Honestly never thought HTC would take this long to get 4.2.2 out. We've reach the inexcusable point now. Doesn't bode well for the future either. Guess users can look forward to getting KLP next year. round this time.

I just hope it was worth the wait..... I really want the changes to Sense 5 more than the small differences Android 4.2.2 will bring to the table itself.

I've tried almost EVERY launcher on my HTC one now and I always end up coming back to Sense 5 as I just simply prefer it over all the others, and I just want those extra changes now to make Sense 5 better.

I'm really hoping they push it tomorrow along with the release of the Google Edition HTC One. It makes some sense that everyone gets 4.2.2 at the same time, so I can forgive them if it's tomorrow.

If not... I think that's when we'll reach the inexcusable point.

Good ol' HTC.

This is what ultimately made me choose the S4 over the One. Now while my wife might not see the significance of a 4.2.2 refresh on her One, I sure do. Trust me I've dealt with HTC for years and if one thing rings true, they will always lag behind the other major players when it comes to the latest software. Although if I did have the One, it would have been rooted and rom'd by now because that's the only way you'll stay abreast of the update wars.

Oh yeah good point, maybe that's what the delay was about ? Hopefully we get some confirmation at least that 4.2.2 starts rolling out in some territories tomorrow and then at least the ball is rolling.

Strange thing is they pushed out the first update with general improvements fairly speedily - even to carrier handsets, so it does kind of ring strange that their first update to unbranded world wide handsets was so speedy and yet 4.2.2 suffering delays despite the earlier leak (based on the custom roms out now) seemingly being very stable and offering decent improvements.

So either something very strange has happened with the new kernel that they have pulled it, or maybe as Coach suggests 4.2.2 could be delayed until the google edition ships ?

Either way a little confirmation from HTC would actually go a long way. Silence is never the best way of communicating with your base.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if KLP is out next year when the next flagship is coming out. I bet the GS4 will have it in the Fall.

It's not even about the incremental 4.2.2 upgrade. If they keep delaying such a simple update, imagine how long KLP is going to take. That will piss off more people because all the Samsung users will probably have it months before the HTC people

Just curious, how flush is the power button on your HTC One? Drives me nuts the varience I see on different Ones. Mine is almost completely flush where as I've seen others where it sits up almost like a button (which I like). Which is it supposed to be, flush or a button.

Almost flush for me too. I have the Developer's Edition bought directly from HTC.

I noticed the Tmobile's One's power button is a little more raised.

: shrug :

I'm not as bothered by the flushed power button as I am bothered by the flush volume buttons.

They are near impossible to find in your pocket when you just want to quickly change the volume. The slight difference in texture doesn't help.

I use a Sony SBH20 NFC wireless NFC headset dongle. It saves having to touch the phone at all ... So you can adjust volume, take a call, full remote control for music etc.... The earphones that come with it are trash, but you can put any 3mm headphones with it...

I replaced my iPhone 5 with an HTC One. After a month or so, I sold my used iPhone in Amazon. I'm pretty happy I changed (upgraded). However, I still have my iMac and I'm thinking about getting one of the new Mac Pro, when they become available. It will be much more tempting if they launch it along a 4K screen.

Well, I think by end of the day, it'll be fair to get upset with HTC for not having pushed out 4.2.2. to the HTC One. Not even to the Developer's Edition.

I would have understood if they were pushing it with the Google Edition HTC One today, but not looking like it.

Clock's ticking. Epic fail, time?

It's not going to happen today ... I think we can safely assume that.:(

Can the dev edition flash CRC files ?
If so you could flash the google edition CRC that HTC has posted ?

I hate the build quality of the current HTC One's traded my phone 4 times now and they all have gaps which isn't supposed to be. This is the first HTC smartphone i got, but will probably be my last one, going back to Samsung when they switch from polycarbonate.

i think you're blowing it a bit out of proportion. i miss my dash clock, too, but i wouldn't say my htc one experience is greatly diminished by the lack of 4.2.2. the one, even with 4.1, remains a solid device, and i doubt the vast majority of owners know or even care about being on the latest os.

Why are you making excuses for HTC? Other OEMs seem to have no issue supporting their user base. I can't believe 4.2.2 is still not out though

That's weird...

Have you tried his ? Does it make any tangible difference ? Is yours easier to hit ?

Yeah, mine is definitely easier to hit (it sticks out). You kind of have to "dig" into his power button for it to work. Very similar to the flush volume buttons

My HTC One doesn't have 4.2 either but it still seems to function just fine. Not sure what all the fuss is about...

My AT&T one is raised a little bit. My buddies' AT&T model is flush. :(

I just wonder which way it's supposed to be. Seeing as how the volume is flush I wonder if the raised ones are the ones that are less common if HTC was going for a true unibody design.
