That isnt what he said. He said he feels he is downgrading getting a iPhone 12 and never mentioned he prefers iOS. I think that you just prefer iOS and make these type of replies often with no merit.
Just like the Airpod replies saying most prefer this and that while somebody else shot your take down lol.
Well for one that air pods claim was clearly wrong seeing as standard headphones do not just automatically switch from one device to another without manually switching it. From my experience only this happens on IOS...in fact it’s an iOS 14 feature. Maybe the person was confused by what i was talking about but normal Bluetooth headphones certainly do not switch automatically but i don’t see the point going back and forth on air pods not when it’s clear the meaning has got lost But hey if it means that much to you i will reply and state so but quite frankly i don’t see the point.

yes I do prefer iOS as it simply works better for multiple devices for my needs but i still use and enjoy android very much just like in your replies you can tell how pro android you are And quite frankly thats fine.

I think its pretty safe to say you do the same thing, just in the other direction.
My direction isn't stating things as fact like you have done twice now. And I agree, it don't matter and isn't worth a back and forth.

I do prefer Android because it does more and is alot more customizable and yes for me, easier to use.

Neither are perfect and both experience negative things and I don't like Apples way of making you think they know what you want and need and charge you for everything.....like a
Charger for one thing.

Yes it's said Samsung might be doing that as well and if they do, I won't buy their products either , although they do give you incentives while Apple does not.

I'm using a Pixel now as SS phones are also too expensive for what I want to pay and the ones that aren't are too big.

I haven’t owned an Android phone for 8 years now and the closest I’ve got to using one lately was a work colleagues Samsung S10 when I was helping him set it up. Can’t say it caught my attention though. Is it bad that I’m happy enough with the iPhone that I only consider it every time I upgrade and don’t check out Android? Or is it a sign I’m happy enough with the experience? It’s great how powerful and mature smartphones have gotten since 2015 and I’ve found most people I know have settled into their favourite type of phone and stick to it much like I do.

I think as long as the user is happy with what they are using I don't see why people need to change. If the os works great for your needs it's worth sticking with it.

For those who want to try something different the choice is there which as consumers we can't ask for anything more than that.

For me at least, the iPhone is becoming a tougher and tougher sell. I was all set to get an iPhone 12 Mini (been using an SE 2020 as a stopgap) but the reviews today confirm my worst suspicions: it‘s expensive for what it is and the battery life is mediocre at best. One review (the Verge I think) said they took it off the charger at 8am and it was dead by 4pm. That’s simply not good enough for a £700 device with only 64Gb storage.

Meanwhile, Google’s UK site is selling off the Pixel 3A for £230 and the flagship Pixel 4 for £400. I have a Samsung A71 sitting here that cost £280. These are difficult times and I’m not sure I can justify these iPhone prices any more.

I don't think it's bad. Use what you like and I haven't had an iPhone for 10 years.

As they upgrade I have considered trying one to see how far they have come til I read in here that the things they have now still aren't that good compared to Android and my consideration fades.

Seems they still have a ways to go so i may never have another iPhone and I'm certainly not going to pay a premium and still need to buy a charger for it. I don't have any Apple chargers here except for my Wifes iPad charger.

Anyone that pre ordered the Max, did you go to a store to check out the Pro to see what the colours looked like in person? I know I'll be happy with the graphite but I'm wondering if I should have got the gold.
I’ve seen the colors—all very nice but as expected, personal preference will dictate what you like. I was initially sold on the new blue but after looking at all of them, I think I’m going with silver/white for the first time—just a nice clean look, IMO.

The blue is quite nice, but this phone will ultimately be my daughter’s next year and the silver will work better with her likely case color choices.

If I keep the phone, I'm keeping the bright yellow/orange case which I'm sure would look better with the gold and it's light camera array. I hate having these first world problems.

We both know you want gold. ;).
Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Pro colours. They're all a bit safe but they all look good.

I have zero regrets over gold. I bought a cheap clear case off Amazon (much better than Apples rip off silicone crumbling mess) and it looks great.

I've decided to keep my iPhone over the Fold 2, too. At last. Lol.

