Looks like HTC is still plugging away, leaked images of Sense 5.5.

Includes:
- ability to turn off Blinkfeed as well as new content options
- customizing of Quick toggles
- slight tweak to task switcher (though still no 'close all' option--why is this so difficult to include??)
- new camera features (Panorama+ and Dual Capture)
- slight keyboard changes

No idea when this may be deployed. Glad to see they haven't thrown in the towel just yet.

A lot of those should have been included in the original release of the phone IMO. Nothing exactly groundbreaking

As mentioned previously, with the politics involved a takeover seems unlikely. Getting Taiwanese approval for this would be extremely tough. This article encapsulates matters well:

Even if HTC continues to struggle to the brink?

EDIT: Ah, it'd be a joint venture. That's better than a takeover, isn't it? I don't fully understand these things. Would love an explanation.

I think Android needs HTC if only to keep things competitive against Samsung.

So just got the 4.3 update from At&t. Is there away get lockscreen widgets on the One?

yep, but only 1 can be selected.

Settings > Personalize > Lock screen style and choose the new "Widget" option at the end of the list. From here, you can choose a single lock screen widget to go at the top of your lock screen. That's right, unfortunately you can't scroll through multiple pages of widgets like you can in stock Android.

Oh ok thanks. That is a bit unfortunate, but I don't use them all that much. So that is ok

Sorry, hadn't read anything more than Couch's comment. Was looking at it from the perspective of it being a far better alternative to outright failure on they're own. As it stands, I don't see HTC ultimately succeeding unless they can partner with a larger company with deeper pockets, or are purchased outright.

Completely agree, just like the option to hide the menu button that appeared sometimes. They had it with the One X after one update, so can't understand why it wasn't included from the beginning in the One.

Serious question fella one owners. How do you get the best out of by our camera? Its absolute garbage if you let it just snap a pic. And do you all long press to lock AF or whatever it is before you snap? I do that and it looks great in the preview but when I go to hit the shutter button it comes out blurry.

I had the same issue. Using "touch to capture" under shutter settings has helped me tremendously.

Touch to capture is what I've been using from day one, but tried the default just now. Touch to capture works better, and there's no hunting for the shutter button. I've been freaking out friends and family with the HTC's phone all weekend. Scrubbing through Zoe's so everyone is smiling, and best frame has caused a lot of eyes to pop out, and jaws to drop. :D

So I keep seeing you guys complaining about the camera. Here are two pictures. One is taken with the HTC one, and the other an iPhone 5. Can anyone tell me which picture is from which phone?

Yes. Does it really look that much different, or worse than the iPhone 5?

----------

So what do you have issues with? I guess I should have ask which looks better.

Nah, I haven't looked for the aspect ratio since that's just a setting. It's just the details and colors on the first picture are worse.

I personally don't think the camera is that bad. Most people are too stupid to take good pictures anyway, record videos vertically and use the flash way too much.

Yea Couch keeps saying how bad it is. From the way he talks about it. It sounds like the camera is the quality of a flip phone. Sure some of the flagships are better, but it still does a great job.
