Any ETA on Hiya making the contacts upload an option instead of a mandate? I'm also wondering if there is any benefit to Hiya, truecaller, etc versus just paying Verizon 2.99 for caller ID in terms of seeing who is calling me. I don't really need the spam filter because I use Google Voice and take extreme delight in blocking those spam calls right from GV, which means they don't get near my phone.

As mentioned above, Apple is not approving any new apps or updates till iOS 10.1 releases. Message me if you want to try the beta.

I haven't seen any mention of Whoscall, but it's highly rated in the App Store. Has anyone had any luck with it?

In the US App Store the current version has 101 reviews/ratings with a 4.5 star average and all versions have 131 reviews ratings with a 4 star average.

Sounds like some other countries/regions might be different (looks like the included screenshots only has 6 reviews/ratings and one that is showing up gives it a bad rating because it works somewhat differently than Android, and that review is from almost a year ago before the new CallKit suppoet became available in iOS 10).

Hi guys, you can try CallBlocker here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1154832936

Call Blocker is an identification & call blocking app that takes advantage on the brand new CallKit API on iOS 10 and identifies or blocks unwanted calls from marketers, automated robots, debt collectors and scam callers using more than 200,000 records of phone numbers.

These ****ing calls are happening to me more & more each week. Of course I don't pick up and I block it but I think I'm going to start answering just so I can **** with them.

Why wouldn't it? Hiya has been working for me without any problems before 10.1 was even out
Whereas it's never told me a call was spam. Ever. Even when I look up the number in the database after and it has many reports of it being spam. I've never known if it was actually working or not.

Perhaps some parts of it have been, but there was a known issue within iOS in relation to these types of call blocking apps in iOS 10.0 (as has been discussed earlier on the thread) which has been addressed in iOS 10.1.

Well i did a search for Truecall and got an ad for Hiya at the top of the results. A two fer.

I still don't understand what you do get in these apps if you do not allow access to your contacts.
