I bought a new MBP 15

Good thing I got this because the next day my 24 iMAC hard drive died. Thank gosh for the back up on time capsule! I must say the MBP is nice and even though Apple didn't have a 500GB in stock (back ordered one week) I had the MBP to work on. How can Apple have a hard drive on back order?

Whoo hooo!

Fedex dropped off my Macbook Pro 17 today by way of Shanghai China, Anchorage Alaska, and Newark New Jersey. I'm burning those Chinese electrons in the battery as I type. Seem pretty much the same as US electrons.

This thing is faaaast! And I'm very happy with the anti-glare screen. It seems very comfortable on my eyes. Gotta love Apple industrial design! It's beautiful next to my old HP.

Already downloaded the OS and firmware updates and installed MS Office. I've got our iMac upgrading to Snow Leopard, iWork 09, and iLife 09. In the morning, I'll transfer files from my old HP laptop and get the Time Capsule set up. Then it's time to plug ethernet into both machines and do the initial backups. I figure by Sunday life will be back to normal and I can start some editing.

Yay!

Yes!

Got my 2.66 GHZ, 4GB, 320 (7200rpm) MacBook Pro! Battery is insanely good.

This is my second Mac as I sold my older 2.4 GHz 8600m GT MBP. :p

The weather in Shanghai said it would delay the shipment, but it still came a day early!

Got my 2.53 MBP this morning and swapped out the HDD with the one from my mini before even powering it up! Transition was seamless, even Time Machine didn't mind the change of hardware.

Now got an excellent laptop, with loads of screen real-estate, and a lovely mini (with a 'new' 250 GB HDD) as HTPC under my TV :)

Got my Mabook Pro today!

After about 3 months of disaster. I finally got a brand new 13" Macbook Pro, today. When it arrived, I felt like a little kid at Christmas. I'm really happy with it and I've only had it an hour. Even though I had a hand me down ibook for 2 weeks, I'm considering this my first official Mac. :)

my question is now, which sort of hd fits my apple best, cause i have heard strange stories of vibration or that the macbook rejects the hd.

Now i have laid my eyes on the following hd:

http://www.computerland.nl/ProductDetails.aspx?en=NS00665108

I would look here http://www.otherworldcomputing.com for your hard drive, and then get it from newegg for a lower price.

MBP 13.3" 13 days old.

Had my MBP 13.3" for 13 days now. I am Extremely happy about it. But needing to burn out a dvd today showed to be a minor bump in my happiness.
The superdrive is not working.
So i called apple and talked to the most friendly girl at support and did some tests to confirm the issue.
The best solution ever from any support: New MBP to be delivered next week.
I just want to walk up there and give her a hug. (I live in Ireland where Apple have their European support center. It is just up the hill)

Now i am just as exited as i was before i got this one delivered. cant wait to get the new one.

Lesson learned: test all functions within the first days just in case there is something wrong. :)

Oh sorry I didn't understand that from your original post, I was under the impression that you hadn't bought the drive as of yet. No it will not fit in your MacBook, because it is a 12.5mm drive not a 9.5mm drive, sorry.

After reading this thread for so long I can finally say, with a gigantic smile on my face, that I ordered my MBP 13.3" 2.26 this morning at 8am. And I just got an e-mail saying it had shipped at 6pm :D

A massive massive thank you to everyone on these forums who've helped me pick and choose the tailored solution for me, and settled all my Apple concerns.

This'll be my first Mac, and I really can't wait to see what the fuss is about. :apple:

Hi everyone,

After debating between the 13" and the 15", I finally just bought my 13" MacBook Pro. It has the 2.53 GHz processor, 4 GB of memory, 250 GB hard drive, 9400M graphics, etc.. Though I would love more screen real estate, portability for me had to take priority.

My last laptop was becoming much too annoying to use, and felt like it would fall apart any second. The unibody design makes this notebook feel so much more sturdier than my previous one. Also, the 6-7 hours of battery life is great (though this is coming from a laptop which ran < 1 minute on its battery)!

This is my first Mac, and I am very happy with it so far.

Just ordered my first Mac!

After having an IBM thinkpad for 5 years i thought it was about time I bought a new laptop. After doing some research, I was either going to buy the dell studio xps 13" or the MBP 13". A nervous purchase(saw only one left in stock) I thought the dell would be it. After reading some reviews of some problems with heat and other things I've canceled that order and just put my order in for a 2.26GHz MBP with 4GB of ram and 160GB HDD. This will be my first mac and I'm really excited. ETA is Oct 30- Nov 9. Does it really take that long? The only reason I ordered it online was to get the upgraded ram. Didn't want to risk upgrading myself because I was affraid I'd screw it up. Thanks to all the threads on here that helped me make a decision. Cheers
