Just ordered my first Mac! It's a 17" refurbished MBP, 3.06ghz. I really planned on getting the 2.93ghz as I'm sure it would be plenty for what I'm going to use it for. However, I couldn't resist the higher speed, especially knowing it would be a touch bit newer. Maybe it's a guy thing, always wanting the biggest and fastest.

I also ordered a Patriot Torqx 256GB SSD. Crossing my fingers that I can swap it out, reinstall Snow Leopard, use Boot Camp, and install Windows 7 (I need Windows for work :() without any problems. I really don't know what I'm getting myself into.

Now I'm anxiously waiting or waiting anxiously.

So is the consensus that a stock model ships faster? What about if you add anti-glare?

Has anyone used the 2-3 day shipping method? If so, how long did it take to receive your order once placed?

Finally pulled the trigger on my new MBP this morning - 15", 2.8Ghz, Anti-glare, 500MB/5400 (planning on swapping it out for 7200)! Now to sit back and wait... got the 2-3 day shipping, so I'm really hoping it arrives by the end of the week. ;)

New to the forums!

Got my Macbook Pro on Monday, and its been a blast to use. Did a photoshoot and started processing photos and its amazingly fast! Hooked up my firewire card reader and this machine is a beast!

Specs

2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo w/ anti glare screen. Rest are standard specs.

Does anyone have a colour calibration that they can share for the anti-glare screen on the June 2009 uMBP?

Thanks

just got a new job and they're getting me a 15" MBP 2.8Ghz with 7200rpm 500Gb drive :)

forgot to say, I'm asked for the matte screen model. My previous machine (see my sig) was matte + I've done a comparison @ the Apple store, and I still think matte is best.

I just got my shipping confirmation from Best Buy that my base model 13" MBP is on its way.

I couldn't find many places that stocked them that would ship to an APO so hopefully in about 7-10 days I should be unboxing it.

This will be my third Mac and first one to buy new. Previously I owned a G4 Mac Mini and 1.83GHz CD Mac Mini. Sold them though because they just didn't suit my needs of a desktop. I'm kind of interested in the newly released Mac Mini Server now though.

I bought it to replace my Dell Latitude D630 with a faulty graphics card. Will be selling that once it gets repaired to recoup part of the sticker price on this baby.

There is lot's to play with

As a MBP newbie I can tell you that you have a lot to look forward to. If it came with Leopard I would really read up before I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I am still adjusting to some changes in how my external display works.

Just stumbled across this thread.

I got my MacbookPro just over a month ago and couldn't be happier. Being a student, it worked out cheaper to buy a new one as opposed to a refurb.

I was swaying between the 2.53GHz and the 2.66GHz models and went for the 2.66GHz in the end. Purely to get a higher sale price when I go for my next mac :)

I needed the portability for uni so when my 1 year MSc is up I think il be downgrading to a 13" uMBP and getting me a nice 27" iMac. Can't wait!

Ordered my uMBP (my first Mac) on Monday, and eagerly anticipating its arrival. Should be here in a week or so & then I get to spend some quality time putting aside 20 years of (mostly) Windows-only experience and learning OSX.
