Just wondering why so few people choose the 15" Antiglare option? While waiting for mine to arrive I was looking around youtube & google images to get a better idea of what I was getting & found 2 videos on the whole of youtube & nothing on google images, yet tons of the 17". I would have thought it would be quite in demand on the 15", or does nobody take pictures?
I didn't want the Antiglare option because I've always had glossy/non-matte displays on my PCs. I'm used to it already. The MBPs have the best looking glossy displays, so why switch to a matte one now?
I know the benefits of having matte displays though. My mum has a MacBook Air and it really does save the hassle of finding a good spot to look at your screen outdoors.

. Just can't justify the price for C2D though. Hope you enjoy your new laptop!Tired of all this refresh nonsense - went to Apple Store yesterday and picked up my 2.53 GHz 15" MBP - which is light years ahead of the Dell Studio 15 it is replacing.
I've just decided that waiting for something Apple may or may not do is crazy. After all, look what they did to the iMac line - you have to get the absolute top end iMac to get a new "i" chip. I think it is very reasonable to assume only the 17" and maybe the top end 15" will be upgraded for now; then they will work the new chips into all their products over the year. After all remember Jobs said that "this year" we take our hardware to a new level.
Also asked myself what I was really paying for - a laptop that "just works" with a fantastic OS vs. a few ticks of CPU time.

don't the 2009 macbook pro's have black borders??? my 13" does and the one on the apple website does...
The anti-glare option has a completely different screen enclosure to the glass model, it has an aluminium bezel like on the previous generation.

picked up my 15 MBP 2.8 last night, drove an hour and a half one way to pick her up, then got lost in the parking garage to get out and head home. stupid garage has paid parking, and there was a cash lane but it just made you drive in circles. stupid mall.
I came from a 08 15 mbp which i sold when i lost my job, stupid car payments. but nnow that i has new job i has new toys. also picked up 4 more gigs of memory and the new magic mouse.

Yes i do realize that... I do not believe that the update will be significant enough to wait and wait. If it happens next week, too bad, but the current model suits all my needs. thanks thought.

Just checking, because I know some are horrified when they find out an update could be imminent. There are no guarantees it will be soon. I agree, the current version is a great computer and will serve you well. Congrats on your purchase! I know what it is like to await the arrival of a new addition with great anticipation. Hopefully it will not be delayed and you will have it in your hands soon!

I just picked up a base model 13" Pro on Friday. Suits my needs just fine, but still hoping for the update this week so I can get a bump for free. That's what happened when I bought my iMac last March. The Apple store didn't charge me to exchange. I love the MacBook though! I didn't get any extras, just the base 13" with Apple Care on the student discount.
I just got my 15" MBP 2.53 Matte this morning. My mom actually woke me up and handed me the box, so I was all morning. I'm loving the silver border and the matte display, I had the glossy for my first semester as sort of a loaner, and I could not stand the finger prints that would get on it from people touching it and what not lol. I rang Apple and the rep said everything was still ok and the order is in early stages.
