Are you familiar with the Evutec Selenium? That’s what I’m currently using and I think it’s fantastic. It has grooves around the perimeter of the case to enhance grip there and the back is nicely textured. Soft, but not slippery and highly resistant to prints and scratches. I have the Smoke Silver version.

I hope the link I post works. As an FYI - they do not yet make (not sure if they will - Evutec seems impossible to get a hold of) an iPhone 8/Plus specific version but I have the 7 Plus version on my 8 Plus and it’s perfectly fine.

How tightly does it fit? I tried an evutec before and it was pretty loose around the edges.

It snaps on nicely and does feel secure. I’m pretty picky about the fit of my cases and this one I do feel safe with. It’s not AS snug as their AER cases but the inner border allows for it to be semi rigid while also making for easy installation and removal. I do not feel like it would ever accidentally come loose if I dropped it. The edges, at least for me, do not have much “play” to them unless a deliberate attempt was made to make them move.

I had the Karbon SI for my 6s Plus, so this is definite change for me. However, I really enjoy the product(s) Evutec makes and I’ve been pleased by this one.

I feel like advising a case that gives you a feeling of security and style in small dimensions.
I’m talking about the Ultra-Hybrid, 2nd generation, by Spigen.
Compared to the 1st generation, the TPU bumper is harder and not foldable (which is better and safer).
There is still the crystal clear, scratch resistant polycarbonate back cover, which is premium.
The great improvement is the camera and flash hole: while in the 1st generation there was space between the back cover and the back of the iPhone (with accumulation of residues and dust), now a frame has been added that surrounds the entire opening in the back cover and adheres perfectly to the back of the phone.
Really recommended product.

Not a lot of protection, but if you want a minimalist case, this one is excellent. Great feel......almost like your using a naked iPhone, but with better grip and protection for the back.

FYI - don’t make the mistake I made assuming a case for 7 Plus would fit for 8 plus. If u do buy one branded for 7+ make sure u are able to return if it doesn’t fit. I bought a skech matrix clear case at TJ maxx in sept for $7.99 (retails for $34.99). Said it’s for 6s/7 plus. I assumed it would fit since most cases for 7 plus work and are being rebranded for 8 plus. The camera cutout / bottom cutouts match the 8+. Its tpu along bottom/ buttons but the rest is hard polycarbonate material. Well I finally got my 8+ this week and I was wrong lol. Its a really tight fit. I managed to get it on but 2 days later I was cleaning my case and noticed a crack on the back side by the volume buttons- I thought it was the phone but thankfully when I removed the case I discovered it was the case from the interior side (I have not dropped the phone). It’s too late to return it for my money back but I don’t feel 2 bad since it was $8.

Thankfully I had a second clear case already from amazon (Matone / its all tpu but not too soft) and it fits fine but I prefer the higher lip protection on the skech, so I will keep looking.

Picked up the Zugu Social Pro case for my 7 Plus. Works for 8 Plus too.

Slim and very grippy. You don’t feel like you’ll drop this case. Slimmer than the Speck Presidio Grip for sure. Matte finish, so no fingerprints and feels good to touch. Fit is good. Much better than I remember the 6 plus version being. For $9 bucks, it’s very good value. Not sure how it would handle drops, but claims 5 feet drop protection. Member here said they dropped phone in this case several times and no issues. I used code share10 to get 10% off case. Pictures attached.

Second picture is more representative of the black color. Hope that helps.

Anyone have a recommendation for a case with a kickstand? Looking to buy an 8+ in the next couple of days/weeks, and want to have my case first.

I think after trying a bunch of cases I’m going with the Apple silicone in black. The Apple cases just feels so good to hold compared to some of the others. I think it’s the rounded design. Speck grip felt awful to hold. I also like the I can take the case to Apple once it gets torn up. The usually just swap it out without any trouble. It’s grippy too. Only downside is the lint which I’m learning to wipe off. Overall great case with extra points because it’s so easy to get a warranty replacement.

So they cover normal wear and tear under warranty ?

I just put on my Loopy case after not using it for a while. Wow!! I forgot how amazing it is to use this big phone with a loopy. It feels so secure and I can one hand everything with ease. Taking pictures and watching video are improved as well. It’s a great case. Without the loop (I took it out at one point) the case has had plenty of drops and the 7 Plus was in perfect condition before I sent it back to Apple. Also, great buttons. Highly recommended.
