So we're coming on the final week of September, any news on 4.3? I just took my One out of the drawer and powered it up, I've forgotten what a nice phone this is, and how much nicer sense is when compared to touchwiz and lg's skin.

Guys what do you reckon, too late to buy a One?

I saw one in the flesh and am smitten. I could either buy one off contract for about £450 (ouch) then just sell whenever I want, or take out a new contract with the following: £30 p/m, 24 month plan, no upfront cost, 500GB,250 mins, 5000 texts and an option to upgrade whenever I want. The plan is terrible but ill just put that SIM card in my iPhone and keep it in the car. I'll put my current SIM in the HTC.

Awesome plan?

Nah, not too late... Bought my ONE 3 weeks ago for 500 € (off contract) and would do it again.

May I ask why you bought it if you have it kept in a drawer? I use mine every day since I bought it.

After spending the weekend with my new 5S, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. Considering picking up a black HTC One. Had the silver on T-Mobile but think the black looks sweet. Deciding between HTC One and Moto X.

I've always been a white phone owner (when possible) but the HTC One is the first black phone I would consider. Quite a beauty.

If you can wait, the Nexus 5 is right around the corner, too.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of waiting that long. Sold my iPhone 5 so I have 2weeks to return my 5S if I decide to upgrade.

I plan on buying a used One tonight while I wait for my 5S to ship. It still seems to function flawlessly, only knock being software updates. But with a root, that shouldn't be a problem. I think I'll enjoy using the One in tandem with my iPhone, unless the Nexus 5 really impresses me... then I'll have a "problem" to deal with.

Where's AutoUnion? Surprisingly absent. ;):p

They let you out of the sandbox again?

Not surprised the circle jerk has started before it's even out.

Let's see if HTC actually follows thru for once on their promises and if the carriers variants will get timely updates.

S4, S3, and GN2 are coming next month. It was announced a while ago...

Coach will be delighted :)

Finally! lol

Relax, just playfully bustin' your balls, considering how we've butted heads in the past, no malice intended. And I agree, I'm not patting HTC on the back until I actually see it on my device.

Well I've been playing with my new HTC One a lot tonight. Love the feel of the phone, good screen, don't really take many pictures so that isn't a problem. Not too sure how I feel about Sense though. Perhaps it will grow on me and I need to give it more time.

However for you HTC One users/previous users... did you use a launcher? Or did you completely root? I may give the GE rom a shot because I really like the hardware.

I missed having a larger screen, so I got the LG Optimus G Pro (which I will replace with a Note 3 next month). I've had my One on craigslist for over a month, asking $500 for my unlocked 64gb black one with HTC media sync, but so far no takers. Had it in a drawer in its box. Decided to power it up and play with it for a bit.

I mostly used it stock, but did try Nova launcher for a bit. On my LG Pro (and soon to be Note 3) Nova will be a must, but on the One I found stock Sense to be pretty good, and only once in a while would I switch over to Nova. Been thinking about trying the GE Rom, but I have a Mac and have been intimidated everytime I look up to see how to do it.

I have the AT&T HTC One and currently running CleanRom 6.0 with firmware 3.10. Just curious what are you guys running? I need a good kernel that supports firmware 3.10, any recommendation is greatly appreciate it.

Currently using Dev. Edition, haven't rooted it and likely won't but I do use Nova Prime as I use some of it's gesture functionality and prefer to change a few things that I couldn't do in Sense (or stock for that matter), i.e. icons, app drawer and dock layout, lockscreen widgets. I do use Blinkfeed though--set up a Nova home screen gesture to launch it.

While I'm generally a big fan of stock Android, I haven't felt the need to run the GE ROM because, as I mentioned, there are aspects of Sense that I do like (Blinkfeed, camera functionality) and whether you like the theme or not, it's quick, smooth, and generally without any lag.

Nova Launcher (free version, not even Prime). And I love it. Here are a few screens:

I also use Swipe Home to make up for HTC's foolish "blank" HTC logo on the front. Ironically, the blank HTC logo is what makes Swipe Home work so well. 7 day trial, 99 cents after that to buy it in full. Any and every HTC owner should use it.

Also, Kii Keyboard for the win. The best overall keyboard. Think of it as Android stock keyboard Plus. And it's free:

If you don't care about camera quality, boom, you have an awesome HTC One with that set up.

Thanks for the the suggestions guys. I own Nova Prime already so I'll put that on the One. Maybe down the road I'll root. Haven't decided yet.

Couch - what's that weather widget and theme again? I used to use it on my Nexus 4 but can't remember the names....

Thanks!

EDIT: I think I figured it out - Beautiful Widgets with Symbolicons weather theme?

Eye in the Sky. I think Symbolicons is the theme.
