EXACTLY!!

Don't listen to the naysayers. You've got a week 80ish machine, which means Apple worked out all the production glitches and bugs before they made yours. I wouldn't buy a machine at the beginning of the next production run right after a CPU switch.

Although your machine may not be the fastest in the world in a couple of weeks, it will be fine. And when they work the kinks out of the Arrandale machines, then you can buy one of those.

You will probably be one of those posting "do you think I can return mine for the new one?" threads in a couple of weeks :)

Or "The unofficial "I'm hoping for Apple to replace my MBP" thread…" :D *kidding*

89.

Good point about production adjustments. I bought a new i5 iMac when they came out. We've all heard about the display issues with those.

Take a peak at what this forum looked like when the current line was first released. Plenty of freaking out about small-ish issues and hardware/software conflicts. The question is, was it the result of paranoia about new models, or where they genuinely riddled with little quirks? (The unspeakable third option would be people still encounter the same issues, but use this forums search function to avoid redundant questions...I wouldn't bet on that).

Why people insist on being rude for no reason is beyond me.

Cheer up people!

I'm with you OP. I bought mine in the first week of January in the midst of all the impending update talk and have loved it every minute. I don't know how I went so long without a multi-touch trackpad. Using my girlfriend's HP is almost painful.

Same here. I have had mine for nearly 48 hours and I am not sure why I put up with PC's the last 10+ years.

I couldn't be happier. Replaced my WM phone with an iPhone in August and now my fourth PC in 5 years with a 2.53 13" MacBook Pro.

The reason I bought a Mac was proven to me while in the Apple store. A woman was there at Genius Bar with her PowerBook. She had it 7 years and the hard drive was just starting to make noise. 7 years damnit. My last PC lasted 2 freakin months before I had to reload Win 7.

I will gladly drink the Koolaid at this point :D

I got my 13" MBP on the 13th of Jan, and I can't put it down.
I have a 24" iMac and I'm mostly using it just to watch movies and listen to music, it's taken a backseat to my MBP. I honestly do not know how I went this long without owning one.

I have had my 13” mbp since the 3rd week of October, and I really love the little thing I think there is no doubt that mac’s are a little too expensive for what you get but after all my problems with HP and windows and other friends problems with their Vaio’s or Dell’s I needed to change.

With edu discount it actually came in at a fairly reasonable price for me especially compared to similarly spec-ed laptops in the UK, my only gripe was and is the HD size on the base model (the one I have) it should be at least the same as the macbook surely! Having said that my old laptop had a 160GB HD and I didn’t fill it up. Still for the price a bit better at least is needed.

OS X tho is my favourite thing. Expose, and Spaces I really like and just the simple nature of it all. Garageband is also one of the simplest music programmes I have used to make rough demo’s. safari is fast. I feel like I was eating mcdonalds for years and then someone gave me like a gourmet burger. Haha.

(I’m not ever going to be a fanboy though, I still like mcdonalds…sometimes ;) )

just bought myself a 13 inch 2.26 ghz macbook pro. This thing is so quiet and fast. Honestly my best mac and first new mac. I always wanted a macbook pro once apple came with this. I had to have it. Im going to upgrade the memory to 4 gigs and hd to 320 myself.

The best part is now i can bring logic studio to my day job and work on ideas in the office

Shipment information sent to FedEx

From looking at that, I ordered last week Friday and put 2-3 days shipping. Should I expect it tomorrow or shouldn't I hold my breath for a hopeful prize tomorrow?

Thanks in advance. I'm seriously chomping at the bit to get a hold of this treasure. . .

It's been my experience with an i5 iMac, a 13" MBP, and a Time Capsule that is due tomorrow....that FedEx's information has been very accurate.

If they say it's going to be there I would expect it. Don't forget to pre-sign for it if you're not going to be there. (Assuming your front porch is safe....)

Enjoy!!

Holy crud. You live in Wisconsin which is up north but was Alaska really the easiest/cheapest/fastest place for them to ship from? I would think things would only get shipped TO Alaska not FROM there.

Alaska is a common stop for shipments coming from China.

Custom ordered my fully-loaded MBP. Arrived from China within a week (got it about 5 days ago) via regular delivery. Runs great and can really notice the difference from my old 2.2ghz MBP. Battery life is far improved too. I always get 15s as I find the 17s not as portable.

I couldn't get it from the shop as I wanted it customized and they don't stock top of the line models. Anyway, just about to load FinalCutPro up and put it to work.

Specs: 15.4", 3.06GHz, 8GB Ram, Anti-glare screen, 500gb hd at 7200rpm

I used the education discount and upgraded from 4gb of ram to 8gb of ram a few days after taking delivery.

I ordered my custom 17" 3.06 antiglare a week ago myself knowing that there would be updates soon. I upgraded from a 15"unibody to the 17" and I am so happy that I just ordered the same exact model for my girlfriend yesterday. It has more than enough power for my pro apps. I will be updating on the 2nd revision of the newer models.

No regrets here whatsoever!

Still would have made sense to wait a week or two to get more for your money though...
