The new "developer edition" might give us an idea, i doubt they will make a big deal out of it to dissapoint people so future updates should be faster.

Speaking of the developers edition I wish there was some info about how returns are processed.

Yeah but that's the One X......

The HTC One will get 4.2.2,and before the One X.

It will get KLP but probably won't get KLP until a good 8-12 weeks after KLP release. So August - September time at a guess.

You guys think whe will see KLP before the new nexus ? Im new to the whole android update cycle but i though major updates release along new devices; looking forward to see what new features will bring and if the nexus 4 gets more software improve though im very happy with it.

I don't think a new OS has to be released sametime as a nexus handset. Just that when the Nexus 5 does come out it will be running whatever the latest version of KLP (prob 5.1.something) :)

Big congratulations to HTC for making the same mistakes again with the HTC One

Make a version with enough memory and give at&t exclusivity so nobody can buy it

idiots

I'm not planning on buying one but I'm just pointing out the idiocy. The average person isn't aware of these exclusive deals and may opt for alternate handsets if they need more memory

the average person probably doesnt even need 8gb of memory.

Ummm...I'm pretty sure sprint is getting it too since they have it promoted on their website. If memory isn't enough for you, then get an external HD...8GB is a lot for the majority of people out there. Dont keep 1000 random pictures on your phone and you'll have plenty of storage for everything else.

Too bad it doesn't run on all bands. I think tmobile users are out of luck, right?

not sure, but some folks over on XDA have international model in the USA and got 4g speeds on T-Mobile but I have no idea about their coverage, or what city that was in etc....

I dont really pay much attention to US networks and bands, also that was with 32gb version. i have also read that the 64gb international version has NO LTE - so i don't know about the US dev edition as we don't get that here.

Is it true with Android devices you only get one software upgrade?

So for example, Jellybean to Key Lime Pie and then that's it?

Surely that can't be true.

not necessarily always, but many times this is the case yes.

however i believe the S3 is getting KLP so that means it had ICS / JB & KLP.

Rooting will extend the software updates even further. My old htc sensation has cyanogenmod 10.1 on it now (android 4.2)

I beg to differ. This is storage, not DRAM. For example, this is where all your pictures and videos get stored, music and movies, documents and et cetera.

Yes, people frequently use much more than 8GB of storage.

do they really, though? everyone visiting this forum, maybe, but when i see my mother or her friends that all have an iphone use maybe 2 gb at most for a few pictures and mp3s im more inclined to think the majority of smartphone users uses them dumbphone-style

They're all getting very expensive these days.....

I think Apple started it last year when iPhone 5 came out with extra € cost too over the 4S.

Even the S4 here is going to be more expensive than the iPhone 5

http://www.expansys.ie/samsung-galaxy-s-4-16gb-black-mist-247569/
€719 ($940)

Compared to €679 for the iPhone 5.

The HTC One is costing me €580 which is still around €100 more than the One X was at launch. (But compared to unlocked S4 it's a practical bargain)....

Just hope Apple don't put iPhone 5S up too.

Seriously whilst I appreciate smart phones are getting very smart and very powerful, they're starting to be priced at same level as a laptop...... No wonder 24 month contracts are the norm and at this rate I can see 36 month contracts not before too long.

My wife, who certainly never visits such forums, has tons of pictures and video on her phone and always complains when it says she's out of space. And she has 32GB.
