Still no show on my Dev Edition, but I'll check throughout the day...

Finally. Maybe.

They are rolled out staggered by CID and usually from East to West.

Chinese and russian dual sim HTC One model is rolling out and for regular model (which we have) it's Taiwan that got the OTA first based on their CID.

Chances are it will slowly creep out Westwards with Eastern European and perhaps Indian model, then Western Europe, and then over the Atlantic.....

Why android software rollout can't just happen like Apple will always be my biggest bugbear with Android in general.

I just bought it. I am loving Android Freedom & HTC screen is amazing .. Iphone4 & 5 looks cheap in front of HTC one

I can't stress to you all (yes, again) how overrated the Ultrapixel camera is. Every time I'm in low light settings, it performs poorly. Better than the competition? Sure, I believe that. But does it actually shoot well in low light? No. Hardly.

Give me a regular 13 MP with a good flash.

I know this is a dead horse but it really makes me ponder what will happen with the 2014 HTC One. How will Ultrapixel technology advance by then? Will they be able to squeeze in 8 or 13 MPs Ultrapixel lens without compromising the thickness of the device? By then, where will Samsung and Apple and Sony be with their cameras (20 MPs?)? Is the Ultrapixel camera doomed to lag behind the competition all for the sake of "better" low light images?

It's something to keep a close eye on because I'm horrendously turned off by the whole Ultrapixel lens.

It's more hype than anything.

PS. HTC has failed/is failing their promised 4.2.2 update. 4.3 looks to be right around the corner.

I feel pretty much the same way. The Ultrapixel camera may fair somewhat better than the competition in low light but the compromise & trade-off is simply nowhere near being worth it. Almost all pictures lack detail and cropping is simply out of the question with a 4 MP camera. If you look at a normal picture from the GS4 and HTC One side by side, the level of detail isn't even comparable.

Now all that being said, I don't see a need for my phone's camera to ever be larger than 12 MP. So if HTC can use the UP technology in a camera with 12 MP worth of detail, I don't care if the competition gets to 20 MP or more...I'd be thrilled with those results.

What freedom? You're still at the mercy of the Android makers for updates and such.

This is true only if you wish to stay unrooted and bootloader locked. Otherwise, you can easily root, unlock the bootloader through HTCDev, and flash whatever you want and never be at the mercy of the carriers again.

I was running 4.2.2 (based on the leak initially) using ARHD. This was a couple of weeks before they even started rolling out 4.2.2 officially. When the Google Edition was released, I flashed the XDA ROM and my phone was basically a GE phone. I've since gone back to ARHD because I missed some of the Sense options (mainly the camera options).

But you're not restricted to running stock. You've got options. :D

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I love the phone, but I detest the camera. It doesn't make it any easier to take when you're like me and sitting here with access to a Note 2, iPhone 5, and even my OG. What in the world HTC was thinking, I have no idea. It's pure marketing, because the camera under normal conditions is awful.

I checked this morning and no update yet. I was kind of hoping to have it for my long holiday weekend. No biggie, just sayin. :)

Very very accurate.

There's no beating around the bush. The camera is poor overall.

The worst part is that HTC are probably gonna include the ultrapixel (4mpx camera) in most of their new phones, like the One Mini or One Max.

Who knows if they're going to keep it for next year's models too.

Bout time HTC caught up to Samsung gs4 in official os version!

Sad part is 4.3 is about to roll out now though

I don't know guys my wife's One seems to take better pics than my S4. Every time she sends me a pic of the kids, they seem a tad better than when I shoot them. Or is there something in the settings I'm missing?

make sure to opent eh camera app...then go to settings.....make sure it is set to the highest picture resolution. Make sure to turn on the anti shake option as well.

I have an HTC One Developers Edition and I still see no 4.2.2 update.
Is it critical?
No, but HTC are not doing themselves ay good by not communicating with their customer base and not
giving them some idea of what's up.
A simple, cost free release of info regarding their plans for updates would go a hell of a long way towards keeping customers happy.

And Samsung isn't doing much better in regards to letting us know what's going on with the Note 2 and S3 4.2.2 update...

4.2.2 OTA update

It appears that the update to 4.2.2 is rolling out over a broader area. People in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and even one in the UK have received it today. Perhaps MacRumorUser will advise us later on today if he received it.

I haven't gotten the update and I have Nexus 7 and just bought a Hisense Sero Pro the other day with 4.2.1.

Is there no end to gadget madness? :)

Isn't there a slew of camera apps one can try if you disaprove of the quality on the One? Perhaps something like Snap Camera?

I can confirm that I successfully downloaded 4.2.2 via OTA on my HTC One in Czech Republic. Finally at last!

Fantastic stuff :)

Nothing for me just yet.... last time it was about 5 days after general rollout that I got it - so I'm betting Monday or Tuesday fingers crossed :)