What was the deciding factor over the fold?

I think I realised I’ve done the same tasks on my smartphone daily for years now. I do the same things on an iPhone 12 that I did on the iPhone 8 Plus I had before it and would likely continue doing the same things if I had an Android phone. They all essentially do the same thing with a slightly different interface and semantics. It boils down to preference and tastes I think. Where I prefer iOS, others will look at it and feel Android is better. I wouldn’t try to convince anybody otherwise because I don’t really care as long as I’m using what I prefer. A few years ago I might have tried to debate it, but I’m not bothered these days.

My advice is if you’re happy with Android/iOS and at this point don’t see any need to the try the other, you probably have no reason to. :)

Were you able to return the case for a refund? Why not the official Apple clear case? £45 with a visible white ring in the middle sounds like a bargain. ?

I haven't been back to the shop as haven't had time. So I'm over 2 weeks old now so they may not refund. John Lewis are difficult at the best of times. Plus I'm not even sure they're open.

And lol. Anyone who buys that clear case from Apple is off their head!

I’ve only seen and handled the gold but I have to say I didn’t like it at all as much in real life as on vids. Somehow the light matte color on the back made the steel edges look almost fake somehow. I went with graphite too, haven’t seen it in real life but it looked beautiful in Unbox Therapy’s vid and that one I can’t imagine is very much different in real life.

So far so good with the V60.

First 3 photos are V60 and G8.
Last photo is V60 and 11 Pro Max.

First one is max brightness with auto brightness off, second lowest with auto off as well. Third is for color comparison. Fourth one was just to compare with my iPhone, half brightness with auto off on both.

So far I'm liking it. Boy is it heavy though, which I like because I'm a fan of my devices feeling like tanks.

Battery I haven't really tested out yet but it's already better than my G8, no doubt about it. Just need to do a full charge for the V60 and 11 PM to do a comparison there.

The V60 is fast, it eats the G8 for breakfast. I'd venture to say it feels about as smooth as my iPhone.

One thing I noticed is that while taking photos of the G8, I saw PWM like crazy. That wasn't visible on the V60 for whatever reason.

I love complaining if I feel I've been shortchanged. Even if it took 20 hours to get a fiver back I'd do it out of principal, it's like a hobby. ?

I think as long as you like black/dark grey, you can't really go wrong with the graphite. I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

I know one thing I'm looking forward to on iOS, tap to top on Safari. Closest thing on Android is the Samsung browser but still nowhere near as good.
That goes for the reader mode on Safari too, at least for me. I use it constantly and no Android browser even comes close with that feature. A good reader mode is getting more and more indispensable too, with the ever rising flood of privacy notices and cookie choices etc. One tap and it all goes away, and with the cleanest dark mode on the market to boot. One of the things I was having the hardest time with last time I used an Android daily driver.

Coming from 20 months on Android, here's a few things that I'm really not enjoying with the 12 Pro Max.

No swipe to go back from the right side. I hold my phone in my right hand, it's now a 2 handed job to do that.

No Safari dark mode.

Not being able to set a homepage. I know I can add a web page shortcut, but it's not as clean looking.

Only 4 apps on the Dock? WTF?!

Accessing a lot of apps is now a 2 handed job because of my no.1 annoyance of iOS. Did I mention I don't like them stuck to the top?

I don't use 90hz on my Pixel, but opening & closing apps feels much faster. Maybe it's because I've adjusted the animations but it definitely feels slower on the iPhone.

I'd hope by now Apple would stop burying the camera settings in the main settings page.

Haven't had much time with it, so it's been the main things I take for granted on Android that I've noticed. I'm sure I'll find some cool things I appreciate about it.

Screen is great and love the size. The phone itself looks and feels awesome, very premium. Of course its heavier than my Pixel but in no way a problem. That's not too much in the way of positives against the negatives!

Just my opinion and I'm sure some will hate it, but I absolutely love the leather case in California Poppy. Great contrast against the graphite on the camera bump.

I have been using the Pixel 5 and unboxing the 12 Pro Max was a bit of a shock this morning. I really like the hardware, but the phone is very large and heavy compared to the Pixel.
