Speakers sound better than the M7, thats quite a compliment!

Also, that In-N-Out looks pretty good, I was just about to get lunch, think I might head over there!

The LG G3 dethrones the Samsung Galaxy S5 in our battery life

Decided to pre-order the international version.
Not entirely sure when it'll turn up (~a month I guess?), but I'm looking forward to it.
I don't seem to use my iphone for much more than...a phone. I love the idea of ditching my ipad when out and I'm fine with a laptop on the sofa. Don't know how realistic this is, I've never had a 'big' screen phone.

Hi Jamezr,
Between phonearena and gsmarena, which website is consistent in terms testing and reviews. Just waiting for Anand review about the screen and brightness with 50% level.

I think I've decided to not buy ANY phone with a QHD screen.

Just don't need it. Will consume battery faster and overheat the device faster combined with the next gen of powerful processors.

It's getting really annoying seeing devices going up to 5.5 and with QHD screens.

It's seriously not needed. My Nexus 7 with 1080P is perfect for a 7 inch screen, so no need for more than that.

To me all these new features are just gimmicks: UltraPixel camera, heart rate sensor, QHD screens, etc.

Eventually QHD will be more common.

And? Welcome to technology marketing, 90% of smartphone features are nothing more than gimmicks, or started out as gimmicks that people now view as "must haves".

Probably

But I agree with him, I'm not jumping on that horse until it is proven, old news. Since I probably can't tell the difference anyway :p

I'd rather have higher performance, less heat, less battery drain for now. I have my doubt's that they will somehow equalize efficiency on rev a products. :)

Oh trust me I feel the same way, if lg really managed to include this screen while keeping performance big thumbs up for them.

See...i tend to agree....I want an optimized UI....better batter life......32GB as standard and options that are useful and full featured....not just added to advertise them. But at the same time new technology will have to be done by someone at sometime. It won't always work perfectly but then it will be adopted and become standard. Like QHD screens....apps and content will catch up....

Indeed, and I'm glad lg is pushing the boundary for sure.

I've always preferred to run at a lower res if it means higher performance. It's just one of those things for me.

That's just an Insane amount of pixels :p. perhaps it's my old way of thinking and it really isn't a problem on phones anymore. I mean, I'll equally bash the prospective retina iMac with mobile gpu. I just hate undergunned hardware using higher res than it should, though perhaps maybe neither this lg g3 or the new iMac will be undergunned. If I had a retina Mac I'd prolly run it at 1080p, but you can't make that choice on a phone.

I still PC game at 1280x1024 :p

Saw a nice video on android authority about the smart features of the G3, the UI looks quite good and the keyboard have great functions.

It's annoying how these companies announce products and don't give a solid release date.

Almost Every full video review has mentioned the overheating. Check out detroitborgs 32minute review. In his case the entire phone switched off after the heating error message until it cooled down ...

It's put me right off getting the phone ...

He might have gotten a bad unit.....or he is driving more hits to his videos by making claims like that. Head over to XDA G3 forums.......the international G3 has been out for a while. It is outselling the Galaxy S5 by 3 to 1 in terms of releases sales figures. But everyone that has the phone in hand has said it does not overheat. It has good daylight viewing and the battery life is great. People that have the S5 M8 and now the G3 all says it is just as good or better than those phones. But they all say that it does lower the display brightness to under 100% after a while to reduce heat. I guess that is a good control to have. Personally i have never run my phone at 100% screen brightness.

Hey MRU.... I watched the DetroitBorg G3 review.
He said the G3 was one of his favorites phones he has reviewed so far this year.
He runs his screen at 100% brightness the whole 32 minute video and it didn't overheat. But he did say at the 29.02 minute mark that while recording 4K video the camera app overheated and the camera app shutdown to allow it to cool down. Other phones that shoot 4K video also do something similar. The phones gets too hot while shooting 4K video. He didn't say how long he was recording the 4K video...

Here is the DetroitBorg review....
