When can you buy this in the US?

That's the 3 million dollar question. All we know (atleast that I've found) is end of the month. I'm also curious if the larger storageversions will be available as well when Motomaker launches.

I like the X. Wish they expanded MotoMaker to outside of the US. No real reason to get the phone without it.

Well, listened to the Android Central podcast yesterday and they stated Motomaker would be available in the UK and France. It's not everywhere but certainly better than the first go around last year.

3 countries is still pretty bad. I'm in Ireland and the main feature of the Moto X is lost here.

I understand the constraints they have to work with so am not that upset. But realistically I would never really consider the phone otherwise.

I hate this bigger phone movement. I might get the ip6 because it's the only sub 5" flagship phone left.

Unless there's another option I'm missing.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha is what I'll be looking out for now. Flagship? Maybe not but I have enough of those. :)

Well, the rumored dimensions of the 4.7" iPhone don't have it much smaller than the new Moto X thanks to larger bezels than the X.

Large bezels? We don't need no stinking large bezels. :)

Waiting to see the Alpha. 4.7" with nice ergonomics may soon be a thing of the past. I smile every time I use my X.

My only problem with the alpha is same as S5.. 2gb memory is restrictive on the S5, will alpha have same issue refreshing background apps.

My problem with iPhone 6, is from the leaks I don't like it aesthetically. And that camera jutting out is horrible when resting it on a table etc...

Rumored iPhone 4.7" dimensions: 138 mm x 67 mm x 6.9 mm. Weight N/A.

Moto X 2nd gen dimensions: 141 mm x 72 mm x 3.8 - 9.9 mm. 144 grams.

I think the 5 mm less of width will make a big difference for one handed operation. And I expect the next iPhone to be equal to or less than 112 grams. So the combo of less width and weight should make the next iPhone much easier to manage than the new Moto X. (Plus of course the screen is 1/2" smaller making it easier to navigate.)

The alpha is 2gb with lesser specs/features. Might make a difference.

I remember you posted about the processor on the original X being Motorola versus Snapdragon on the new X with having possible performance problems with refreshing apps. Well the initial G ran the 400 so maybe the new X we still may see good performance.

I cannot wait to see the new Motos on display. More toys to play with. And the Alpha should be soon as well.

Then the iPhone won't solve your issue.

Almost the same size as the s5 (5.1)
Larger than the Moto X (5.2)
Larger than the Galaxy Alpha (4.7)
Slightly shorter than the M8 but overall same size. (5)

I think you need to either check your math or your sources.

Rumored iPhone 6 (4.7") dimensions: 138 mm x 67 mm x 6.9 mm

Galaxy S5: 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm (4 mm x 5.5mm x 1.2 mm larger)
Moto X (2014): 140.8 x 72.4 x 10 mm (2.8 mm x 5.4 mm x 3.1 mm larger)
Galaxy Alpha: is clearly a sub 5" display phone so, that's an option for the poster
HTC One (M8): 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm (8.4 mm x 3.6 mm x 2.5 mm larger)

Excluding the one phone with the same size display (Alpha), the other phones you mentioned are significantly larger than the rumored iPhone 6 dimensions.

I'm waiting to see what Apple unveil tomorrow as I already have the Moto X 1st gen. While it's a great phone, I wonder about the longevity. One of the things Apple has going for their devices is that they can last up to about 4 years. I only recently got rid of my iPhone 4 on iOS7 in favour of the X (and despite what others are saying, my 4 ran great on iOS7). But my father-in-law has an S3 from a couple of years ago and it is painfully slow, after just 2-and-a-bit years. I put that more down to Samsung's lust for bloatware than android, but does anyone have an idea on how long they expect the Moto X to run for?

I have an S3 at the moment and pretty much had to start using the Nova launcher due to the lag and slowness of the phone, it cleaned the phone right up and makes it run a lot smoother. I have just pre ordered the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact as my next phone, No way am I using Samsung again.

IMO, Nova Launcher is one of the best things to hit Android. I have it on my X and it fits my way of doing things perfectly. I'll suggest to my FIL!

I would agree with that you can make your phone into exactly how you want it, I still get some lag spikes when I'm pushing the phone a bit, but it's a lot better with NOVA.

Folks thinking the Moto 360 is hard to find, try finding the new G supposedly released last Friday as well.

I thought you preferred Nova because there was something or other you could not do with GNL. The app drawer, dock or whatever but I cannot remember exactly.

Yeah folder in the app drawer, however with the Moto X I've kept things stripped back and there isn't the abundance of apps I want to hide in drawers compared to my S5 for example. :)

This looks like an awesome phone but I am bummed that there is no 64gb option. It seems lik very few android handsets get released with 64gb

I'm not a fan of the new design. The camera/flash module and M logo circle on the back are much more clunky than on the old X. The speaker/mic grilles stick out way too much too. And on this one I actually don't dig the addition of the metal band at all, it just disturbs what already was a very slick shape. They "fixed" what wasn't broken, IMO.
