I'm coming from a PC ....will I be in for a "rude" awakening:confused: ...lolol

Keep in mind I was going from a 6yo PC laptop (I keep things as long as I can and am cheap) but I love the 15" MBP. It was like going from an old POS station wagon to a high end BMW. I have had some glitches here and there learning but as long as the machine is in good shape (ie hard drive not dead or something) I don't think you will have any truly painful moments. I have even called Apple support a couple times for things (things not the machine's fault like Skype troubles and user error) and for someone who usually HATES dealing with anything like that I have been surprisingly calm as they were so helpful.

I know I am a sample of one and if I had gotten a lemon I might be saying how bad Apple sucks but if my experience is the standard I can say I am happy with the switch. If they would make the iPhone smaller and less shiny plastic I might become a total Apple nerd.

I just bought 13 MacBook Pro-2.53/250GB to replace the MB Air (2.13/ 128GB SSD) that I gave to my hubby.

Well, I love the MBP!! I like the glossy, glass screen, outlined in black (easier to clean) I am able to store all of my itunes/movies.

And I love the button-less glass trackpad.

It's absolutely the machine for me!!!

congrats on the purchase!

i am guessing that coconut battery checks against a database of serial numbers which provide the creation date of the battery. so yes im guessing your battery was made around 2 months ago. that doesnt mean that it hasnt been used yet. it will be fine :)

@ DoFoT9
thanks.
I know here is not the place.
But I calibrated the battery and the Full charge capacity dropped from 5200 to 5113
so is that ok? Is there anything wrong with the battery?

the battery capacity does tend to jump around alot. i wouldnt be too concerned. best practice is to use the battery until 15%-20% and then recharge it fully. calibrate the battery once every 20-30 cycles or so. that is apparently the best way to do it (this month anyway lol).

Usually only one business day at most to ship out and six business days from that date to get to your door if you chose the free shipping option.

Ordered a 17inch uMBP with antiglare, 500gig 7200 rpm HD got a free VGA cable, office 2008 and sleeve! w00t!

The size difference between 15 and 17 is very small; and for the extra cost I get a monitor with an awesome resolution

[MODERATOR NOTE: Please use this thread to post about the new MBP you've just ordered / got / are unboxing / etc. Please DO NOT start new threads on the subject.

Thank you!
:)]

Got the 2.53 with 2-3 day shipping .... hope it arrives by Friday :D

I've been patiently waiting for three weeks when I spilled water on my old macbook (may it rest in peace) and insurance reimbursed me.

Anyone else order one?

I am getting a low range 15" or high end 13" before June. Maybe even an iMac. Can't wait!
