well =)

Shipped to: London, GB: 11 Sep 2009
Current Delivery Status: Shipment dispatched: 15 Sep 2009

I don't have a tracking number or anything apart from the above. Is there any way of getting more information about whereabouts it is?

I ordered it on the 7th, and the estimated delivery date is now the 23rd! It was the 18th-21st a few days ago.

Mine also changed from the 24th to the 23rd. Maybe they're combining shipping to save costs?

wow... this thing dances all over my old Macbook.

The only slight problem I'm having is with the different function key layout and hand placement for typing, but in a few days, I'm sure I'll have it =)

So happy with this machine. Here's to the next 3-4 years =)

Lucky you!

Mine shipped on the 12th but still no updates on tracking.

If i remember correctly Apple told me shipping takes "up to 3" business days. Should have been here by now!

Shipping did take up to 3 business days, as it has already shipped. Delivery time takes 6-10 days for a CTO build (comes from China).

Why do people get the meaning of "shipping" and "delivery" times confused?

Newb here. My short story, I bought a new Lenovo T400 14" to replace my aging 5 year old IBM T42 which runs perfectly if you don't plan on doing anything other than using the internet or MS word. So, I bought the T400, received it a week later, opened the package and the darn thing was slower than sin, making my T42 look and feel like a new comp. The keyboard on the T400 had a hump which caused the whole keyboard to flex, the screen looked unevenly back lit, and again, it was slower than sin...something was seriously wrong. I immediately called Lenovo and expressed my severe dissatisfaction and told them I don't want this piece of crap. After 4 hours on the phone batteling with them and threatening them that I would dispute the charges with my American express, they finally let me return it with no restocking fee and ship it back on their dime.

So, needless to say I was frustrated so I slept on it over night thinking of what I should do. I've always been "interested" in a MBP and decided to plunk down the American Express again. So here's what I ordered:

*15" MBP 2.8GHz
*4GB Ram
*320GB 7200rpm HD
*Matte screen since I hate glossy.

It's saying it should be here on Friday so I can't wait to dip into the Mac world for the first time. I just wish the tracking information from Fedex would change from Shanghai. Otherwise, I'm extremely excited to get my Mac.

Newbie here, long time lurker tho. Just had to post my story after finally finishing the order of my new 15" uMBP.

Back on September 4th, I was visiting Inidianapolis from Philadelphia to visit my g/f's family. We were spending the weekend there and couldn't check into our hotel until 3pm so we parked in a pay-by-the-hour parking lot so we could enjoy Rib Fest in downtown Indy. We left all our belongings in the back of my g/f's Explorer and covered up all the valuables with a blanket. We also were parked right across from an unoccupied cop car, in the broad daylight, in a location where there would be a lot of people around. We thought we were safe.

When we arrived back to the car from Rib Fest, we noticed the back window of my g/f's car smashed out. We ran to the car and discovered that a lot of our belongings had been removed, including my early 2009 white MacBook (my first laptop), my g/f's BOSE sound dock, 2 iPods, plus several more items. To make matters worse, it was also my g/f's birthday :(

To make a long story short, after filing a police report (apparently there had been a rash of break-ins in the area and all victims had out-of-town plates), we contacted her insurance agent who informed us that the majority of the items would be covered by her home owners insurance, so they could be replaced. So after finding out today I would be given a check to cover my loss, I decided to upgrade my previous setup with this:

MacBook Pro, 15", Aluminium
Part Number: Z0GH
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Glossy Widescreen Display
Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
iWork '09 preinstalled
Logic Express preinstalled
Final Cut Express preinstalled
Aperture preinstalled
Microsoft Office Mac 2008 - Home and Student Edition

as well as a 1TB Time Capsule.

I was debating over purchasing this or a refurbished 17" uMBP that I had picked out yesterday. However, when I woke up this morning to make the purchase, the refurbished 17" was no longer available so my decision was made easier ;)

So I get all the same hardware as the 17", minus the HD screen, the longer battery life, and the Express/34 slot, but gain the mobility of having the smaller laptop.

Here's to hoping that I made the right decision, as well as being able to put this entire ordeal behind me!

snow leopard drop in disk

hi guys, bought my first ever mac today, a base model 13" MBP.

from my understanding i would recieve a snow leopard drop in disk or it pre-installed, and the concierge confirmed this.

however after getting it home and unboxing i only had an osx disk. can i ring up apple or the store i bought it from and ask for one to be sent?
or will i have to buy one?

thanks

The included discs don't say Snow Leopard, they only say OS X. Check the version installed by clicking on the Apple and then about this mac. It should be version 10.6 for Snow Leopard.

If the Apple Store is near you, visit them and explain to them whats happened. It might even be worthwhile giving them a phone call.

They will give you a new one, or send a new one out - without charging you.

The person you are replying to has confirmed that the computer is running Snow Leopard already. The disk included is the correct one.

I just ordered my 13" baseline MBP! (Finally...) I can't wait.

It's already prepared for shipment and the only expedited shipping I could get was 2 to 3 day. So when will it most likely arrive? I'm hoping Monday or earlier.

Does Apple ship on Saturdays?

Exactly like me

One thing im not happy with this purchase is that apple and its couriers don't update shipping status to tell us what is going on.

Ive only had two status changes in 10 days and the last update doesn't give me any information at all. Browsing other posts i see sshots of "package has arrived in Anchorage, AK, etc etc"

I don't even know where mine is

I got my 'SD' MBP today and I cannot handle the thought of parting with my White MB - I love throwing it about and doing all the things that I normally do with it.

Does anyone else find it tough to get comfortable with their new machine? For all I see, it's love at first sight for all the other buyers.

I've had my MBP for a week now and I'm too scared to move it around for fear of scratching it. Whereas my iBook got shoved and moved all over the place - in fact it's travelled around the world a couple of times. Not sure I'll be doing that so much with the MBP.

Perhaps in time I'll become a bit more relaxed about it.

Just get a laptop bag or case for it. Don't be scared....really.
