Ok I am going to have to comment its killing me. :D

Whenever I see this thread in ForumSpy I can't help but laugh because it reminds me of Eddie Murphy.

The Imacs Are Coming!!!! Mom, The Imacs Are Coming!!!!

Ah, Delirious, possibly the best stand up DVD I own. :D

Watched it last night ironically ... can't beat the part after he imitates his Father ranting at the family barbecue, and he says he's sweating and some woman shouts, "Take It Off" only for a man in the audience to reply, "Shut Up Bitch"! :D

Cut to Eddie applauding the gentleman in question before stating, "Ya'll didn't know I was a ventriloquist too"!

Wrong, they do, they get advanced warning so they can update stock codes etc, It's not just Apple that sells them you know. It also allows them to clear there stock out. I doubt Jo blogs on the shop floor or store managers have a lot of warning but I bet the people high up spending big money on stock do.
Anyway, take the Macbook/ Pro updates, we all saw updated stock codes and inventory from famous suppliers BEFORE they were launched officially.

Anyway, on topic. John Lewis a major retailer in the UK has no stock online for any iMac model, neither do they say they will email you once they are in stock. However the Mac Pro isn't in stock either but they will email you when they have some. Make of that what you will.

And please, of course I know that it's not just Apple that sells Macs, but having worked in retail, I know some suppliers (mainly electronics) can be b*stards at telling you when you're going to receive more/new stock.

By advanced warnings I hope you just mean about a week before, if that... I don't think I've ever seen retailers accurately say when any (recent) product was going to be replaced, and it turned out to be legit...

Please link me though, I'd love to be proved wrong.

I went in my local apple store yesterday and the person with the colored shirt on and a apple logo and badge (Must be an Apple rep with all the upcoming info) said that Apple is doing so well that wen the new mini comes out, Apple is giving every American a brand new Mini for free so that Apple can do it's part to jump start the economy. He called it the "Apple Bailout".

lolololololol that would be awesome though:apple:

I think Apple has lost it's mind. :D

Brother Sam I feel your pain. The last 2 months I was sure new iMacs were coming. After last Tuesday came and went - again - with no new iMacs - I said screw it. I got in my truck and drove 2 hours south to my closest Apple store. They had the 3.06 GHz with the Nvidia 8800GS, 500 GB HDD and 2 GB of RAM in store so I grabbed it. I also picked up some Bose Companion 5 Series speakers today which look like they were made for these iMacs (not to mention sound astonishing) as well as bumped the RAM to 4GB.

All I can say is wow. This machine is a beast. I have no doubt that it is more than I need now and will remain to suit my needs as it ages. Not to mention that Snow Leopard will only prolong it as a force. I just can't throw enough at this thing.

In short, I'm much happier reading the pining "should I buy or wait" rumor posts while I jam, create, work and game on my new 24 inch beauty.

So consider me an example of one of the few who pulled the trigger. Well one of the few who pulled the trigger pretty late in the party because let's face it the updates ARE COMING!

This all being said you all can thank me because now that I did buy this beast the new iMacs are certain to drop this coming Tuesday!

itommyboy, ooh I so understand you :) I actually went to a local Apple reseller a month ago and I was ready pay up for the 3.06 GHz, luckily they were sold out....then I went to my other local reseller, which sold the damn thing about $200 dollar more expensive than the usual price....I have certain principals, I'm not that desperate. and luckily that made me decide, I will wait for the refresh.... But god damn it's a pain to wait and I would have bought it then if I had gotten it right there for the official price. I'm still not sure if I'm happy or sad I didn't get it. I'm sure I would have been super happy with the current model, ...but I have friends who haven't followed the apple cycluses and bough a week before a new one came out, and even if they are happy with their products it's still a painful experience to see your "brand new" mac drop like 1/3 of the price in a week and that the lower model of the updates most likely has better specs than your top of the line.

But I respect you for doing it ! I wish I was that strong....or weak ;)

ok! if you go to www.dicksmith.com.au you will see that the imacs macbook air etc have 10% off. all of a sudden they have discounts to clear stock at like every store ive seen!!

THIS WAS A GOOD THREAD I SARTED AND IT MIGHT BE ACTUALLY TRUE!!

Confirmed!

Just talked with our Apple educational rep and told us to wait next week to order the new iMac! :)

Jesus, another newbie (this is their first post too!), another leak, seriously, these newbies are good at getting information out of apple, maybe we should send a newbie to Infinite Loop, all the employees there will blatantly willingly divulge secrets to them about in production products...

Because it's the first time i post it's can't be true? LOL

As a college we buy Apple **** all the time and we wanted to buy 20 new iMac's and he told us to wait next we because the new iMac is coming out. That's it. End of story. Directory from Apple Canada educational rep.

No rumours. No "leaks".

It's just funny how it's always the newbies who always claim to have heard this or that from Apple reps, or a friend who knows someone who works at Apple.

FWIW, I'd rather be constantly negative, and be occasionally proven wrong, than be constantly overly optimistic and always proven wrong...

Please, throw more insults around, it's great...

Maybe you should believe people who work in IT and talk with Apple, Dell, HP, Cisco.. etc..

On the other hand... I guess you'll be wrong AGAIN!

Get used to it.

Well, I guess you'll be wrong AGAIN!

Get used to it.

We'll see

Of note, you have no proof that you work in IT, you could be some 13 year old 4chan troll just trying to wet the appetites of Apple nerds for all I know.

Also for someone from the IT industry, you seem to have a very childish mentality, or does that come with the territory... :D Burn

It's harder to adopt a pessimistic mentality, but atleast you're never disappointed...

Then again, it's hard to believe someone without any track record posts be it true or not. :)

So has been said before, "We'll see."

If your rumors true then you have no need to brag, log off and come back in a week and I'm sure everyone here will send you a coupon to applebees or something. Everyone has a right to be skeptic, without a recording of your call you have NO PROOF. your just some random guy posting to a rumors board.
