I know overall I'd prefer a Note 20U. But using an iPhone for a while will be different and it's a great device. Then moving back to a Note (30?) will be a big and welcome change.

Unless Google say **** it and release a gigantic no expense spared phone. And I'm unlikely to change my mind any time soon on what manufacturer gives me the most pleasing photo.
I am right there with you. If Google launches a big (6.5 or bigger) flagship specked phone with all the trimmings so to speak. That would be the one for me all the way. Maybe next year they will surprise us with a big beautiful Pixel 6 XL :)

I switched to a Pixel 5 from a iPhone XS Max. I immediately thought Google made a huge mistake because the Pixel 5 felt incredibly undersized. After a day of the 12 Pro Max I have to say I might return it and go back to the Pixel. The small footprint and lightweight materials feel better to me when compared to the heft and unwieldiness of the 12 Pro Max.

He is Weimaraner and something else....he was a rescue. He is 12 now and my GF has had him for 8 years.
Gotta say is the sweetest dog...but the most anxiety driven dog I have ever been around lol
I thought he might be a Weimaraner...have two myself.

For me, it's not so much the high end cpu I'm bothered about (although if they gave it a big enough battery to compensate that would be perfect), it's giving us all 3 cameras almost every other phone has. Along with a pro mode and seeing if they could pull ahead again with a new sensor.

As for the iPhone, I just love the size and really enjoy using it. Weight is no problem at all. Much prefer Face ID to a FPS, although a little disappointed I can't use Apple pay because of masks. Can't blame Apple for that though. lol

And I can't stress enough how much I love this case colour! Almost worth the extra £750 I had to pay over what I'll likely get for my Pixel for that alone. ?

I understand that as everyone wants the latest and greatest but the Camera on the Pixels is still better than new ones on others.
Someone in a thread, not sure if its this one or another said his Pixel 5 overall more so than not takes better pics than his iPhone 12 PM.

Cant argue with results and the P5 is $400-500 cheaper.

Yeah, I prefer FPS just for that reason. I use FaceID on the iPad Pro, which is alright since I'm normally at home or in the car when I use it.. no need for mask at that point.

That's why I said going all out, meaning the well known Pixel quality but on a true high end device with 3 main lenses and upgraded hardware.

Even with smaller battery the pro max is a beast battery life wise I think if you are coming from 11 pro max you won’t miss anything battery wise.
As usual, people like to complain over nothing. I've used my phone more than usual but I already know it'll last well past a day of good use.

It's weird I can't find out exactly how much screen time I've used since I charged it though (can't find it under screen time or battery).

Mine isn’t showing in screen time but on battery it’s showing.

I started with Droid X way back when, then moved to the iPhone 4 when it came to Verizon. Was with Apple through the XS Max till the beginning of this year and got the S20 Ultra. I have the 12 Pro Max being delivered this week. I like both platforms, but my family is all Apple and the iPhone just does certain things better.

The camera on my S20U takes beautiful pictures but sometimes I really have to make adjustments to get a great shot. The iPhone with the Sony cameras just takes great pictures. This is important at work, quick shots then send them via text or email.

Been missing iMessage, Android has RCS in Google Messages but I have about 2 or 3 contacts that use it.

Facetime vs Duo, like I said, my family is Apple so I have had to get them to download Duo. Not a big deal.

Quickshare versus Airdrop, we take a lot of pictures and videos of the girls we have that are Cheerleaders so being able to get the files to them without compression is difficult. We've been sending a lot over Whatsapp.

The 12 Pro Max new design chassis is what pushed me over the edge to go back. That added to what I listed above.

Just a suggestion. You could always use Google Drive as an option to share files. They don't get compressed. You can create a new folder where you and others are able to share files... it would then become a bridge to export them to your phone.

I've been using Google Drive as a means to share files between my iPP and Fold2... its been pleasantly cool.

I'll give that a try now, thank you.

Do yours have the stare down perfected? Is that Weimaraner thing? lol...Ours does a good job of just staring at us when he wants something :)
Yup, same. Must be in their genetics. They will both do it to my wife until she loses her mind. ?

Super sweet dogs though.

They are super sweet dogs! How are you liking your 12 PM so far?

It’s been fine. The changes from the 11 Pro Max are incremental so for someone like me who’s switching from an 11 Pro Max, no real noticeable changes. I also haven’t had a chance to really test the area of the phone with the biggest changes, the camera system, so that likely has something to do with it.

As is usual for Apple, the build quality and feel in hand is exceptional. And hey, for what it’s worth, the bump in speed when I’m on TMobile’s 5G, which blankets most of the Tampa Bay area (except for my home, of course) is pretty significant. I wouldn’t get over 100 Mbps downloads that often on LTE. Here are my most recent speed tests.

@Aneres11 I have a confession. I've left the haptics switched on with the 12 Pro Max, I quite like them!
Haha. I'm saying nothing...
But hey, its refreshing to see someone admit they have had a change of heart on here!
I even downloaded GBoard for my 12 so I get haptics on my key presses! Its taken me AGES to get used to it as its laid out differently to the stock Apple one, but I'm nearly there!

Whenever I go back to my Z Fold 2 and use the 120hz it's so nice.
Such a shame Apple couldn't get 120 or even 90hz in the new 12's.

I'm in the camp of once I've used a device with it, I can really notice one without it.

In the same boat to be honest, I’m loving the pro max but yeah that refresh rate is noticeable. Can’t wait for iPhone to get it next year lol

I just got the 12 Pro Max and I was hoping they would get. I suspect that they thought combined with 5G the battery life was unacceptable. Apple often waits to perfect something before they release it so I think it'll be worth the wait.
