The salesperson I ordered with was Erica (many different ways to spell that one, but I'm sure her identification is on my order), but she confirmed it with her supervisor, Renee. Renee's ident is APL-Renee. Supervisor.

Anyway, she said it was date of receipt, not order date.

I'm sure there is some fine print about it somewhere. And, I'm in the States. I don't know if being in the UK would have any bearing, but wouldn't think it would make a difference.

P.S. - Just looked on the store.apple.com/us site. (I assume they will have something similar on the UK site) Along the very bottom, there is a link for "Returns and Refunds".

Basically, if the price lowers within 14 days of receipt, you can get a credit for the difference. (I assume a refresh would drop the price on the current model). Also, you have 14 days from receipt to to return a product. If opened, hardware supposedly can be returned for a 10% restocking fee. I don't know if that would be negotiable or not.

Anyway, I'm sure it's all for not. I can't imagine they will take their eye/marketing off the maxi-pad anytime soon. Certainly not within 14 days of tomorrow. (My scheduled delivery date :) )

I bought my MBP in the US also. I'm in California for the next two weeks, which is why I was so eager to purchase NOW, because I save a bit and prefer the US-layout keyboard (I could never get used to the gimped left-shift key on these UK keyboards). So, thanks for providing those names and I don't know what I'm hoping for more...new machines on Tuesday or no new machines for at least two months! =)

After following the arrandale thread for soo long its now clear this is the thread I should have been reading! These people make sense!

It's a useful thread if you want to ease your conscience for your patience buckling you mean?

No offence to the people who've bought equipment, I'm sure it'll do you well, but to someone who looks like they've been waiting, you should wait a little longer unless you're forced into the current model.

I can't wait forever and it had begun to feel that way! Good luck if you think the stick is worth it tho ;)

What is the TOTAL weight of packaged MBP 13? I.e. Mac, charger, box, documentation, DVDs.

Is it 3.6kg, as stated by Amazon?

Puqq,

My MBP 13 is enroute. FedEx has it as 9lbs/4.1kg.

Must be a heavy box. :D

I got my first MAC!! It's a 2.26 ghz 13" MBP and I love it! Tired of waiting for the refresh (since Christmas) so I picked this baby up wednesday after being sort of disappointed but this thing is amazing!! couldn't be happier! :apple:

Just picked up a 2.53 GHz 13". Campus store was having a $100 off sale (so $200 off w/ student discount) that ended today so I figured I'd pick one up and let it sit in the box for a week or so just in case.

seriously though **** apple and their bull**** tactics. oh and **** the iPad.

IPad vs Macbook pro

Why everybody thinks there will be no macbook pro refresh cause of the marketing of the Ipad? No one who is in need of a full functional computer like the macbook pro would buy an Ipad instead. Sure they will do on the apple webpage marketing for the ipad the next few month. But with the ipad they are heading on compleatley different consumers then for the macbook pro. So just relax and you will see a macbook pro refresh in February or latest March. There will be no media conference or intesive marketing but why should they as the macbook pro is not a new product. It just got refreshed.

I am so enjoying my new MBP!!!

So glad I didn't wait like all the other yahoo's on here.

Man, do I love this laptop!!!! :D

You will probably be one of those posting "do you think I can return mine for the new one?" threads in a couple of weeks :)

Congrats on your new machine
I am sure it will serve you well

Lol!!!

True dat!!

For what I needed it for, it made no sense to wait for the latest and greatest.

But, I do have until the 13th to do the "return within 14 days" dealio. So.....

I am glad that you needed to post a separate thread to tell everyone how happy you are with it. There is already a running thread that is stickied to the top of the page with a title called "The I just ordered/bought my new MacBook Pro".

Your post here seems like you are looking for justification on your recent purchase even though everyone and God knows that the new line is being updated soon. Sounds like you will have buyers remorse soon. Anyway, if you are happy with it that's great. Please post that in the appropriate thread.

Congratulations on your new laptop and passing Grade 3

Let's see.....one of us did research, using known facts, and made a decision.

The other is holding his breath, stomping around, begging for apple to release some unknown update. Like you said, "Come on February".

And who is acting like a third grader?

You're my favorite newbie, just an FYI. :)

Shamwo, dude really?

Congratulations!
Everyone is always saying "buy it if you need it", and you're right to not hold your breath. The machine you just bought will be just fine.

Continue to enjoy your new MBP :)

Hmmm - I think you know there is a 75% chance you just made a poor decision or you wouldn't have started this thread in your pathetic need for reassurance. Well hopefully you can return it and get a new one next Tuesday. :) ... luckily the resell value will still be very high.
