Just ordered a 13" MBP, only went for the 2.26GHz with 2GB RAM, but with a 250GB HDD. Got a nice HE discount on it and AppleCare too (at £46 I thought why the heck not).

It'll compliment my SXPS 16 nicely, which is unfortunately too hefty and not too great in the battery department.

This is going to be the longest week of my life. :(

My supervisor just placed an order for Macbook Pro 15" 2.66GHz 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD for me.

My second mac laptop, I'm very excited! :D hehe

How long do standard configuration laptops usually take to ship? Unfortunetly I can't check the tracking myself, I just have to wait for it to turn up.

Well, the site states that standard config ships within 24 hours, but how it works out in reality, I don't know.

I ordered mine on a Friday and it was delivered the following Monday...however, it is faulty so waiting for Apple to RMA it.

Bugger, just realised HE Store laptops come with 3-year warranty, not 1-year, but I bought AppleCare.

Can I cancel AppleCare and get refunded when the MBP arrives?

Not sure on that one as I think Apple register the Applecare when your order ships if it was ordered with the laptop.

I recently received world that Apple will be replacing my late-07 MBP 15" with a Mid-09 Unibody 15" macbook pro with better specs. I am very excited! It arrives wednesday!

Specs:

2.66ghz Core 2 Duo
9400 + 9600GT 256mb
320GB HDD
4GB Ram

Woohoo! It took a long time to get Apple to do what was right here, but after finally talking to the right person, they happily agreed to the replacement.

The time has come

Well, I finally did it! Placed my order this morning for a 2.53 GHz 13" MacBook Pro, wireless printer, and AppleCare. It will replace my venerable 1.25 GHz 15" PowerBook that is currently in its death throes.

Now, if I can just stop checking the order status every five minutes...:)

Man, why does it take a week more to ship a MBP with a slighty bigger HDD? Don't even have a way of tracking the progress. D:

Yeah this is strange..I don't mind waiting an extra 7 days but I don't see any reason for it?! Should be ordering mine tonight btw ;)

New 13.3 incher here!

First time poster here. I recently just bought the 13.3" Mackbook Pro with 2.53 GHz, 4 GB ram, and 250 GB hard drive at my local apple retail store.
My fourth apple, this is by far the best. Seeing as my last mac was the ibook G4, this is a definite improvement, well worth the money..
I plan on upgrading the RAM to 6 or 8 GB, and the hard drive to either a SSD, or a larger capacity 7200 RPM drive. I am having a ton of fun, and after using an overpriced PC gaming laptop for the past 2 years, its more than great to be back with the Mac! :apple:

Just ordered a 15" MBP - 2.8GHz, 4GB ram, 500GB HDD. Amazon charges $190 less than the Apple Store for this build, and since (for some reason) Amazon.com never charges sales tax, I managed to save a total of around $340. Not bad at all. I used the money I saved to go towards an Intel X25M 160GB SSD - $398 on eBay, brand new. Can't remember the last time I was so pleased about a purchase. Just hoping that Amazon gets the thing out quickly!

This goes a long way to make me forget about that dead pixel snafu with the refurb MBP I ended up returning a few weeks ago ...

Ok this thread is huge so apologies if what I am asking has already been answered but I could not find it...

Just ordered my 15" MBP 2.8GHz 500Gb HD today and cannot wait until it arrives on Monday. 2 questions I have are:

1) What carry case should I get - what looks really great and offers good protection as well as has space for magsafe adapter etc.

2) I have a 22" Dell monitor in work that I bought in January 2008. It has a VGA and DVI port. If I buy the MiniDisplay to DVI adaptor on the Apple store, can I be sure it will fit my monitor? I have heard stories or these adaptors not fitting a lot of DVI ports on monitors.

Thanks

As in next week? Does shipping take a whole week?

6th of October is apparently the latest it'll arrive. I upgraded the HDD so it takes longer to process and ship out than a pre-configured standard unit.

When I customised my MacBook [1] it was shipped direct to me in the UK from the far east. If you buy a 'typical' configuration then they ship you a pre-made unit from local warehousing.

[1] by adding a VGA adaptor - I mean, they must have literally opened the box and dropped one in.

Does anyone know the usual shipping time on a standard config machine in the UK?

hey guys, 5 minutes ago I ordered a 15" MBP midrange with 7200rpm 320 drive and then antiglare screen.

They said i'd be sent a tracking number and confirmation email.

I've read a few posts which have said people in the UK can't track their orders?

It says estimated time is 12th of October, but im optimistically asking for other estimates from people with similar experiences?

Damn, UPS says there's an exception with my package. 24 hours of waiting for a status update and this happens.

Ah, glitch in the system. In transit from Shanghai. :D

two weeks ago I ordered a MPB 15" 2.66ghz, antiglare screen and the faster 7200rpm 320gb hd, at a local apple dealer in Copenhagen. The store said I should expect a 14 days delivery time.

but...

Just learned that apple will ship it the 6th of October, probably means I will have it as late as middle october. Ouch!

Okay, so I placed my order on Monday and my 2.53 GHz 13" MacBook Pro shipped on Tuesday. Great. Then, the tracking information from FedEx gave a estimated delivery date for this Friday. Excellent. But when I track the shipment (which apparently left the "origin facility" on Tuesday), for the last two/three days it hasn't moved and still claims to be in Shanghai (in their "local FedEx facility"). Grrrr.

I ordered it online because I thought that was the only way I could get the academic discount. But my friend said that (albeit, a couple of years ago) she went into an Apple store, showed her ID, and got the discount and her MacBook Air. Is this true?
