Full disclosure...I caved and got the Presidio Grip for my 8 Plus, same exact one that Kristin reviewed. It’s sooooo dreamy!! :p Lots to like about this case!
My pleasure! That color combo is awesome. It really is a very nice case.

If I bought another, it would be the Eclipse Blue and Black.

That case is real sleeper. Using it one handed with the Plus is great. Might be throwing it back on again soon.

Been using the Grip last couple of days.
I like both a lot. Along with the silicone and the Symmetry. I just wish the black silicone wasn’t such a lint magnet.

Exchanged black for red tonight on the last day of my return window.

It's nice, but it's a lot more washed out than the red ones used to be, which to me is a negative. Better than the black though, just wish it was as wild and vibrant as my wife's old iPhone 6 red one.

The purple one is still the best though, so vibrant.

Anyone can tell me how to get rid of that air bubbles (?) from the casing?

You could use a very, very light coating of baby power on the interior of the case, before you install it. As light as you can apply it. I’ve seen that done before.

I received my Speck Presidio Grip, black/black color.

Speck made some nice upgrades. They added more rubber grip lines. Speaker cutouts are still backwards compatible, but now look better in my opinion. The cutouts are just cut slightly larger. Much better look than a round microphone cutout, a slit and another slit. Materials are supposedly upgraded, so the grips don’t wear as quickly like the original Presidio Grip had issues with.

Note: If you want the upgraded Presidio Grip, you have to order the one for the 8 Plus. (will work with 6/7)

If you’re looking for grip, this thing has plenty of grip. I never feel like this case will easily slip from my hands. Super grip on this case. The buttons are very responsive and clicky. Scratch resistant polycarbonate back. The fit on my 7 Plus was excellent. It will fit the 8 Plus as well. There’s a decent lip on the Presidio. The Candyshell Grip definitely had more lip, but the Presidio is slimmer. Slimmer form factor and 10 feet of drop protection is pretty good stuff.

I really like the case overall, but not sure I like it as much for the $45 asking price. I paid $18 on eBay, from a super nice forum member here. If you can get this one on sale, think it would be a much better value at a lower price point. That’s just my observation and preference. You may love this case at full price. Hope that helps.

Looks sharp !

Here are the two case I currently have. The one on the right is the Spigen Liquid Armor (1st gen designed for the 7) in black. The one to the left is a random case I got from AliExpress. It's a lot thiner than the Spigen one and it has a fabric material. It feels pretty nice and reminds me of the cases Amazon has for their Kindle HD tablets.

I'm sure the liquid armour does a good job, but don't the grooves on the back fill with dirt/grime etc. over time?

I have the same presidio Grip. Very nice case indeed.

The Presidio Grip seems like a popular case on this thread. But isn't anyone concerned about the California Proposition 65 warning this case has? "This product contains chemicals known by the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm". I just saw it on a Presidio Grip review on YouTube.

I've already returned the UAG Pathfinder case because of that warning. I've heard it's a California thing, but I have the Spigen Liquid Air Armor and Incipio NGP for my iPhone 8, and those cases haven't got that warning on the box, while those companies are also California based. I might be crazy for returning a case for that reason, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

It appears that businesses decide whether they put the Prop 65 warning labels on their products or not. OEHHA has no information from the manufacturers. The way it’s explained here, it almost seems like it’s up to the company’s discretion?

If this is the case, many companies will put it on every box or package to cover themselves from possible legal action. That’s just a guess, but seems plausible.

https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cance...bels-based-on-californias-proposition-65.html

Businesses decide whether to put warning labels on their products based on their knowledge of the types of chemicals in them. Manufacturers are not required to provide the OEHHA with any information about the products. That means the OEHHA doesn’t know which chemical the warning refers to, how exposure could occur, or how much of the chemical a consumer is likely to be exposed to. All of these factors are critical when determining how much risk it might pose. The OEHHA cannot offer information to help consumers figure out what the potential risk is and how to avoid it. These kinds of details can only come from the product’s manufacturer.

Unlabeled products

Products that are sold outside of California are not required to have the warning label even if they contain substances that might cause cancer. Some companies that sell products all over the US only label those sent to California, even though all their products contain the same compounds.

So far I had it for a week and haven’t had issues with it. The grooves aren’t too deep so wiping it down is pretty easy if you had to.

I’m really learning towards getting the product red leather case for my SG 8+. Does anyone have any experience with it? I really like the darker red this year but it would be the first leather case I get that’s not black. Not sure how it wears over time.

Someone PM'd me on another forum to post pics of how all the SILK Base colors looked so I and I wanted to share them here as well:

Really like the blue. Shame it’s not for sale in the UK.

How much ‘grip’ does it actually give? Are we talking presidio grip levels or standard TPU case?

I’m one of those who thinks the standard size is too big. Only upgraded to the 6s because I thought they wouldn’t actually release the SE. But anyway. I always like a case to give a lot of grip because I have tiny hands.

I’ve bought a lot of cases that claim to be grippy but very few are. So how good is the silk base at providing grip?

Don’t want to go to the trouble of importing it only to find it’s no more grippy than a TPU case.

I actually just ordered the Caudate Synthesis. They are now drop rating to 3m, same as tech 21. Should have it within the week. looking forward to the stealth black

For me at least it is the bast case in terms of grip. Of all the cases I have (12) This case is the only one I use now. The second I put it in my hand it pretty much never left the case (only for pics of my phone with other cases on it). I can't speak for the presidio grip as i have never used it.

Here is the video that convinced me to purchase this case: (Really good review IMHO)

I own both cases.

The Base Grip is a really great case. Nice grip and easy to handle the larger Plus in one hand. The grip is sort of a light rough surface throughout the case. Pleasant feeling in hand. $12 bucks = great value.

Having said that, the Presidio Grip has more grip. More of a rubber type feeling grip. If you get a grip of the case, it’s not sliding in your hand. The thing is, you’re paying $45 for it and not sure if it’s a great value at that price.

I have both as well and I think the silk is a far better deal. I like the speck but not at $45.

For the same price as the speck I can get the base grip and their armor Case. You can then choose which you need for each situation.

Things are priced differently here. The speck cost me £19 the base grip is £13 so there’s only £6 difference between the cases.

the is a significant difference.

Here, the silk is 11.99 and the speck is $45. At that difference, the silk is a much better deal.

I totally get your point based on the price you have

Yeah. It’s odd as most companies basically just swap the $ for £. But amazon sell the speck cases for under £20. The base grip is £10 but then because it’s an import there’s postage so works out around £14.

I don’t actually think the presidio is as grippy as the candyshell used to be.

Kinda torn between ordering another presidio in a different colour (I have the purple) or trying the blue silk base for something different.
