Well guys, I finally did it.

Went along to my Personal Shopping appointment, and (surely on purpose!) was matched with a Specialist around my youthful age, who was an absolutely fantastic help. I cannot fault the way in which he helped me work with my budget to get what I needed, without pressuring me into buying anything at all - something which some sales assistants are all too keen to do.

This is my first Mac and I am currently waiting for my Snow Leopard install to finish...I cannot wait to get stuck into it and start playing around properly!

So my MBP 13" standard spec has arrived today - just over 24hrs after I ordered it.

Extremely impressed so far - from the way it is all beautifully packed, to the first time the keyboard starts to glow, gives me that warm cosy Apple feeling all over!

I have ordered 4GB from crucial which has shipped so that might give it a bit more oomph, but at the moment I am not complaining about the speed - it is noticeably faster than my 2ghz core duo iMac which is just over 3 years old... come to think of it I might ebay the iMac and upgrade to a 24" apple display for this...... hmmmmm.

God...I just ordered my new MacBook Pro on September 2nd. I DID NOT customize anything, so it shipped on the 3rd. I also paid for the 2 day shipping. I just logged into the FedEX tracking and saw an estimated arrival date of September 9th. Screw that! I did not pay $18 extra (a miniscule amount I know, but still) to have it arrive 6 days after shipping instead of 2 days. Can someone who has ordered very recently let me know if this happened to them too, or should I still be expecting it way earlier then FedEX tracking says? Bad experience... I ordered my last MacBook about 2 years back and got it within 3 days from the ORDER date, and I did the free ground shipping then.

Ordered my MBP late on the Sept. 2 & upped it to 500 memory ~regular shipping. It's in Shanghai Fed-Ex now, ext arrival the 10th. So you gained a day perhaps?

Damn I hate Fedex. They had it from 3:50am, in transit indianapolis, in. Departed Fedex 6:15pm Indianapolis, IN. Probably won't get it till next Tuesday now! :-(

I hear ya man, I'm waiting for a shipment as well that probably won't arrive until Tuesday. I'm so happy it's Labor Day (no school!) because I have classes from 9am-9:30pm on Mondays, but I'm bummed it's Labor Day because theres obviously no FedEx deliveries on that day

Try to forget that you're expecting it, keep it out of your mind somehow. (impossible) lol

According to fedex, my MBP has departed and shortly after arrived in Memphis TN, about 7 times in a row? This has got to be a tracking error. Anyone else ever experience this?!

can i ask, to those who have recently bought a mbp and installed the snow leopard software - how much memory did it take up? i just got the laptop today and installed the snow leopard software and it says that i have used 15GB already. Is that normal? did anyone do a clean install or just simply stuck the cd in which i did!

Don't worry about, same thing happened to me - my Apple Care CD/Booklet package didn't get to me until nearly a week later, no big deal.

If it's in Alaska today I'm sure it will. I ordered mine on a Wednesday afternoon and got it 2 days later on Friday in the afternoon, I'm in Wisconsin.

My mouse/keyboard are on there way from Tennessee right now, projected delivery is Wednesday, but if it wasn't Labor Day I'd be expecting it on Monday - so Tuesday will have to do. I'd bet you'll get your stuff on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Your lucky. I think mine missed the plane so it won't be in the US until tomorrow. I hope mine gets here earlier than Thursday too!
