Don't get your hopes up. You were also the same person who was parading around on MR saying that 4.2.2 would be out by May-June for the One.

I do believe they did start rolling out 4.2.2 in june, plus he's not in america so he probably did recieve the update in that time frame.

And HTC has pretty much abandoned the US Snapdragon variant of the One XL. Your point?

Do you work for HTC? Because otherwise, I'd like to see proof please. Oh, that's right, as you've been so keen to tell everyone in the past, you don't have to prove anything to anyone.

And still didn't answer my question, so I'll rephrase it. Do any versions of the Galaxy S3 have 4.2 yet? The International version? The US version? Any ETA on when that update is coming?

How about 4.3 on the Galaxy S4--have an ETA for that?

Looks like the HTC apologist brigade has arrived. Welcome!

There have been leaks for the various Tegra 3 and overseas One Xs and One X+s for 4.2.2.

Not a single one for the US snapdragon-powered One XL yet.

Go back to playing in the sand box. We're talking about the US variants here. Not Europe.

----------

Is there some kind of forbidden love between HTC and Samsung users or an I missing something? :p

More like a lack of respect from HTC users.

There was a thread a few days ago when someone was voicing their opinion on the One, and all the "adults" from here start attacking him for no reason, just because their beloved HTC One was "insulted"

They always seem to be so uptight. Pretty hilarious reading their BS.

Yet another post from our resident HTC hater who appears to have the largest axe to grind that I recall seeing. As usual not an ounce of substance, just an ill informed attempt at a snappy comeback. Did you even read my link? Probably not, so I'll bring you up to speed--users in the UK have confirmed they are receiving the update.

Another funny thing, I can't seem to see the part of the thread title that say 'only in the US', nor the part of the website they specifies the information found here is only for readers in the US. ChazUK, MacRumorsUser, and all the other members posting in this thread living outside the US must just be really big fans of the US technology market. Everyone knows the world revolves around the US.

So let us recap:

Versions of HTC's One X, their flagship from 2012, are receiving updates to 4.2.2. No variants of the Samsung Galaxy S3 have it yet--no ETA for it, only speculation that it will eventually bypass 4.2.2 in favor of 4.3.

The HTC One is now on 4.2.2 in much of the world though still lagging in the North American market (GSM models). The Samsung GS4 was released with worldwide with 4.2.2. The One is scheduled to receive an update to 4.3 by next month, with confirmation from executive at HTC USA. Samsung, no idea.

And we're the apologists.

More like a lack of respect from HTC users.

There was a thread a few days ago when someone was voicing their opinion on the One, and all the "adults" from here start attacking him for no reason, just because their beloved HTC One was "insulted"

The only lack of respect here is coming from your US-centric view, which is of course there to only conveniently support your argument.

What's also more hilarious is your memory of that thread. So a thread where everyone except for the OP and yourself call the OP out for his unfettered bias and inability to recognize any opinions contrary to his own turns into 'everyone attacking him for no reason.' One member after another identified his bias (except for the resident HTC basher himself ;)) yet they were all at fault. Yep, that's exactly what happened.

I'm shocked to say this but I'm back on a stock Sense ROM.

Stock Android is starting to feel.... Bland!

Lol..... Yeah stock android has its own set of annoying GUI problems that many manufacturer skins resolve. The inability to choose how any home screens you have for example, the lack of transparent notification/status bar, inability to group or organise your app drawer.

The other thing is some of the camera tweaks are genuinely good.

Glad to have the option to change between the two now, especially if I no longer have my Nexus 4 come the release of KLP.

I have to agree. I'm not sure why Google doesn't go all out and implement more stock features say like the ones from nova launcher. Even simple things like customizing number of home screens and long pressing on the home screen for widgets would go a long way. They should also let us customize icon themes too.

Ditto with their keyboard. Don't know why they're holding back. Who are they? Apple? : chuckle :

I have always had the opinion that Google will release an operating system that is
80% finished. With the idea that the consumer can finish tweaking it. This is why at times their os isn't as polished or doesn't have all the features in it. Basically if the person wants it, they can download and install it themselves. If android were a closed operating system. They would add more straight out of the box.

That HTC case has caused a minor scuff on the back of my phone.

Nothing disastrous but it's noticeable if you know its there.

Not using that any more.

They could release it 100% and still let customers customize to their heart's content.

I took Couch's advice and installed the Xtreme Guard skin for the back. Goes on very easy (wet application) and other than the gloss it adds, it's hardly noticeable and very smooth. Also adds some grip.

For example, Rocket Music Player OWNZ the stock Google Music Player. There's no reason why Google can't go all out and add additional features to their music app, also.

It's the "Kii Keyboard" of music players. Everything you want to customize about how your player works is at your disposal. There's even a theme (light blue) that makes it look like Google Now cards. I love it.

The beauty of Android is that most stuff can be resolved.

Just use a launcher and it's mostly the same as the stock but with the added features you say.

Agreed, but Yeah but it would be nice to have the basic features I mentioned there. Its kind of an oxy moron to want pure android in one hand, but have to use a third party launcher with it on the other just to add the most basic of features....

I'm running stock android 4.3 with Nova, but it would be nice to think with KLP I won't need to use Nova. :)

Traded my HTC One with a friends of equal quality but the older HBOOT.

S-OFF and full on Google Play conversion with OTA updates done.

Love this phone. I always have the option to change back to sense when I want.

sweet trade !!!!! :):):)

Thanks! :D

I'm beyond pleased with the trade now I've converted it and a Google Play edition of the black HTC One is something I had in mind when I got my first one (I didn't know about the HBOOT issue until after I'd bought it). :(

My wife is looking into getting one now though..... I think we'll be replacing her Xperia Z for one soon. :)

Myself, I got lucky this time!
