Just bought a 13-inch MBP (2.53 GHz) today. Migration from the old MacBook was a breeze. The only thing was that the FireWire ports are not compatible (the old MB has a FireWire 400 port, the new MBP has 800). Good thing the migration assistant had an option of using the Ethernet, though using FireWire would have been a lot quicker.

love my new MBP :) I got the higher end 13" model over a month ago and its the best purchase ive ever made. last computer was a crappy toshiba thats lasted me (barely) for almost 2 years. this one is light enough i take it everywhere, dont even touch my ipod anymore, and i dont bother with planners or notebooks either.

bet my family/friends pc enthusiasts that my new laptop will last longer than theres haha.

hope you guys are enjoying your MBP :)

Wednesday before Turkey Day, gave my perfectly good iBook to my niece (Her Dell died :( ).

The 26th Street Boulder Colorado Apple Store Geeks promptly (with appointment) refreshed the entire OS & support software to the latest versions and a clean h-drive, making Her iBook almost as good as new ... at no charge! (Thanks Kids!)

Since my favorite notebook was finding a new home, I picked up the 15" 'Pro ($1.7K) there. Proud as punch, happy with it. :D :apple:

It's been 8 days since I got my new MBP 13" (2.26 GHz model), and I absolutely love it. I have had no problems (knock on wood), the OS is fabulous, and the notebook itself is gorgeous.
I was nervous about the "glossy" screen when I ordered it, but I haven't really had any complaints about it except for fingerprints (no matter how much I tell people not to, they always seem to want to touch the screen). I've definitely been using the cleaning cloth regularly.
I got a Speck case for it, so my MBP should stay in great condition for a long time!
Switching from a PC, I expected a huge learning curve and I thought that mastering the OS would take me months. But to my pleasant surprise, that hasn't been the case! I may be a bit slow, but I'm definitely getting used to the OS, and it's growing on me more and more each day!

Overall, I am in technological heaven!

I bought a MacBook Pro 13.3'' 2.53Ghz High End model just last week! :D

So far i'm LOVING it!!!! From being a PC guy and then buying a Mac and actually using a Mac for the fist time, I have been catching on pretty darn well!

Great OS (Snow Leopard 10.6.2), very quiet, fast! and overall gorgeous! :apple:

I can always count on MacRumors for great help too! :apple:

Just picked up a 2.26Ghz 13" MBP at my school's computer store. They were running a one day sale that included an additional 6% discount off their regular student price. Considering their student prices include 3yrs AppleCare and are less than the same package from the Apple Store directly, this was a significant discount. Plus, the fact that I can offset even more of the cost by selling my 15" Santa Rosa further sweetens the deal. :)

Now how to deflect the envy I'll definitely getting from my co-workers... :D

Just picked up my 15" MBP 2.8 with 500Gb drive. I couldn't make myself wait for an online order with a 7200 RPM drive. I love it. I'm planning to run my work stuff in a vm and use this as my everyday machine. :)

Just bought a 13" MBP off eBay. Waiting desperately, while trying to focus on finals. Ship it!

It's gotten rave reviews everywhere, so unless it comes battered and scratched, I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

Although I will definitely miss my BlackBook. It was my first Mac, and I'll always remember it.

I almost want to keep it as a collector's item, but as a student, I'm cash-strapped. What to do?

Hello all, this is my first post here on MacRumors.

I just ordered my very first Mac computer: a 15" 2.66GHz MacBook Pro with the anti-glare matte screen. I also ordered it with Microsoft Office with it. I bought the 2-3 Day Shipping because when I ordered it I noticed somewhere that it would ship within 24 hours. Unfortunately, after I got my email notification that it was purchased, it said that it would ship within 1-3 business days. So far, my experience with Apple has been kind of upsetting. :/ I wouldn't have purchased the quick shipping if I would have known this. Disappointment aside, I'm pretty excited about getting my MBP.

It's taking longer because the ani-glare matte screen is not the defalt so they are making one especially for you.

Got my first mac today (well, if you don't include my hackintosh'd MSI Wind).

Ordered a refurb 13" MBP (lower end model) from the Apple Store website.

The real bonus for me is that it was advertised as coming with 2GB of RAM, but mine came installed with 4GB!:D

Very happy with the purchase.

Just picked up a new MBP from Best Buy a couple of days go. Def faster then my old MBP and I really like the keyboard and LCD display. Putting the other one on eBay so someone will be getting a really nice MBP that's just about 2 years old.

Price match @ Best Buy for $1589.99 (also bought a LCD TV and camera as well)...all with 18 months, 0% interest.

Just ordered from Mac Connection

Ordered the base 13.3" 2.26 GHz base machine, after rebate $1049.00. Considering I'm in California and my local sales tax is 9.25% I saved close to 20%. Should ship today and hopefully arrive before Xmas. Should go well with my iMac. :)

I sent back the 2.26 13-inch MBP I purchased my mother, and I just received the 2.53 GHZ 13-inch model.

So it has the standards specs, 2.53 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, and 250 GB hard drive. I'm glad I don't have to open it up now because when it's a gift to someone, saying you're going to open it up to make it better probably sounds a bit odd.

I paid $1429, but I use the new Pay Phrase, so I'll get $50 back on that. Plus, I used my Amazon Visa that makes me 3 percent ($42.87).

So my total for the retail $1499 machine is $1336.13 . Not bad and I get my free 2 day shipping. Plus no rebate to send in. Best choice for me.

I did consider getting her the 15-inch with same specs for just $200 more. However, I don't think my mother craves screen real estate, sure she only does 1 thing at a time basically and she always says the 13s looks "neat." Hope I made the right choice for her. Again, didn't put it down to the money but what I think she has suggested she wanted before.
