I don't know where you're located, but here in the states, FedEx Home and UPS Ground both deliver until 7:00 PM, I don't know about the other varieties of service, but I imagine it's on their website.

I haven't seen FedEx making deliveries but UPS is common, could be that or one of the local couriers. (some of which are notorious for theft)

Apple rang back this morning with an update.

"Apparently your order hasn't even shipped yet" contradicting the updates on the order status page. Later said it was probably a mistake but they don't know where my MBPro is and they are contacting the warehouse to find out more.

If it hasn't shipped im cancelling the order. Unacceptable

I bought my 13.3 inch MBP at the local Apple Store here on Monday. I'm happy I went into the store to test drive it since I originally thought I wanted the 15 inch but I find the 13.3 to be perfect for my lap and my needs (I'm very petite). I have been LOVING it ever since! I already had an iBook G4, eMac, 3 iMac G4s, and a Mac Mini C2D but this is on a whole different level than them all!!! :D It feels good to finally step into the 21st century. :apple:

Little late in posting but got mine on 9/3 to replace an aging PowerBook G4 1GHz. Loving the more compact size of the 2.26GHz 13". Already doubled the RAM from 2GB to 4GB. Next up will be a HDD. System worked out great on vacation (all hotel rooms had WiFi). Enjoy folks.

Finally got my tracking number. UPS will be delivering tomorrow morning

I know Apple work hard behind the scenes to ship items quickly but why are UK customers unable to follow the progress of the shipment unlike other markets? It hasn't been a positive experience

New 13" Macbook Pro

I just purchased a 13" Macbook pro today, and Im stoked. The keyboard is taking a little getting used to, as the keys seem a bit further apart than the keyboard I am used to.

Any suggestions for applications to install?

Finally my 17' MBPro is here. What an amazing machine. Im blown away. The screen is so bright and the resolution is nice. No more fuzzy fonts and pics!

As soon as i opened the package my cell rang (it was Apple USA). Offered me something small to buy on Apple store for the delay ive experienced. I asked for some credit to purchase apps and they credited my account with $30! Also had a remote chucked in the box. (I didn't order one)

Got my macbook pro 13" earlier this week and although i'm loving it , it seems a bit slow.

Its the base model so i'm getting a 7200RPM hard drive later this week and will bump the RAM up to 4GB in a few weeks time!

If you choose a good 7200RPM drive it should make a good difference :)

Got It!

Picked up my 17" MacBook Pro 3.06 Ghz, 256 GB SSD HD yesterday. It's so fast!
I'm loving Snow Leopard and I've encountered no problems. (fingers crossed)
Hope everyone is enjoying their new mac as well.

Cheers.

Hi guys, brand new forum poster here.

I've been a Mac laptop user since my 5300cs, followed by a Powerbook G3 (Bronze KB), a Powerbook G4, and my new MacBook Pro.

This is my first ever 17". Part of that was the realization that I'm a semi-portable user, but not ready to give up the mobility yet.

Anyway, I love my new MacBook Pro, and the girlfriend is loving the Powerbook G4 hand-me-down. :D

Good news is that it's coming today. Bad news is that once I open it up, I have to immediately do some work from it so customization is going to have to wait til the weekend.

FInally got it! 15", 3.06 ghZ and 500GB 7200RPM drive! Just now getting around to taking everyone's suggestions for installing apps and the like.

It definitely feels a lot larger than the 13" macbook polycarbonate that I had earlier this year (before it got stolen) and I think people are right when they say that the 15" is the "sweetspot".

Good luck to everyone else who is waiting patiently for theirs to arrive.

No point in making a new thread about this so will just ask in here

How much of an improvement will the new intel chipsets (arrandale/clarksfield, whichever they decide to go with in macbook pro's) provide over the current laptop range in terms of speed?

Will probably end up getting one of the current range of MBP's unless the difference will be really noticable

Actual daily use? Probably negligible

Heavy photo editing or video encoding? Probably considerable less time

The MacBook Pro and Snow Leopard compliment each other very well. I was planning to get an SSD drive when my 17" arrived but now i have it i don't want an SSD.

Its super fast, everything you do in instantaneous. No beachballs or hangups/slowdowns. I definitely wouldn't see any difference with a faster processor
