I am one of the ones who thought the iMacs won't come for a while, but a few factors have perhaps changed my mind.

1. Configuring any iMac model on Apple.com takes the shipping to 3-5 days. This suggests that pre-built models are ready to ship out, but if you wanted to customize, you'd have to wait a couple of days because perhaps production on the current model has stopped, so you have to wait until new models are out.

2. The pages for all Macs except the iMac list them as shipping with iLife '09. iMac still shows iLife '08. I don't think this was a mistake...This again suggests that production has stopped, and the inventory they have already boxed had iLife '08 in it...

If it is indeed true, then Apple has been really secretive about that this time. iPod event we got almost everything. Same thing for the Macbook event and the conference in january.

And I don't know Apple would release the Mac Pro this week, as the new processors are still in production.

Well at least it´s narrowing down now to an update around a near corner. Things happens quite fast now, 2 weeks ago some shops were saying that stock is low and that they cannot order new ones from Apple. Now, a large number of retailers are out of stock. If this keeps on going much longer, there won´t be any more iMacs to sell.

That German site has 2 articles clearly saying that they have insider info from Apple that new iMacs are to be released by early March (Tuesday 3rd)...
They also say that production of the new iMacs has kicked in, and the new models are expected to start shipping by mid to late March.

Do you think they are pretty genuine?

I'm pretty sure the current iMacs ship with iLife 09 as my refurbished 24" iMac came with iLife 09.

According to AppleInsider, Amazon isn't selling the 3.06GHz model anymore...

Check for yourselves...

I was just checking the store, and everything seems to be normal... All models come with iLife 09, I can order the 3.06 and it comes next day (2-4 if I add anything to it) and theres nothing that I can see thats out of the normal...

In the Dutch Apple store (online) it says iMac's come with iLife 08. On the bottom of the page is a link to a 10 euro upgrade to 09 though.

I really hope the iMacs get an update! I've been looking at buying an Apple for some time now and I'm close to really getting one.

Mac Pro = probably not this coming week.
iMac = very good chance of coming out this coming week.

I'm a skeptic... This info seems to sketchy for me... all of it, when it comes down to it, we're basing all of this on what a few people say they heard from people who might not even know for sure, and shortages of iMacs that could be do to any number of factors.

I would not say there is a "very good" chance, maybe a better than average, but not a very good one. Very good is when apple announces that they are coming out on a certain week, and you hope they are not delayed.

That being said, I do hope they come out before the 15th, that would be absolutely perfect for me

I really can't believe this thread is still going. This thread has been beaten to death so much that if it were a dead horse it would've turned into asbestos by now and engulfed many of the moderators, shrouding them in a thick haze of spam and CRUISE CONTROL.

I just checked Amazon UK don't have them either.

I don't think they ever did.

I'm tempted to start a thread. "I've heard that iMacs will one day be refreshed." I am soo accurate. I tried to say iMacs and minis, but that would be moving into shaky ground.
